FULL APPEARANCE:
Quentin is a relatively tall and slender woman. Since becoming a dragonrider, she has gained a fair amount of muscle as well. She has pale blonde hair that is wavy and falls midway down her back. She usually pulls it back so its out of the way while she's working - be that sewing or duties associated with being a dragonrider. Her eyes are a bright blue and quite large - it gives off the impression that she is always surprised. She further emphasizes this with a bit of kohl. Many people think it just looks creepy. Her skin is quite pale from spending a lot of time indoors - and in general, she has the type of skin that burns quite easily. She prefers to wear simple dresses, but dresses in ways that are practical for the situation she is in.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Quentin is a quiet, almost meek girl in most situations. It's more that she just isn't the most sociable of people and would rather observe everyone. When she does speak, it is usually very softly - but always with clarity. She is a creative girl - well suited to a being a tailor and weaver. Each garment is a puzzle to be solved and she does so with ease. As such, she is clever and sees interesting solutions to problems. She is a hard worker, sometimes to the point of being considered a workaholic.
While she outwardly appears to be a fairly sweet woman, Quentin is a little darker on the inside. She tends to internalize what she is feeling, which leads to her having outbursts. Quentin is non-confrontational for the most part, but she will think of various ways that she could hurt the person she is angry or irritated with. If she is pushed far enough, she will resort to violence. Since being bonded with Alith, she has gained a bit more of an edge. She speaks her mind more, she tries her hardest to not be a pushover.

Quentin was born to a weaver and a beast handler. She grew up at Fort Weyr with her older brother Tinre and her younger sister Rekna. Her brother took after her father and learned to care for the animals. From a young age, Quentin's mother took her aside and taught her the basics of weaving and tailoring. Though she is equally at home caring for the animals - especially the runnerbeasts.
When she was fourteen, her mother died. Quentin took over a mother role for her younger sister at this point as she was only ten. For the next four years, she took care of Rekna and focused on learning more about weaving and tailoring.
Summer 2754. Quentin was just there to see if Rekna impressed. She would always support her younger sister and really, it was fun to watch hatchings. She sat up in the stands and the little dragonets stayed down on the sands well away from her - after all, she didn’t have time for a dragon. Much to Quentin's delight, Rekna impressed quite early on to a dainty little green. But with the part that Quentin was there to pay attention to being done, Quentin promptly spaced out.
This was a bad choice. Quentin didn’t notice the angry brown dragonet tearing through the remaining candidates or charging up into the stands. She didn’t notice until the dragon was biting her arm. Did you think you could hide from your Alith? Creepygirl will feed me!
What the...NO. No his eyes were NOT rainbows. That was NOT her dragon. She didn't want a dragon! She had never wanted a dragon...no...this wasn't happening. "What...no, no you have the wrong person...I can't have a dragon!"
Shut up and feed me Alith snorted as he started pulling her down the stands by the arm.
"Let go! That hurts!" She gritted her teeth and tried to pull her arm out again.
Poor little Creepygirl, never wanted a dragon. Tough. Now you're stuck with me. Deal with it. Alith chomped down her arm a little tighter. Now hurry up and feed me.
This was going to be a nightmare.
Life certainly wasn’t easy. But it was easy enough to fall into a routine.
Well, that was until Alith decided to chase Ekketoth - the senior gold - and have the gall to actually win. Quentin was thrust into the world of politics - a world she wanted nothing to do with - and into the role of Weyrleader. She tried her best, but ultimately she knew she was a disappointment. Flauros and Ekketoth dying only exacerbated the stress on her.
By the time someone else took over as weyrleader, Quentin was on the brink of a breakdown. For her heatlh’s sake, she arranged for a transfer to Ista Weyr. She needed time to recharge, she needed time to heal.
Seasons shifted to turns…
It took time. A lot of time. But Quentin finally felt like she could go back to Fort.
