PLAY-BY: Colin Ford
FULL APPEARANCE:
Rellor shares more than a passing resemblance to his half-siblings, but he also looks like his mother. Oddly enough, it's harder to tell his relationship to his full siblings than to his half. He has his father's eyes, but his mother's kind heart and determination. He is tragically unfashionable in a way that makes his sisters despair. The only time he'll willingly change his wardrobe is if something genuinely doesn't fit anymore - and even then, surely the hem can be let down once more?
In keeping with this thriftiness, Rellor takes no particular care for his hair. Oh, he washes it regularly, but good luck keeping any cut in place. His light green eyes are always focused on something, be it a task or a thought. It's almost as if he can't spare the effort to pull his look together, and that's not far off. It's easy to tell when Rellor is around because he is always tapping on something. Usually this is accompanied by wincing, and shifting to tap a toe rather than his fingers. Learning gitar has been slow going because he has trouble developing the callous needed for the strings. His hands often bear cuts and welts from practice.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Rellor has the endless curiosity of a natural scientist. He wants to know everything. The how, the what, the why - if it exists, he wants to know about it. And if no one knows enough to tell him anything, he'll go looking through the archives. And if those let him down? Well, clearly fate meant for him to be the one to find out. He's desperate to know, to have something besides fluff for brains. In a way, his sense of worth is tied to how much he can learn.
It's not healthy, but there you go.
He's sort of single-minded in his pursuit of knowledge, to the point where other things fall by the wayside. In his youth, his mother picked up the slack. Now that he's at the Harper Hall, though, that slack is taken up by a bossy little brown. Rellor has found it difficult to share his life with a fire lizard, but if he thinks of Angeal as more of a mentor than a pet, it works better.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
- Mother - Relli of garnet Rellivask, +23
- Stepsister - Essanora of bronze Gectusith, +9
- Stepbrother - G'er of garnet Neozeoth, +3
- Sister - Weyrbrat Norelli, -3
BIRTHPLACE: a small cothold on the outskirts of Fort
HISTORY:
Rellor doesn't remember much of life before Essanora ran away. He was seven at the time, and much more interested in learning the what and why of everything than the how of it all. It wasn't until Ger vanished that Rellor was bit by wanderlust. There was something beyond their struggling little hold, and he wanted to see it all. But no one was ready to foster his wanderlust.
Which is why he took to the weyr so much better than many of his younger siblings. Leaving the hold in the middle of the night was odd, but one of the first weyrfolk he met was a harper. And harpers were magic, he was just sure of it. While his younger brother would prompt a wher to return him during his wanderings, Rellor ended up in the company of harpers more often than not. It was one visiting journeyman who suggested that he be taken as an apprentice to the Harper Hall. It was a solution that would solve several problems. Chief among those, of course, was the way Rellor would sneak into lessons far above his knowledge base in the quest to learn something.
He hasn't been tapped any particular direction. So far, he's trying to learn how to play the gitar without much luck. During one such session, one of the resident fire lizards landed on Rellor's shoulder. He never really left. In time, Relli's oldest might find his calling as a scriber. But for now? He's trying very hard to figure out a world that is too big.
