BIRTHDATE: Late Winter 2737
AGE: 32 as of Late Fall 2770
LOCATION: Semaca Weyr
OCCUPATION: Rider

APPEARANCE
EYES: Brown
HAIR: Brown
HEIGHT AND BUILD: 6'0", average
PLAY-BY: Charlie Cox
FULL APPEARANCE:
B'yko is really fairly average, in both height and build. He's slightly tanned, though he tends more toward freckling than anything. His face is already somewhat lined, especially smile lines around his eyes. He has an oval-shaped face, with a broad, short nose and narrow lips. His eyes are a medium brown, close beneath thick, unruly eyebrows. He has a rather large forehead despite his hairline not receding. His hair is dark brown, lightening slightly to a lighter sort of warm brown where it's been exposed to the sun a lot, though he keeps it cut fairly short. He often sports a fair amount of beard scruff; he hates shaving, and does so only when it gets long enough for things to start getting caught in it. His body hair is of more note; he has quite a bit of it, all dark brown.

He dresses rather practically, mostly in cool or neutral colors and lightweight fabrics—the better to survive Semaca's climate with.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
B'yko is a cheerful, outgoing man who genuinely likes and is interested in just about everyone he meets. He finds it difficult to believe that anyone could possibly mean him ill, and has a sort of youthful naievete that probably ceased to be charming several Turns ago. Still, he's a friendly fellow, even if maybe a little bit overly so. He likes to please, and obeys orders readily.

Though he isn't generally the protective type—he likes people, but he wouldn't put himself in harm's way for most of them—he'd give anything for his dragon's sake. The blue is the most important thing in his life, and nothing else even comes close. He'd sooner let Thread fall on a field than let it touch Glyciniath; luckily for most fields, the blue's instincts in a Fall are stronger than his rider's desires.

He has a good memory, and while he isn't exactly intelligent—his critical thinking skills can be rather lacking—he has an incredible ability to regurgitate facts he's heard, and an endless drive to learn more. This goes doubly for people; he's almost obsessed with gathering every piece of information he can about a person. Though this was largely unchanneled in his youth, it now results in extremely lengthy communications to Majima. He's careful and fastidious in nearly every aspect of his life outside of his personal appearance, wanting to do things exactly as specified, and if that means long letters then so be it.

HISTORY
FAMILY:
Mother, Giraeko of Green Harqueth
Father, M'boy of Bronze Ghahuth Deceased
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: None
BIRTHPLACE: High Reaches Weyr
HISTORY:
Boyko had a happy, rather uneventful childhood growing up in the creche at High Reaches. His parents were both riders, and both somewhat distant, though he still knew them on at least some level. There were occasional visits, and frequent reminders that he had a rider's blood, and that someday he should follow in their footsteps.

So he did. He joined the ranks of the Candidates as soon as he turned fifteen, and for the first time experienced teasing. Some of the older Candidates took to calling him "Boy" on account of his at the time extremely youthful appearance. He responded by not really being bothered, just smiled and continued being himself and occasionally seemed to know just a little more about people than he really should. If anyone thought it odd then, they kept quiet.

It only took until his second clutch for a gangly little blue to find him, and the two were then irrevocably intertwined. Boyko became B'yko and the occasional taunts about his name dropped away, but only to be replaced with taunts about his dragon's color. Only a blue. His mother was proud, his father disapproving, and B'yko didn't care about anything but Glyciniath and learning everything he could about the riders in the Weyr, especially those likely to become his future wingmates. It became an obsession then, gathering data, and he didn't hide how much he knew either. Some people found this unnerving, but as with the teasing for his name, B'yko just didn't care.

Glyciniath was even more oblivious to what the world thought of them, and B'yko was determined to keep it that way. He would have done anything for his dragon, and when the war ended he was just glad that the blue would be kept safe.

He was wrong. Thread returned, and worse, Golre decided to reignite hostilities with Fort Weyr. The pair flew to war, and though they came out mostly physically unharmed, they'd seen and done things that B'yko couldn't forget, no matter how hard he tried. His father was killed in the attack on Fort as well. He withdrew after they returned to High Reaches, but after a few months was back to his old self save for occasional nightmares.

It was a chaotic time for High Reaches, but one person seemed determined to make the most of that chaos: Majima. Though not originally from there, the man seemed intent on building an empire of useful people. B'yko's continued habits of learning about people—and not always keeping quiet about what he knew—eventually made their way to Majima, who offered him a chance to make the world the sort of place he wanted it to be for Glyciniath. Watch for the older man, instead of just for himself. Keep his mouth shut, and report back to him. Eager to please and generally an obedient sort, he did exactly that.

Eventually, Majima decided that he needed to keep an eye on farther-flung places, and told B'yko that he needed someone to keep an eye on happenings at Semaca. B'yko agreed, partially because Threadfall there was nowhere near as deadly as at High Reaches. Moonshot Wing had been decimated in the last Fall, and he and Glyciniath hadn't been spared, B'yko being badly scored across his back and Glyciniath on the back of his neck. Getting away from that? It sounded attractive.

GLYCINIATH
Image

BASICS

NAME: Glyciniath
BIRTHDATE Late Spring 2753
AGE: 17 as of Late Fall 2770

APPEARANCE
LENGTH: 37 ft
HEIGHT: 8.75 ft
WINGSPAN: 56 ft
COLOR: Blue
HEX CODE: #0C1858
FULL APPEARANCE:
Glyciniath is an awkward, gangly sort of blue. He certainly isn't well-built, and seems at home neither on the ground nor in the air. He's not clumsy, but he's certainly not anything even remotely like graceful.

He is, however, still often considered quite a beautiful blue. The base of his hide is a dark navy, lightening to a pale blue on his tailfork, right feet, and left rear toes. The same light color is present on his headknobs, and in a squiggly sort of line around his mouth that looks almost like inverted teeth. The rest of his head is a bright royal blue, and reflected in chevrons all the way down his back. However, most beautiful are his wings, speckled with blues of varying hues until they look like the night sky.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Glyciniath is a rather oblivious sort of blue. He often fails to take notice of the world around him, instead daydreaming his way through life. He isn't especially outgoing, preferring the company of his rider alone, and can be a little awkward when he does attempt to socialize. He is sweet and affectionate toward those he's familiar with though.

He's very much fond of the idea of flight over fight, and has been called a coward in the past, but this doesn't seem to bother him. Very little really does; he's not exactly upbeat, but nothing really fazes him. He's just steady, rising neither to great heights of anger or love. Passion is a nigh-unfamiliar concept to him, for he believes that all things should be approached calmly.
