(May 31, 2019)

Fort Weyr
The winter has been quiet to Fort Weyr. It seems that everyone has been adjusting, simply going along this new path. Negan has surprisingly been working with Tuckal to help the Weyr grow and build, and there seems like things are improving. There are still talks and whispers about what would happen should Serapheth lay another gold, but they are mere rumors and nothing more.

Fort Hold
After a wonderful, large Gather, the Hold has seen some improvement. Though the winter was long, the increase of traffic and supplies coming in has helped move them into some greater stability. It isn't much in the long run, but it counts.

High Reaches Weyr
With another disastrous Threadfall from before the winter taking its toll, many have started to worry about the state of the Weyr. With Anaiya's utter resistance to metallics and refusal to entertain the idea of a gold dragon, Schneizel of Bronze Damocleth and his brother, Lelouch of Blue Isith, have secretly taken matters into their own hands. They have been working in secret to try to secure assistance from other Weyrs, in the hopes a gold egg could be donated. With elections looming, the fate of the Reaches is uncertain.

Semaca Weyr
Semaca has flooded. Ruin has come. Structures have been damaged, livestock lost, fields completely destroyed. The damage is extensive, and there is already contention among the ranks over if they should ask the North for help. The recovery will not be quick or easy, and if the flooding grows worse, Semaca might be doomed.

Fort Weyr
Fort Hold has risen up in rebellion against its leaders! The people of the hold successfully overthrew Lord Vellaren and established a new democratic government in the hold. Still distrusting of wherhandlers from Evander's rule, the new leaders banished all of Fort Hold's wherhandlers.

The uprising helped to catalyze the strengthening of a faction of traditionalists in Fort Weyr. After a bad Threadfall, the traditionalists successfully advocated to have one of the upper level wings placed under bronzerider leadership. Is this the start of a return to the old ways for Fort?

High Reaches Weyr
Elections have swept through High Reaches, placing Schneizel of Bronze Damocleth at the head of the weyr. The backroom dealings with Telgar seemed to have paid off, and a gold egg among a clutch was delivered. Unfortunately, the egg contained no gold, leaving the weyr now desperate to refill their numbers after several disastrous threadfalls. If stability cannot be found soon, the weyr may be in danger of collapsing.

(Feb 29, 2020)

Fort Weyr
Serapheth's flight has rocked the Weyr once again! Z'osh of Bronze Diyarth, a traditionalist, has won the day, and the split between the more progressive and traditional citizens grows. Some hope still that this will lead to a peaceful resolution between the two sides, but the tension is slowly boiling.

The Touching was met with a strange, mass-dream among the candidates, and the hatching revealed some dragonets also shared the dream, retaining the memories of those candidates they met. Some think this is good, that it facilitated the hatchlings finding their bonds quicker. And surprisingly, Garnet Neozeoth has laid two eggs so soon after! Hopefully the bolstered numbers will help continue to strengthen the weyr.

High Reaches Weyr
The short-lived joy of a successful hatching was dashed months later by the spring threadfall. The wings were decimated once more, and it is rapidly growing clear that the Reaches cannot sustain themselves on meager green and garnet clutches, especially since it has been months since any rising dragon did surprise them with a clutch.

The desperation is growing, and the tension among the riders, fearing the further coming of Thread, is overwhelming many.

Semaca Weyr
Pirates are now a part of life at Semaca. The captain has established trade agreements with Semaca Weyr, bringing much needed supplies from the North without needing dragons to ferry them back and forth. But they are still pirates, and there has been talk about integrating them into the weyr, or perhaps building the first Hold on the Southern Continent.

One can only hope that it will turn for the best, as there is no shortage of those who oppose relying on criminals, and worry about damaging their relationships with the Northern Weyrs. There is little to do now but wait, and continue to rebuild and brace for the upcoming stormy season.

Fort Weyr

Time and tragedy have struck the Weyr. Garnet Neozeoth's eggs were stolen from her, the clutch mother and her rider drugged while eggs were stolen in the night. They were not recovered, instead having been stolen away to High Reaches Weyr. Relations between the two Weyrs has been destroyed, and candidates are no longer allowed to transfer. Riders have fled back to Fort, and time will only tell if such ties can be repaired.

