Plot Update
(March 31, 2016)

The riders stranded in a mysterious land have managed to survive, for the most part. They have built shelter, and are working together to heal and recover their strength so they can make their way home. This land is strange, dangerous, but it is a new land that all of Pern can benefit from. Will they be able to find their way home? There is talk of sending messages home on a firelizard. A lot of hopes are riding on this chance.

High Reaches Weyr has accepted a donated clutch from Benden Weyr, with a gold egg among them. There is a lot of talk of what that would mean. High Reaches is not ready to see a gold lead them, but can they continue without golds to bolster their numbers? And what if a gold wishes to lead? What sort of problems, or solutions, would a gold dragon bring?

Fort is bolstering their wings, with strong weyrling groups, and whers growing stronger every day, they seem to have recovered with no problems, even if they are down to one gold. What will the summer months bring them?

There are many questions across the Peacekeepers Age, what does the future have in store for them?

Plot Update
(May 31, 2016)

Those stranded on the mysterious island have finally made it home, after much recovery and a daring risk to send a message home. Managing to make the exhausting jumps back to their respective homes together, they bring word of a dangerous but lush new place the world can use for bolstering numbers to protect against the ever-constant threat of Threadfall.

In their absence, the world has raged in times of plague. People and their bondeds have died off in droves, driving the Weyrs and their residents into a state of panic and loss. After two sevendays of struggle, the Master Healer found a combination of medications that could help fight off the infection long enough to survive. The populations have been severely dented, but people are now beginning to recover slowly.

Where plague failed, Threadfall reigned. Severe injuries and loss has hit the Weyrs hard, but there is hope despite this - twin golds hatched at High Reaches, promising to help replenish numbers in time. Fort's sands wait for a hatching of their own, prayers for healthy dragonets on their lips.

Will the world recover? What will happen next, in the Peacekeeper's Age?

Plot Update
(July 26, 2016)

After the losses of the previous season, many felt that the largest garnet clutch ever laid was a sign of new times, and breathed a sigh of relief, particularly when the eggs all hatched and Impressed without any sign of violence. But relief was soon stretched to worry when the new Senior Queen called her suitors to battle over her in Flight, leading to the grounding of the former Weyrleader's dragon. The new Senior Weyrleader's dragon is notoriously colorist and arrogant, leading many to fear that Fort Weyr is traveling down a bad path.

Bad blood resurfaced after the laying of the clutch, leading to the bronze sire and the deposed brown fighting on the Hatching Sands, in the process cracking the gold egg. Summarily exiled from the Weyr by the Senior Queen, the brown and his rider fled into the outlands, where they were joined by a collection of dragonriders and weyrfolk who felt that the handling of the brown's punishment was tyrannical and unacceptable. Calling themselves the Titans, they deserted the Weyr and fled to the summerlands, starting an encampment of their own.

Meanwhile, High Reaches Weyr completed their first cycle of elections, establishing a Weyr Council composed of two Weyrleaders, in charge of the Weyr, two Flightleaders, in charge of the Threadfighting Wings, and a Wherleader, to serve as the voice of the wherhandlers. Though relations between the two Weyrs are growing strained, the plan to survey the summerlands for the establishment of an allied outpost continues, with the first high-altitude sweeps conducted along the coast discovered by the stranded dragonriders.

All eyes turn toward the Hatching Sands of Fort Weyr. Will the gold egg survive? Will the hatching and the surveys knit the Weyrs back together again? Or will winter mark the end of the Peacekeeper's Age?

Plot Update
(Sept 30th)

Exploration of the Summerlands by the joint expedition has finally begun, surveying the coastlands and immediate interior. Though the expedition kept close watch for the so-called Titans, no sign of the rogue encampment could be found. But, despite the harsh lushness of the Summerlands, locations where a Weyr outpost could be made were found, and plans for ground surveys and possible settlement began.

The relationship between High Reaches and Fort, however, was tested by the events on the Hatching Sands of Fort. Riders, including several bronzes, claiming to be from Benden Weyr and carrying war-banners, attacked the hatching eggs, declaring that Serapheth's mutant line must be snuffed out, even as her damaged gold egg hatched a mutant blue dragon with golden eyes. Many were injured in the ensuing battle - and two, Yasmin of blue Ssath and Pia of white Ryodath, vanished in the madness of the attack, and Fort believed them to be kidnapped by the attacking riders.

