FULL APPEARANCE:
Kash is 5' 11" tall and naturally lighter in build. Though he might've been taller otherwise, being unable to consistently secure food has left its mark on his body, making it easy to describe him as gaunt. But after almost four Turns living in Semaca, he's gotten stronger and not looking quite so pathetic, his clothes not hanging so loose on his frame. Kash's skin is lightly tanned, his cheekbones and his nose dotted in freckles, as he loves being outdoors and spends every second he can romping. Since he brushes it once a day (upon getting out of bed every morning), his hair is almost always a mess; about an hour into his day, Kash's black locks are all across his face in a chaos of dark waves. As bright blue like clear lagoon water, his eyes are always full of curiosity and fun. Built for reaching for things lost on high shelves or fruit on trees, for running far and fast, his arms and legs long; but given his gangly stature and poor eyesight, Kash has a tendency to run into things, resulting in small bandages frequently dotting his face, hands, and knees, to name a few places.

Kash is a very upbeat and optimistic person. A happy-go-lucky force of nature, he has a keen sense of adventure and a good heart. Always bouncing his way about Semaca (Kash doesn't walk like most would, he bounces or skips everywhere he goes), he loves trying to elicit a good laugh from those around him. Very adventurous, Kash seems like a bottomless pit of energy, up at sunrise and eager to help wherever he's needed. Though he's quite clumsy and known for bumping into both others and objects often, he doesn't let those little bumps in his path get him down...much.
Kash is a very passionate person in everything he does. "Work hard, play harder" is his mantra, which it suits him well. Food is a surefire way to earn his devotion. Loving food of all sorts since his childhood, he won't let a single crumb go to waste, as he had very little growing up; he'll happily finish off what food no one else wants, going so far as to swipe things that are burnt or otherwise unpalatable before it can be thrown away. If confronted about it, he's firm in his beliefs that edible food mustn't go to waste, ever; he can be incredibly defensive if pushed about it. In addition, Kash loves to sing, though he's not that good at it. One can often hear his shrilling while he's bathing, working on chores, or sometimes in his sleep.
Unfortunately, Kash struggles in his own way. Being quite reckless on occasion, he can start a five-way fight at no adequate cause or throw himself in front of someone else to take a terrible blow, giving no thought for his own safety. It's everyone in his life that he cares about most, cherishing those he loves so much, meaning he'll put himself in danger for them if need be. Kash also suffers immense anxiety, as he thinks others simply tolerate his company and inwardly think he's too bubbly and outgoing. It's always on his mind while he's engaging someone, trying not to go too far in his exuberance. In addition, he often hoards food in a hidden spot in his living quarters, a habit born of necessity, thanks to his childhood.

Kash was born to a young couple in a small fishing cothold of Nerat, Northern Continent. Being so young, Kash remembers little of his father, but what he does remember isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Most of what he remembers is arguments between his parents about various domestic matters, particularly how to make ends meet while caring for a young child. It was too much for Kash's father, who left and didn't return. So Kash's mother adapted, almost always managing to somehow bring food home to her son by working hard and accepting help from those who saw her struggles. Though Kash has always remembered not getting much growing up, he had his mother's love, which was more than enough for him. Due to such a difficult situation that mother and son found themselves in, both learned to ration food supplies and make do on little, in spite of assistance from neighbors and friends, as well as her hard work as an unskilled fisher. Kash was molded from a young age to appreciate what he had and not take food for granted.
As soon as Kash was able, he began working too, trying to help his mother and take some of her load. Kash performed various odd jobs within his cothold, continuing for Turns. In his fifteenth Turn, he was running a message and happened upon a clutch of firelizard eggs. Beyond excited, he carefully packed them up, profusely apologizing to a clutchmother that rapidly fled, before brought his find home. Though he distributed them all to everyone in his cothold that wanted one, Kash managed to keep one, which hatched into Kash's beloved blue, Skipper. Kash was ecstatic, exorbitantly glad for his new best friend. But after a time, Kash felt restless. Though he had his work to occupy his time and both his mother's and Skipper's company, there was something missing. That's where a dragon on Search swooped in. Wanderlust plucking at his soul, Kash decided he'd throw caution away (as usual) and accept Search to Benden Weyr. But it didn't take long for such an upbeat young man to grow crestfallen and saddened. There was an oppressive air here, not to mention Benden's history! Finding Benden wasn't right for him, Kash applied to transfer to Semaca Weyr, to explore a new land and try his hand at a distant dream: life as a dragonrider or wherhandler.
