FULL APPEARANCE: Al'une is a rather lanky young man. All long limbs and digits, with broad, bony shoulders. He walks with a bit of a slump, shoulders rounded as if apologizing for his height, which isn't even excessive. He also tends to shuffle when he walks and lean when he goes around things.
It often appears as if he's noodled his way around a table corner rather than stepped around it. He has a broad nose with a flat bridge, a cleft chin and full lips that set naturally into a pensive expression. His eyes are large and round, with a puffiness around the lower lid that creates a certain air of sadness. He also squints a lot and his ears stick out.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Al'une is a bashful youth. He is a little shy and prone to blushing and has trouble making eye contact during conversations. But there is steel beneath those red cheeks and tarnished gold curls. Tempered, hardened steel. Somewhere beneath the 'ums' and embarrassed smiles is a very determined young man.
He knows how to keep a secret. He knows how to speak out against the wrongs of the world even though hellos often strangle him. He is kind and just and loving. An accidental hero because he never realized just what he was getting into when he jumped in with both feet. He was just trying to save his sister.

HISTORY:Sometimes you forget how good life is until suddenly it isn't anymore. Looking back, Al'une knew his life was a good one. He had loving parents and only slightly annoying sisters. It wasn't perfect, but it was good. And when Alayna Impressed Gold Wyzeth it should have only gotten better. Except it didn't and Al'une fled Benden in secret, begging a ride from a friend to Telgar. He'd seen what he should not have and knew he was no safer at Benden than his sister, who they'd dragged away, even though she rode a Gold.
He didn't leave word with his family, afraid of endangering them further. He just took his secret and went. Now Al'une wonders why Telgar? He'd thought he would have better luck there, that the people would be more reasonable, that someone would listen. But who listens to candidates? (He'd been afraid to Stand at Benden, but it seemed the best idea at Telgar) No one listens to Candidates.
Except small white dragons with rainbow eyes, wings still shell wet. Shayith listened. But no one listened to weyrlings either. No one every believed Al'une's tall tale about imprisoned sister and her gold dragon. They weren't believed after graduation either, and Al'une grew more and more frustrated. He was a running joke in the Weyr by then. That all changed when he chanced to imprint on a brown flit. As soon as the little creature was able, Al'une sent it between to find his sister. Picturing all the places he could imagine they would be able to hide her and Wyzeth. Over and over again until success. Things got really interesting after that. He and Shayith became very good at going between.
Somehow the little white managing to carry to Wyzeth's eggs strapped to his chest, held protectively by two front paws. He got very good at landing on his back legs only, and taking off from the same strange, hunched position. Slowly but surely the pair distributed Wyzath's eggs to other Weyrs. Better Weyrs. Surely they all had their flaws, but none of them were actively abusing any of their dragons or riders. Shayith's remarkable coloring came in handy as they swept onto Sands, blending into walls and shadows. It was terrifying and exhilarating all at once. Each one a new act of defiance. But they managed it.
