Y'suba was bored out of her mind. Even in fall, Semaca was hot and temperate in weather, but surprisingly, that got a bit boring. She was lying near the lake, soaking up the sun beside her dragon--both sunning happily--with her eyes closed, but...she was still bored! As she heard the sound of someone approaching, she opened one eye...and then the other, sitting up. Spotting Lori, she gave an exaggerated wave. "Lori! Lori! Come join me! I am. So. Bored. And I'd looooove to talk to you!" Had she talked much to Lori in the past? No more than her other fellow weyrlings. Still, Lori seemed the nice sort...and certainly someone sweet.
"I mean, we're like, sisters! Impressed together, spent weyrlinghood together! That's close enough, riiiiight? I mean, my real brother is still my favorite, but yanno."
But...you are not sisters? Why do you say this, Y'suba? It is not true, and both of you are aware of this fact. It wasn't even a lie, at that point--just an obvious untruth. Y'suba didn't respond to her dragon, merely grinning at Lori, waiting to see how the bluerider would respond to her friendliness.