Though Benden claimed that the riders were Titans, seeking to cast blame upon the blameless and inflame old emnities, Fort's Weyrleader's believed no such thing. Neither did the Weyr Council of High Reaches - but they refused to be incited when Fort came to them, pleading for help. Torn between loyalty to the Weyr that had helped resurrect them after Golre's reign and self-preservation, the Reaches Council agreed only to serve as intermediary, sending a small diplomatic delegation to Benden to ascertain if the missing riders were indeed there.

After a horrific Fall that claimed the life of Fort's Weyrleader's dragon, among others, Benden seemed to see no reason to play coy any longer. Unbeknownst to the High Reaches delegation, a letter, brazen in its demands, found its way to the Fort Weyrwoman's hands, declaring that the traitor Pia of white Ryodath would be executed for her crimes.

Events converge upon Benden Weyr, as the High Reaches delegation arrives and Fort prepares to rescue its own. It seems that Turn's End may truly mark the end of the Peacekeeper's Age.

Plot Update
(Nov. 30, 2016)

The kidnapped riders were rescued - and without bloodshed - but at the cost of worsening relationships between Fort and High Reaches Weyrs. High Reaches dropped out of the Summerlands surveys, leaving Fort Weyr to continue searching for the Titans themselves. Though it took some time, eventually the Fort Weyr surveyors discovered the Titans encampment - only to find that the Titans had pre-emptively begun establishing a Weyr, naming it Semaca Weyr and claiming independence from the Northern Weyrs, and with a dragon clutch already laid on their Sands.

Desperate to maintain the peace, Tuckal championed recognizing Semaca Weyr as an official Weyr. Her efforts were successful, and Weyrs and Holds across Pern sent people as colonists to the fledgling Weyr, in time for the hatching of their first dragons. In addition, Ista Weyr donated a gold wher clutch to the Semacans, a sign of goodwill and alliance. Tuckal's own dragon, Gold Serapheth, Rose early, but was denied her first choice of mate by her rider - making Tuckal's lover, Monty of Bronze Sinanjuth, the Weyrleader, instead of High Reaches' Negan of Brown Wireth.

Meanwhile, the Fort Holder, Lord Vellaren, re-established with Weyrwoman Tuckal the dragon residency rotation at the Hold and Halls. She claims her desire is safety for the Hold in case of retribution from Benden Weyr, but whether this is true or merely a front remains to be seen. The growing closeness of Hold and Weyr is met by some with pleasure and relief - and others with distrust. There are many still who do not trust the motivations of the family who gave Pern the late Lord Evander.

It seems the fragile peace has stabilized, at least for now. But with the heat of summer now on the land, and the clutch of the notorious Serapheth hardening on the Sands of Fort Weyr, how long will this lull last?

Plot Update
(Jan 28, 2017)

Despite ongoing tensions, High Reaches and Fort Weyr have not broken alliance, though the alliance seems to be more in name than anything, and the relationship between the Weyrs is chilly at best. Staying well separated from the problems of the North, southern Semaca Weyr continued to accept transfers and newcomers to the Weyr, building the beginnings of a thriving Weyr with a number of similarities to a self-sufficient Holding, including herds and fields.

Things appeared to be settling down, until the late summer hatching of Gold Serapheth's clutch. What should have been a happy celebration of life turned to chaos, as four of the hatchlings proved violent - killing one, and maiming many others, including a wherhandler healer. On the sands, the weyrlings usurped the authority of the dragonless Weyrlingmaster, evacuating the Sands, while the Candidatemaster broke protocol, taking his dragon to the Sands and defending the Candidates from the rampaging gold Nornth. Even this did not prevent further injury and loss of life. The Feast proved no better, with one of the young dragons attacking another weyrling - and with a wherhandler sucker-punching the Weyrwoman, furious at her disregard for the wherhandlers of the Weyr.

Further incidents have caused damage to the tenuous alliance of the west, including the assault of a Fort Hold guard by a Fortian bluerider on Search. Lord Vellaren's response to this unlawful act was swift and uncompromising, and any further negative interactions between Weyr and Hold are likely to result in sanctions from the Hold. With the Equinox Gather and an open wher clutch provided by Lord Vellaren, the opportunity for disaster is high.

The summer began with a tense calm - but now the stability of the Weyr has come into question, threatening Fort's status as Peacekeepers. Everyone fears what the autumn will bring. Will there even be a Weyr when the turn ends?

