A Not So Private Bath [Mothy]

One of the perks of being a handler was that Mawkin often was able to wash at hours were very few others were awake, much less looking for a bath. She much preferred to have the bath to herself, if possible. It was easier to avoid others than have to deal with questions, both well-meaning and not, about her gender while she was just trying to clean herself up. So, she had developed a habit of bathing at odd hours to avoid the discussion at all costs.

She made her way into the steamy cavern, and quickly stripped down and made her way into the water. Sure enough, the hall was devoid of any other people. She sighed pleasantly as the warmth relaxed her muscles. The water was perfect. Grabbing a fistful of sand, she went to scrubbing down her body.

As she washed, she heard the sound of footsteps echoing off the stone walls of the weyr. She sunk herself lower into the water, letting the surface rest just below her shoulders. As another woman entered the wash hall, Mawkin cursed to herself, displeased that she would have to share the baths after all. She turned facing away from the woman, hoping to allow both of them a bit of privacy.
