FULL APPEARANCE: Katelline is tall and slim, with almost no curves. She is often very stiff in the way she stands, seeming often withdrawn or unconfident. Her skintone is on the darker end, with brown, almost black, eyes. Her hair is dark brown, straight, and long, roughly reaching her waist. As well as this, she has a single piercing in her nose. She wears feminine clothing, nothing too out of the ordinary, in subtle colours and styles.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Katelline is quiet, calm and collected, bordering on being a bit of a wallflower. She tends to hang back in large groups, preferring to blend into the background and observe rather than be the centre of attention. She rarely approaches people first, unless it's absolutely necessary. That being said, she is incredibly curious, and will learn about absolutely anything. If something particularly sparks her interest, she will try to learn absolutely everything she can about that particular thing. Sometimes, however, her curiosity gets the best of her, and has a tendency to do or say things without thinking about them beforehand. She isn't very confident at all, and she doesn't feel comfortable talking about herself, and hates small talk - she would much rather talk about impersonal subjects. She is modest, but to the point of being self-sacrificing; her self esteem is generally low. Though she is intelligent when it comes to memorising facts and taking in new information, she doesn't have much in the way of wisdom, or practical smarts.
Though Katelline is generally a kind person, she is completely oblivious to when people are trying to be her friend, and cannot read others' intentions at all. As well as this, she doesn't often think before she speaks, and will say whatever's on her mind, at the time, even if it sounds negative or pessimistic. She doesn't intend to people-please, or to hurt anyone; she is just honest, and will say truthfully what she thinks will happen, as she doesn't often see the point in lying or exaggerating. However, her heart is genuinely in the right place; she believes everyone has the potential to be a good person, and she believes that kindness and generosity are the most important qualities for a person to have. She is hardworking, has good organisational skills, and meticulously follows rules, rarely straying from them as much as she can. That being said, she struggles to adapt to change, and can get stressed or overwhelmed if she feels uncomfortable or if an unexpected situation arises, as she likes to have structure and routine in her life.

Katelline was born to two long-weyrmated riders, and thus, spent most of her childhood in the creche. Her older sister, Maynira, 10 years her senior, also spent time in the creche for the first five years of Katelline's life - she would often try to get her sister's attention, but Maynira didn't want to pay any mind to her little sister and would rather spend time with the older kids. On the other hand, her parents, despite being busy, would try as best as they could to make time for their daughters; they would visit whenever they got a spot of free time from their busy lives as riders. Other than that, she was a somewhat lonely child, realising that once her sister had left the creche to become a candidate, there wasn't much reason to try to get anyone's attention, and instead, she would just spend a lot of time by herself.
As she got older, she got more curious, and wanted to know more and more about the world. What was it like, being a dragonrider? Her parents saved her the gritty details of dragonriding, but she had to admit, she really wanted to know what it was like. In her pre-teens she started to take note of current events - in 2761, when Golre led her final attack on Fort Weyr, she couldn't stand to see people fighting, like this, even if she didn't have a full grasp on why this was happening. She decided in her pre-teens that she would definitely become a Candidate as soon as she turned 15; and she did exactly that - though she was already interested, after seeing horrible things happen to the Weyr she felt as though she had a responsibility to help protect the Weyr, and she felt as though she could do that, with a dragon. For her, candidacy was something that she had to spend some time adapting to; learning to read and write was little issue, but the more practical tasks took more time for her to get used to.
As Katelline became an adult, she still had not impressed, but continued with candidacy. She didn't give up hope, though; she knew there was a chance she'd never impress, but there was still an equal chance that she would. Thus, she just kept going, and kept learning more about the world. When Z'osh's traditionalist coup took place, she wasn't sure how to feel about the fact that candidate lessons basically told everyone that anyone who impressed a green, a blue, or a mutation was inferior - in fact, she disagreed, but kept quiet about it, for she didn't necessarily want to get in trouble or draw any unwanted bad attention to herself.