Plot Update
(Mar. 31, 2017)

Violence on the Fortian sands - and the ensuing disregard of the Weyrleadership - did not go unanswered. A series of brutal attacks targeted those dragons who had committed lethal or near-lethal violence and their riders, resulting in the deaths of two dragons who had murdered Candidates before Impression and one of their riders, and leaving both the Fortian Weyrwoman and many of the young weyrling dragons injured or permanently crippled. Fort's lack of solid leadership was put on display yet again, as the hunt for the perpetrator was conducted mainly on an ad-hoc basis, with the main show of leadership conducted by Negan of brown Wireth, the man denied Weyrleadership by the Weyrwoman, as he targeted the wherhandlers of the Weyr.

The murderer at High Reaches Weyr proved to be a holdless man, previously banished for assault - but he claimed to have been hired, potentially by a woman posing as a Benden greenrider. Clues at Fort Weyr seemed to damn Pellay of blue Qth, a young rider with ties to one of Evander's Wher Guard. Her sudden disappearance seems to be proof of her guilt, and she remains at large.

This madness did not go unnoticed by the leadership of the surrounding Weyrs. Ista Weyr - long chafing under the dishonor of not being chosen as Peacekeepers - entered into secret talks with Benden Weyr and their ally Igen Weyr. A small but formidable force of riders, led by the young junior Weyrwoman of Ista Weyr, arrived at Fort Weyr with the intent to depose Monty of Sinanjuth as an illegitimate Weyrleader, installing Negan of Wireth in his place, and to assume status as Peacekeepers, given the disastrous track record of Fort Weyr. With the support of Igen and Benden, and the presumed support of High Reaches Weyr, such an action is likely to be upheld in a formal Conclave, despite the strong alliance between Fort Weyr and Telgar Weyr.

Set against this challenging backdrop, Lord Vellaren of Fort Hold struggles to keep an even keel in treacherous political waters, seeking a political marriage and managing to host an Equinox Gather with surprisingly little drama.

Plot Update
(May 30th, 2017)

Violence at Fort Weyr was followed by further violence at High Reaches Weyr. Garnet Ariath rose, sparking gold Midath into following on Rise as well. As territorial as any gold in the skies, Midath attacked Ariath; in the end, Ariath was grounded with ruined wings, and a blinded Midath betweened in panic and was lost forever. In addition, llegations that High Reaches Weyrleader, Zeresh of green Alsasth, had attempted to fondle Xander, the heir to a small hold in the High Reaches protectorate, was met with retribution: the Weyrleader was assassinated, leading to the arrest of the young lord and an inquiry into the circumstances regarding her death. This was followed by an attack on Xander himself, while still in custody, leading to suspicion that he may not have been the one to retaliate against the late Weyrleader. At Fort Weyr, the Istan Peacekeepers remain in uneasy armistice with the Fortian leaders, even after the re-emergence of Tuckal of gold Serapheth. Discussions between Istan Peacekeeper Emma of gold Maktooth and Weyrwoman Tuckal regarding a more-than-suggestion that she retire upon gold Nornth's majority have gone less than well.

Meanwhile, mysterious eggs have continued to appear at various locations, including a gold egg at Semaca. A letter to Weyrwoman Tuckal suggested that the eggs were being left to keep them from hatching somewhere unwelcome; as a result, the dragonless Angelo and A'lin (called Molly) of bronze Tasikheth have been dispatched to Benden Weyr to investigate if this was the source of the eggs abandoned on various hatching sands. Winter proved otherwise quite fertile, with a mixed clutch from several dams (including High Reaches' Junior Weyrleader Na'ri of Kasheth's eggs, and the eggs and attendance of Benden's Junior Weyrwoman Sido of gold Nuuth) on the sands of Semaca Weyr, a gold wher clutch at High Reaches Weyr, and the clutch from gold Terminath hatching on High Reaches' sands. Many of her clutch were unusual in marked ways, from shiny chromatics to dragons missing eyes or limbs, but otherwise healthy. Not all are content with Terminath's get, but she is the gold they have.

Tensions remain high, but there is hope that this will not devolve into outright war. With the fate of Weyrs in the balance, can the squabbling and often inept leaders of the eastern Weyrs manage to keep this the Peacekeeper's Age?

Plot Update
(July 30, 2017)

The source of the mystery eggs has been found!

Through the efforts of the dragonless Angelo and bronzerider Molly, Alayna of Gold Wyzeth has been found and rescued from Benden Weyr. The truth has come to light that Benden has kept a gold in secret, sedated and drugged only to bolster their numbers with private flights. It has been the source of the mystery eggs that have been appearing on the sands. With this discovery, Emma of Gold Maktooth has left Fort Weyr, returning to Ista to determine what the next course of action to be.