High Reaches Weyr

Stolen eggs! The threadfall tragedies have taken their toll, and desperate times have called for extremely desperate measures. Majima's men have stolen eggs from Fort Weyr, and pinned the blame on then-Weyrleader Schneizel of Bronze Damocleth. Such an act has dethroned the man, and emergency elections were held to try to mitigate the damage. It has been done, and despite resistance from Anaiya of Green Adasheth, eggs have been donated from Ista Weyr. 17 eggs, including one gold egg, wait on the sands for the fated day.

Semaca Weyr

The pirates are here to stay. While Semaca wants for a proper trading system, for now they have made their bed with pirates, trading for supplies. There is little else they can do, for now, as they are doing their best to stay far out of Northern politics as possible. Though the pirates seek to establish their own hold, Semaca must debate on how far they will let this go.

Fort Weyr
Tensions that were long beneath the surface of the Weyr finally erupted, after months of Threadfall. Weyrleader Z'osh of Bronze Diyarth, backed by a large group of highly traditional riders, attempted to convince Tuckal to banish garnetriders and mutation dragons from the Weyr and return to the more traditional ways of previous Passes. Tuckal refused, and Z'osh sprang his trap, seizing control of Fort Weyr.

The Senior Weyrwoman, now under house-arrest, has refused to budge. Even now, with large chunks of the wings grounded, and the wherhandlers ready to stage their own revolt independent from the riders who are working to overthrow Z'osh, the future of Fort Weyr seems more uncertain than ever before.

High Reaches Weyr
After months of misfortune and negotiations, finally the gold egg has contained gold! Gold Aldoeith hatched, a donated clutch from Ista Weyr, impressing to controversy and mixed emotions among the Weyr. At the time Weyrleader Anaiya of Green Adasheth took a leave of absence to Semaca Weyr, to keep from doing something she may regret. A healthy clutch of 17 eggs impressed to fill High Reaches wings when they grow.

Elections were once again held, bringing Ha'ret of Green Kisinateth to Weyrleadership, and Xander returning to the Council. With a new wing, and hopefully better luck, there is light for High Reaches it seems. However, as Aldoeith has been growing, she and her rider have been seeking traditional power. Hopefully a solution can be found before she graduates.

Semaca Weyr
As the rains have moved on, a joy has come to Semaca in the form of a healthy clutch of dragons! Gold Nebulaeth has risen, and was caught by Blue Rauseth! With only 9 eggs, the surprise was more than one could have guessed, with three sets of twins! The weyr only seemed to be doing better and better, until the attack.

Spotties, undeterred by the wall that had been constructed, had organized. The intelligent felines were more than tired of being hunted. A group of them burrowed under the wall, and attacked the new weyrlings during a lesson. While no one died, and the intervention of larger dragons saved them, the injuries were numerous and extensive. A new solution needs to be reached, for the continued safety of the Weyr.

Fort Weyr

It has been a season and a half since Z'osh was removed from Fort Weyr after a revolution. Tuckal of Gold Serapheth has returned to power, but the Weyr is not entirely the same. Wherhandlers now have a Wherleader, and a stronger voice in matters. An Assistant Weyrleader - Hector of Green Nanakoth, chosen by Tuckal herself - has been assigned to be a balancing voice should such a traditionalist be chosen by flight again. Lanec of Brown Tobith is currently serving as the interim Weyrleader. There are still many things to be fixed, to be healed, and it is always hard work. However, Fort Weyr is slowly getting there, willing to make those changes and work for it. With no sign of Serapheth rising anytime soon, time will tell if any of these changes stick.

High Reaches Weyr

Luck seems rarely on the side of the Reaches. Toki of Gold Aldoeith has decided that she will fight for the right to be Weyrwoman, and as a result the Council has agreed to allow her to transfer to Benden Weyr, where she and Aldoeith will be mentored and allowed to be in an environment that better suits them. In exchange, Aldoeith will give her maiden clutch to High Reaches Weyr, and officially transfer after that. The tensions are not so high as to cause a rift in the Weyr, but as the Nightwings graduate - a large clutch to bolster their wings - many wonder if this will be the eternal cycle. They need some sense of stability, and something to lessen the stress of winter and the coming Threadfall sure to start when things get warmer.

