[Rumor] Drowned Fields

A big open space, this leads to the desert and jungle both, as well as having a small farmed area and space for feeding and training!

[Rumor] Drowned Fields

Semaca used to have fields here. Crops. There's no sign of what was growing before now, and while the cleanup is starting... what if it just happens again?

The destruction was difficult to even look at. Sahak had been a farmer all his life before coming to Semaca; he was no stranger to catastrophe. But this... It wasn't a portion of a field flooded, or some of the new-planted crop uprooted by a windstorm. This was everything. And unlike a Hold which could turn to the surrounding areas for assistance, Semaca had nothing. No one.

Could hunt? Sahtsk suggested, though Sahak could feel the blue's distaste for the idea. He supposed the formerly wild wher had left that life behind for a reason.

Sahak shook his head. "Maybe. Though any animals would be having the same trouble we are, right?" He pulled at yet another tree limb that had been deposited in the field by the storm. It was buried deep. Wonderful. "Gonna need help digging this one out too."

It was hardly the first time Ghys had rebuilt her life after disaster struck. She had picked herself up after war, famine, and the death of her family. She and Ghysk were no strangers to disaster.

But that didn't stop the tremble in her hands as she worked to clear the damage. She and her runners had helped prepare this field, drawing the heavy plow through soil so that the few farmers could plant their crops. The utter devastation was difficult to stomach.

When Sahak said he would need help in digging out a tree, Ghys seized on the excuse for structure. Something, anything that would help break her from the choice paralysis. When so much needed to be done, deciding where to start was overwhelming. Ghysk still hadn't wrapped her head around a plan.

"Probably going to need to do most of these in pairs." How could water alone force limbs this far into the soil?