Tuckal of Gold Serapheth has assumed control of Fort once more, and has put worlds of effort into protecting Alayna while she and her gold recover, intending to assist them as long as they need. For as territorial as Serapheth is, she has taken incredible steps to protect Wyzeth, down to threatening bronzes and browns if they get too close. Tuckal has regained control, and with her gold set to rise any day, this means leadership is once more up for grabs.

The four-dam clutch at Semaca has hatched, with its own disaster. Two mutations have hatched from Gold Nuuth's eggs, and the ensuing chaos from the gold has caused an inter-weyr incident. War with Benden may be on the horizon for the fledgling weyr. Along with rumors of seeing monsters in the wilds, Semaca is in for a rocky summer.

Leadership elections at High Reaches Weyr have concluded, and the Weyrleader is a man without a dragon. Xander, a holder who had come to the Weyr for aid, has been elected. He has plenty of work ahead of him, and there is an entire set of problems that he must work to fix. There is a long, interesting season ahead of them.

There is much ahead of Pern, and it will be a telling season.

Plot Update
(Sept. 30, 2017)

Relative quiet seems to have spread over Pern, with even Thread itself refraining from raining down, surprising many. The worry on everyone's mind (especially Semaca Weyr's) is still Benden, but there has been no sign of retaliation from the insulted and humiliated gold who donated her eggs to the southern sands, despite threats voiced in the heat of things for official sanctions and a Conclave of Weyrs. Yet, the quiet doesn't appear to have brought with it calm or comfort - rather the opposite. The late Threadfall has the Weyrs on the edge, with more frequent sweeps and the constant threat that today is the day.

Constant anxiety and watchfulness is starting to take its toll on riders and weyrfolk alike - a toll that is reflected in rumormongering, fistfights, and muttering. High Reaches is growing tense from a steady loss of weyrfolk, with some blaming the unbonded, former-Holder leader Xander for dividing the Weyr. Fort Weyr suffers under its own fever dreams, with rumors spinning almost out of control about Serapheth's clutch on the sand - some claiming, quite insistently, that poison will fell these children of hers, as well.

Tensions are high and it seems that Pern is a tinder box - any spark might set the whole world aflame

Plot update
(Feb. 2, 2018)

Though everyone knew true calm couldn't last, people still speak hopefully when regarding the events of the past months. Despite hints of threats to the contrary - and a distinctly tense atmosphere - Benden Weyr has seemed content to contain their aggressions to official channels, including the upcoming Weyrs Conclave, to be held at High Reaches Weyr. While there are certainly bound to be troubles arising when a group of volatile goldriders along with elected Weyr leaderships are brought together, many hope that the Conclave will be the return of true peace, rather than uneasy truce. Indeed, elections at High Reaches have confirmed many of their unorthodox methods, as the re-election of Xander gives the Weyr a dose of stability in the face of the collapse of gold Terminath's rider, leaving her in a coma from which few imagine she will.

Strange happenings, though, have the world still holding its breath. The discovery that some lost between are not truly lost was shocking, and the adjustment of having riders return from the dead - including the infamous Hecate and her Cabadath - still has many reeling. Combined with a brutal Threadfall, it's hard to see the turning of the seasons as all good, and there are those who murmur that the return of the dead has brought bad luck - that between laid claim to so many this Threadfall in recompense for giving up some of those it had claimed.

Plot Update
(April 17, 2018)

A conclave has been called across Pern, leaders meeting at High Reaches Weyr to discuss the direction Pern will take. The event is somewhat marred by the death of Gold Terminath, her final clutch of only 9 eggs hatching and impressing without a single queen egg. The Reaches will be trying to struggle along without a gold, in the hopes their garnets and greens can sustain the population.

At the conclave itself, Benden was asked to answer for the crimes against Alayna of Gold Wyzeth. Denial was strong, but in the end the conclave decided to place sanctions on Benden. Ista attempted to make a movement to seize all of Fort territory for their own, but was swiftly shot down.

Fort has reclaimed the title of Peacekeeper, and with the announcement has come a brief, unsuccessful kidnapping of their Weyrwoman. She was recovered, unharmed, but the perpetrators have confessed to being from Benden. It seems like war may be once again on the horizon.

A single, stray weyrling blue was discovered to be a female! Blue Hinokath laid a single egg, hatching to a white and impressing successfully. Maybe it is just the odd nature of Serapheth's bloodline, producing mutations in many ways.

The peace seems to be on uneven, rocky ground. One will have to see how the tide turns...

