Despite previous attempts, Kebar and Kebask remained a lone duo. The usual day in and day out would keep on their routine. If she were honest, Kebask was perfectly fine with that. Of course whenif Kebar managed to get another wher to join them, the Green knew she would be gracious and helpful and show them all the ropes~ But, for now, she was content to be the only wher around. The #1 in their small pack of two.

The unquestionably, most ladylike and pretty wher in the woodworks. Kebask was realistic though, so when one of her more preferred type of evenings looked up with the rising moons, the Green knew better than to let it go to waste.

With a blessing from her handler (in the form of a wordless hand wave), Kebask frolicked off into the swaying grass under the night sky. She had little ways in power, compared to other whers, which let her keep quick and spritely. She was going to make them work for it~

Semanca whers, come for chase, she called out in her supervisor tone. Kebask expect your best!

Radagast needn't say anything for his old partner to take the hint and chase. He required no permission and it was safe to assume the blue would know what to do when the time came. Besides, his handler was taking the night off and was ... occupied with his weyrmate.

Radask burst forth from the weyrbowl. His tongue lolled excitedly out of his mouth, dripping saliva that loosed to the grass and rock as he swung by. The dog-like wher bypassed all those enticing looking creatures that beckoned to be blooded. Instead his eyes hyperfocused on the thermal traces left behind by Kebask's sprinting form, leaving a trail that called for him to bound behind.

Brown Rosesk

Rosesk was a relatively young wher. He'd spent his entire life surrounded by ladies, though, ladies of very different temperaments, so when the urge to chase finally came upon him, he had every confidence he knew how to treat his prospective mate right. When Kebask sent out the call for chasers, he felt the need to chase rise in him. His bonds - old hands at this - offered encouragement (or simply a grumbled acknowledgement, in Rosethorn's case) and he was off on his first run with no fuss at all.

Howdy, darlin'! he called up to Kebask in his peculiar accent. Pretty night for pretty lady to run. Wanna chase, if'n it ok. Am Rosesk.

Blue Mask

Mask did not know Kebask especially well. He held no special affection for him. But she was a green. She was running. She was here. Chasing her sounded like more fun than watching Maui pick tubers.

And so, with a nod goodbye to his partner wher and no acknowledgement whatsoever to his handler, Mask took off, at a fast, fluid run, pace unforgiving and punishing on his limbs, as a chase was meant to be run, in his mind.

The green did not set as hard a pace as Mask did, but she did not have to. Today, she was the prize, he was the pursuer.

As she demanded- he would give her his best.

Because he preferred to win, at all his endeavors.

Always give best, Mask agreed, matching words with actions as he sprinted across the southern plane, What point trying if not try best?

Brown Gesk

A run was a challenge and Gesk was always up for a challenge. As Genn slept, the wher left the weyr and began to head out, grunting a bit as he noticed that he was late for the party.

Well, that didn't matter, Gesk beginning to chase after Kebask. The wher did not speak out loud, only speaking to Kebask silently.

'Kebask beautiful like flower. Gesk chase if allowed.'

Otherwise, the wher remained silent, following Kebask and making sure that he kept up with the younger whers.

Mutti of Bronze Muttsk

Muttsk was displeased. What was the point of hauling a cart of manure from animals he wasn't even allowed to eat? People could talk about breeding programs all they wanted--Faranth knew Mutti did quite enough of it--but the fact was that herdbeasts existed to be food. Except for these herdbeasts apparently. What a waste.

Mutti was also displeased, shoveling the manure into the cart with an irritated sort of ferocity. Why was she even in this blasted squad? She was a Crafter, and yet she was stuck being utterly useless.

At the green's call, Muttsk's head snapped up with alacrity. An excuse to get out of this? Why yes, even if she was a mere green, he would be more than glad to take this opportunity. If he won, well, greens weren't so bad. And if he didn't, at least he would get out of this particular duty—or doodie—for a while.

Will chase, then. Is good night for. It wasn't technically a lie. Getting out of an unwanted task for it did make it a rather good night for a run. He let his stride lengthen as he loped through the long grass, muscles bunching with every footfall.

Green Kebask

The slender little Green was quite pleased with her turn out that evening. Blues and Browns and a Bronze, some very fresh to maturity and some quite experiened~ Perhaps a few more could have had the decency to show up, but it was probably best to avoid overcrowding. After all, she was one pretty wher and she would have to pick only one as a partner.

Kebask did a quick little leap over a small rock wedged in the dirt. Despite the long distance she'd gone already, she hardly felt any fatigue. She'd learned that speed wasn't always the way to hold a pleasant chase. However, she could tell there was dirt and grass bits starting to accumulate on her legs- the worst part of the outdoors. She probably could have kept going, but Kebask would not end her run looking like she'd tumbled down a hill!

It was time to choose the winner!

Kebask took a quick glance back to view her potential mates. Many had very striking patterns, lovely and coordinated that was pleasant to the eye. While she certainly had preferences on whom she thought was the best 'decorated', some were quite lacking in manners! This was her run and she was the most lovely and everyone should have been saying so! No... she would have to pick a proper middle ground. In that regard, the choice was obvious---

Gesk know how to get job done! Run longer with Kebask, we look best together!