Semaca Weyr

A healthy clutch from Garnet Shisenitath has given Semaca five more dragonets. After a period of negotiations, the pirates are now allowed to stand for clutches, under the condition they remain at the Weyr. A rotation of dragons has been set up to protect the fledgling pirate hold from feline attacks, allowing more goods to come to Semaca through less than legal means. There is still much to be done to prevent another attack, and the Weyr continues to sort through different measures to determine which one will work in the rainy season, and in the summer season. It is a long path to safety and peace, but they will get there some day, hopefully.

Fort Weyr

With a healthy garnet clutch, Fort Weyr has had a mercifully quiet peace. Wings are strong, Threadfall has not been so devatating. The only problem brewing, however, is that Serapheth grows brighter by the day. The Assistant Weyrleader voting has begun, and the weyr will find new leadership when the gold rises. Whether there will be a repeat of the previous Turn's madness, no one knows. Everyone waits with baited breath for the flight.

High Reaches Weyr

Aldoeith's maiden clutch has given High Reaches a new gold: Galdeneth. In an unprecedented event, the gold weyrling chose a man as her bonded. Toki and Aldoeith have departed, leaving behind a healthy clutch and a future of uncertainties. To make matters worse, the perpetrators of the egg theft have been revealed - N'ell of Garnet Pamith had unknowingly spilled the beans, Majima of Brown Majimask used his influence to manipulate Renatus of Bronze Zalth to steal the eggs (with a little help), and as such former Weyrleader Schneizel of Bronze Damocleth has been outed as a less than virtuous man. Though Majima's network remains in-tact, he, Schneizel, and Renatus have been forced to transfer to Semaca, while N'ell has been sent back to Fort Weyr for punishment.

Semaca Weyr

The weyr has prospered! After negotiations with the pirates, Semaca has established a stable, somewhat legal ocean route to transport people and goods from North to South and vice-versa. They have finally opened their proverbial doors to everyone anywhere on Pern. In addition, they have established a new holiday: Dragon Day, to screen newcomers for candidacy. The tragedy of newcomers getting attacked by spotties (some whom were killed), has tightened hold security, and a rotation of handlers remain ever-vigilant for the threat.

(April 30, 2022)

Fort Weyr

After enough uncertainty, Serapheth has clutched a second gold. After a hatching that was fortunately peaceful and without major injury, Gold Ustreilith has impressed. It feels as though a new era has come to the Weyr, and there is no longer a fear that Nornth's shadow will fall over Fort once more. With a second Weyrwoman, bolstered by Weyrleaders, it seems that stability has finally settled on Fort Weyr, and it is a break that is so desperately needed.

High Reaches Weyr

The elections have come and gone, and a new leadership has taken over High Reaches. Time will tell what ambitions will come to the weyr, but for a time things seem to be stable. Gold Galdaneth grows bigger by the day, and there are hopes that her clutches will help stabilize the dragon population as Thread remains a constant threat.

Semaca Weyr

The pirates have made themselves quite a thriving hold, keeping Semaca supplied in exchange for whers and dragons. The recent pirate conclave has kept its secrets from the Weyr leadership, and rumors are brewing about where they will take their ships next. The success of the Dragon's Day gathers has bolstered the candidate ranks, and with the addition of more manpower, the Weyr seems to be thriving for the first time in a long time.

(November 30, 2022)

The appearance of lost dragonriders from Passes before has stirred the Weyrs! Lost knowledge that was not in the archives is being gathered, riders from times past have already started integrating into their new homes, learning and growing in this new age.

Fort Weyr
The weyr is on a new stage of growth and prosperity. Ustreilith has shown no sign of being like her dam, and many are feeling relief. As it nears time for her to rise for her maiden, various Weyrleader hopefuls are primed and ready to chase in the hopes she will not be as restrictive as Serapheth.

High Reaches Weyr
The crop blight and the resistance of holds to tithe properly has brought disruption in the Weyr. Supplies are stretched thin, and leadership has not come to solid answers for what can be done. Each leader has started on their own avenues be it trading with other Weyrs or trying to strike an agreement with Semaca to gather from the South. With Galdaneth's maiden clutch being only male dragons, and disastrous Threadfall leading to multiple deaths, it seems things are moving in an uncertain direction.