Plot Update
(July 31, 2018)

Fort Weyr

Once again, Fort Weyr is in chaos. Their junior gold's flight devolved into violence, as Nornth killed one bronze and ordered the rest of her chasers to kill each other if they hoped to avoid the same fate. Among the dead were four Benden bronzeriders who had come to try their luck. Few had liked them being at Fort but they had committed no crimes on Fortian territory. The bronze Nornth killed directly was partnered with the brother of Sido, Benden's junior weyrwomen. Fort suspects repercussions will not be long in coming.

Fort's senior weyrwoman Tuckal permanently removed Blaze from his post as junior weyrwoman over the incident and has decreed that all future goldriders must prove themselves able to control their queen in flight before receiving the title.

Gold Nornth was flown by a mutation dragon and his rider, Fort's candidate master, is now the weyr's only weyrleader. Fifteen eggs harden on the sands but many wonder if the hatchlings will prove as violent as their mother.

Fort Hold

Lord Vellaren has at last chosen a husband, Lord Corleon, but the news did not stay happy for long. Soon after the announcement was made, Fort's new Lord Consort dueled another suitor of noble blood and the wedding took place surrounded by ashes and smoke.

Fort Hold's dry season gave rise to a massive fire that destroyed the harvests of most of the surrounding cotholds. Fort Hold has been flooded with refugees and their food stores are nowhere near enough to face the coming winter. All know famine is coming but there seems no way out.

Letters pleading for aid go out every day and are returned unanswered.

High Reaches Weyr

The fall of 2767 brought unusually heavy threadfall to High Reaches' territory and the weyr suffered severe losses. Moonshot Wing finished the threadfall with only two riders left able to fly. The Council desperately scrambled to rearrange their riders in something approaching a reasonable fashion but the wings remain a mess, with riders flying besides strangers at new altitudes and the wings led by foreigners and neophytes. Many riders have transferred in from elsewhere to help but few believe it will be enough.

An attempt was made on the Junior Weyrleader's life by the same assassin that murdered his predecessor. The murderer, a weyrfolk who believed all bronzeriders tyrants, was sentenced to death.

The fall also brought new weyrlings to High Reaches as two of their greens clutched a total of six eggs. The weyr needs the numbers badly but six will not suffice. The council is at a standstill as they furiously debate whether or not to solicit a gold egg from another weyr.

And what is Majima up to anyway? Mysterious letters have gone to his informants and enforcers at Benden. And why was he meeting with Alayna of Gold Wyzeth? Is Majima about to cross the line from petty crimes into something bigger?

Semaca Weyr

Gold Nebulaeth has laid her maiden clutch fathered by Cabadath, the father of mutations! All the eggs hatched healthy and Impressed but not all was smooth. The Touching was marred by a confrontation between the gold and two candidates and the Hatching itself saw a candidate mauled, a hatchling traumatized and another candidate kicked off the sands.

Somehow...Semaca still seems to be in a better place than the rest of Pern but how long can their peace last?

Plot Update
(October 5, 2018)

Fort Weyr

Fort Weyr's winter was mired in controversy. Following Nornth's brutal flight, Fort's suspicions extended to her clutch. Candidates were not allowed near the eggs until hatching day and while the dragonets Impressed without major incident, the hatchlings took am unusually long time to find their riders, perhaps due to the lack of a touching. The clutch included an all black dragonet, classified as a white, the first of her color. It seems Nornth like her mother had mutations and change in her blood.

The question of what would become of Fort's youngest goldpair was resolved tragically when a drudge took it upon himself to poison Blaze, killing both dragon and rider.

Once again, Fort Weyr is left with only Serapheth.

Fort Hold

The famine has finally been broken! Fort's pleas were answered and Telgar provided them with enough food to get through the winter. Now spring is coming and it's time to rebuild.

High Reaches Weyr

A turn ends a new council takes its seat, full of both new and familiar faces. Anaiya, the iconoclastic firebrand, has been chosen to lead High Reaches into the next turn. With her adamant opposition to Pern's queens, it seems unlikely Xander's efforts to secure the weyr a new gold will continue.

And while High Reaches managed to survive the spring falls without heavy losses...how long can their luck hold?

Semaca Weyr

After over a turn of stability, O'tlan is stepping down as weyrleader. Semaca has decided to elect a replacement but for the second time in the young weyr's history, its future is uncertain. Who will be chosen and in what direction will they lead the weyr?

Benden Weyr (Off-screen)

Majima of Brown Majimask has forced Benden's goldriders to "voluntarily" give up their power. Telgar has sent a gold pair to take over the weyr and maybe now the weyr can cease to be a place of terror and rigid hierarchies. Only time will tell if Quebeley changes Benden or becomes just another tyrant.
