WING: Starfall Wing

APPEARANCE
EYES: Deep Blue
HAIR: Black
HEIGHT AND BUILD: 6’2”, average
PLAY-BY:
FULL APPEARANCE:
Morrigan is a striking woman of average height, her face formed of sharp angles and high cheekbones. Her lips are fairly lush, but she seems perpetually unamused or tired despite her rather pleasant features. She enjoys dresses, and often investigates them at gathers or wears them in the privacy of her own weyr, but is very rarely seen in them in public.

The small of her back is crisscrossed by a dramatic hash of Thread scars, and they often hamper her movement. She thus prefers anything cut very long that has little chance of showing them on accident. She is not actually embarrassed by them at all, considering them earned in the line of duty, but also sees them as a vulnerability she cannot afford to show.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Morrigan has little use for metallic riders, though she does not show them outright hostility; more out of concern about playing her hand too early than lack of experiencing it. She is suspicious of all of them, and brownriders are a very close second target of her ire. She regularly mingles with non-metallic riders and weyrfolk, and in her freetime likes to visit the nearby holds and walk among people to see how they’re faring. She claims it helps keep her grounded.

Morrigan does not forgive easily, if at all, and hates to see an injustice go unpunished. While she understands that not all metallic riders are responsible for the actions of a few, it is very difficult for her to see past the idle hands who were in a position of power to stop Golre’s tyranny and didn’t; or even worse, reveled in it. She will actively turn her back on older metallic riders regardless of their rank or position and how much trouble it may get her in, though younger ones are at least given a chance to prove themselves to her first.

Morrigan loves baking and sweets, despite her rather severe persona. She finds great joy in the chance to make muffins or cookies, though such frivolities are few and far between.

Morrigan hates the very idea of High Reaches’ new gold, and the idea of another Queen who can compel them against their will and take their choices away. She desires to see it gone, though not to the point of actively harming it. It is the exception to the idea of the young ones getting a fair chance.

HISTORY
FAMILY: Mihira (Mother), Kilam (Father), K’ayl (Sister)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: High Reaches Weyr
HISTORY:
Morrigan and K’ayl were sisters born seasons apart in the same turn, with Morrigan being the older. Their parents were weyrfolk at High Reaches, their mother helping raise the children in the creche while their father did general labor. Things… were not great in the Early Spring of 2735. Golre had been in power for four turns, and everything had gone sideways. The war was in full swing, and Kilam and Mihira feared their children becoming Candidates with how they were being treated, but finding a way to flee and take the two infants with them was difficult and impractical.

The girls grew up suppressed and fearful, and somehow still different as can be. K’ayl (then Kayle) thought it was simply the way of things, and strove to become one with it and rise alongside it - to become one of the suppressors, rather than a victim. Morrigan heard how things were in other weyrs, in other places, and longed for it - wishing to bring it home.

The two became Candidates at around the same time, and spent almost a turn standing before Impressing at the same clutch in 2750. K’ayl got exactly what she wanted - a brown, rising her in standing in the eyes of the weyr and her peers. Morrigan impressed green Veith; and from then on, the sisters barely saw one another.

Things did not improve for Morrigan, who pointedly avoided the honorific elide, and Veith. They had their few turns in the war while Veith was young, the high and fast flying green making an effective (and in the eyes of others, expendable) scout. Then Threadfall returned.. And they ended up having to learn how to fight a whole new enemy.

Veith’s quick and nimble flying made her an excellent candidate for the highest flying wing, the Starfall Wing, though this also left them first in the line of fire. During one of the first falls of 2758, Morrigan took a clump of Thread to her back, and while Veith’s quick Betweening and the skills of the healers saved her life, the injury still plagues her to this day.

Morrigan celebrated when Golre died in 2761, but had little time to relax, as things somehow continued to escalate. She was immensely relieved when chromatic riders came from Fort to lead things, though she worried somewhat about how they would view her, considering she had participated in the war - albeit unwillingly. When the council was formed in 2764 she had her eyes on being a part of it, but wanted to see how well it functioned first - not quite willing to jump in until she was sure things could stay afloat.

She wasn’t impressed with how things went, and the world continued to burn around them. Murders and plagues and assassination attempts left Morrigan wondering where the world had gone wrong and what could she do to fix it. While she and Veith avoided any further injuries from Threadfall, it was always a constant concern on top of it all. The pair became stressed and lonely, and the back-to-back-to-back blows of Gold Egg, Egg Thieves, and Gold Egg left them reeling.

With Aldoeith now in High Reaches, Morrigan has gotten tired of waiting for things to get better or settle down. The time to act is now, lest they find themselves pressured under another shining thumb.

VEITH
Forgiveness? You don’t deserve it.

BASICS

NAME: Veith
BIRTHDATE Late Summer 2750
AGE: 20 as of Late Winter 2770

APPEARANCE
LENGTH: 33 ft
HEIGHT: 6.25 ft
WINGS: 45 ft
COLOR: Green
HEX CODE: #206c23
FULL APPEARANCE:
The dominant shade of Veith’s hide is a dark, dusky green, that lightens somewhat near her hand, paws, wingtips and nose. It’s spotted with old scars that have long since faded to near invisibility. Her eyes seem to smoke with dark markings that trail both up toward her headknobs and down her cheeks. Darker markings resembling chains wrap a large portion of her body, while lines scatter across her wings like shattered glass. All in all, it’s a very busy pattern.

While small of statue, Veith is a little longer than most greens, helping her swiftly turn and pivot in the air. While not of abnormal size for a green, her proportionately larger wingspan helps somewhat with her speed and stamina.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Veith is a quiet dragon, though that isn’t to say she is without opinions - she just prefers not to speak to anyone who isn’t Morrigan. Unless they’ve shown her otherwise, she finds others to be not worth the effort. When she meets someone new she analyzes them down to a short list of their most obvious and dominant personality traits, and uses that to determine whether or not they’re worth her time or, more importantly, Morrigan’s time. Said list is not always accurate and, given the nature of dragon memory, often changes.

For all that she is quiet, Veith is also very physical, using contact and dramatic motions for emphasis when she does feel like conveying something. Expect many wing-bops, tail swats, or small pushes.