Semaca Weyr
Time travelers and pirates both have shaken up the Weyr. There is so much to learn, knowledge to trade, and growth. The Weyr welcomed Gold Xialath, from Gold Nebulaeth, their ranks starting to grow and stabilize. Semaca is thriving, and holding their own as Northern Weyrs have expressed interest in the bounty of the Summerlands.

Fort Weyr

Gold Ustreilith has risen! The gold's maiden flight lead to a great upset, choosing a blue sire. Kreta of Blue Eseath has become the first bluerider Weyrleader in Fort's history. With a clutch of 15 eggs, they hatched with little difficulty. One egg was thought to be a dud, though it hatched to a green with significant memory issues.

Stability seems to have finally come back to Fort.

High Reaches Weyr

Thanks to Semaca's Marzuka Squad, a breakthrough has come to solve the blight, involving bat droppings. Not the most glamorous solution but it has been solved. A treaty has been signed between Semaca's pirates and the High Reaches Council, securing an alliance and trade between them.

A mudslide in High Reaches Hold has nearly destroyed the location, causing surviving holders to flock to the Weyr for help and shelter, which has lead to tension and significant overcrowding in the weyr's halls.

Semaca Weyr

Due to diligent research, Marzuka Squad has solved High Reaches blight with the use of bat droppings. The breakthrough is hailed as a boon for both Semaca and High Reaches.

The pirates, having firmly established their hold, have named it Lominsa Hold. After a round of combat to establish who will lead them for another turn, Captain Merlwyb has once again stood victorious and has signed a treated with High Reaches for an alliance.

Due to a prank by Deir of Bronze Rollieth, firestone training was delayed for the Residents Class, leading to Green Vranath rising early and laying three healthy eggs. The eggs all hatched successfully, with a unique mutation dragon among them.

(August 31, 2023)

Fort Weyr

Stability has come to Fort Weyr. With Kat and Ustreilith now firmly in their Junior Weyrwoman position, the weyr finally seems to be back on track. There are concerns that Serapheth has not yet risen, and shows no signs of rising, and there are whispers of stagnation in leadership. With a rough Threadfall behind them, the Weyr is finally settling into a rhythm and there is a feeling of good luck on the horizon.

High Reaches Weyr

A new Council has been installed after the election season, and the Weyr is on the up. Though they are still crowded with refugees from a ruined and buried hold, tensions have not yet reached a worrying point. There are new policies on the horizon, and rumors that the Weyr may open their doors to the Holdless in the future, but the Council has not yet confirmed or denied these rumors. With the blighted crops behind them, the Weyr must focus on stabilizing the region.

Semaca Weyr

A disastrous Spotty attack during Threadfall has left the Weyr injured. Candidates, riders, pirates, all were set upon by the beasts in a coordinated attack. No retribution has been given as of yet, as the beasts are hard enough to hunt. All they can do is rebuild and fortify against the wilds of the jungles around the weyr.

But it is not all doom, as Gold Xialath rose in her maiden flight, caught by Bronze Hjalmarth. A whopping 20 eggs were laid, and the Weyr is celebrating this boon for their ranks.

(June 30, 2024)

Fort Weyr

The Weyr has seen very little drama as of late, until a handler lost control of their wher, causing chaos in the Lower Caverns. Tensions rose, and slowly have been falling to a more even keel. Serapheth has still shown no signs of rising, and there is a worry that she may be ill or too stressed to rise. The people of Fort can only wait with baited breath to see what happens in the remaining months of the Turn.

High Reaches Weyr

After rescuing Holdless in a snowstorm and integrating them into the Weyr proper. With a change in policy, despite the crowding, the Weyr is now welcoming Holdless to return to society proper. Though they are hardly accepting everyone, Holdless who have reformed or were born in the wilds are welcome to the halls of High Reaches. Whether this will result in good or ill remains to be seen.

Semaca Weyr

With continued exploration and trade underway, Semaca has come quite into its own. Several hatchings have significantly bolstered the Weyr's ranks of riders and handlers, and there is a great wide continent to continue to explore. There are only good things on the horizon it seems, and though the autumn storms are coming, it seems the Weyr has never been stronger.
