It is the 8th Pass upon Pern. With the dawning of Turn 24, there is much tension between the North and South. Solaria Weyr has been known as a liberal, trouble making Weyr for many Turns and recently her Weyrleader breached Northern boarders to rescue women and children from an "Inn" know as The Shack, a place of ill-repute under Ista Weyr's protectorate. Currently, Weyrleader K'ran has yet to make any reparations even with pressures placed upon Solaria Weyr with trading issues, causing shortages in goods only found in the North, including firestone.
The Senior Queen, Ceocayath, is due to Rise and there are whispers that some of the more conservative Northern Weyrs may try to unseat K'ran by getting a tail in on her next Flight. Beyond the Weyr's rim, in Ketrin Hold, the Heir has returned from his foster in neighboring Mathon. Renaire will now take the final steps and preparations in becoming Lord of Ketrin over the next couple Turns. One of those duties is to choose a wife. Many a Lord and Master craftsman are vying for the chance to have one of their daughters chosen to be Lord Renaire's Lady.
A bell has been hung at Ketrin's docks as word spreads that shipfish are more than they seem. A few people are even saying they talk and have been paired with these 'dolphins'. More often seacrafters and those who work on the docks are becoming familiar with the dolphins and there's rumor that some people are looking at forming some type of dolphin's craft?
Dragonhealers at Solaria Weyr are coming into their own. Their recently confirmed craft is growing quickly! With such growth and Solaria being the home of the Dragonhealer Hall, a new separate Dragon Infirmary has just finished being built, even with the set backs due to some difficulties involved with the Weyrleader's actions causing delays in trade or goods and services.
