FULL APPEARANCE:
Y'su is a tall, handsome man, solidly built and heavily muscled. He's just as strong as he looks so it's best to not make him angry; fortunately that's hard to do. He very much likes to stay fit and exercises regularly beyond drills and other duties. His chestnut brown hair tends to stick up messily as he tends to not put much effort into maintaining it beyond normal hygiene. His skin tone is on the lighter side, though he really wishes it would tan a little. He dresses for the occasion, though he's not particularly interested in fashion so his clothing tends to be more functional than showy. He has a tendency to wear a garment beyond repair.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Y'su is a kindly sort. He is a good man, albeit one who's tired of seeing bad things happen to good people. If there's anything he can do to ease one's suffering, regardless if that suffering is big or small. He's under no illusion that he can change the world and doesn't want to, he simply wishes to help in what ways he can. He's a laid back and jovial man who likes a good joke just as much as the next person, though he tends to offer dad jokes and bad puns much to the exasperation of those who know him. He's particularly fond of children and acts as an older brother figure to those who want extra guidance.
While he's approachable, he doesn't trust others very easily. He's trying to learn how to trust again by reaching out to those he's less sure of. Progress is coming, though, even if he is a bit wary. He takes oaths very seriously and going back on your word is one of the gravest sins one can commit as far as he's concerned and the quickest way to lose your credibility with him. He's trying, though.

BIRTHPLACE: Small cothold near High Reaches
HISTORY:
Yasuki was born into a small, tight knit family of farmer in a small cothold near high reaches. His parents were devoted to each other and their children, and their children to them. Even after their family went from five to eight, they were no less attentive. After a long day in the fields they would spend their evenings together telling stories until the stars came out. As each child grew old enough to join their parents in the fields, they helped ease the adjustment by making little games out of the work, such as seeing who could pick the most crops during harvest time.
Their idyllic world was shattered shortly after Yasuki turned fifteen. Riders from High Reaches came on Search, only it wasn't voluntary. Yasuki was conscripted along with Tsuba and Hana for candidacy. He put up a fuss, but was taken anyway without so much as a peep from his parents. They had no choice but to let their children be taken, of course, but for them to not even object hurt. Things didn't become better at High Reaches, unfortunately. The siblings were treated poorly by the Weyr at large, but they each found friends among the other candidates. Yasuki was a bit hesitant to trust them, but there were a few candidates he was more friendly with than others.
Hana Impressed to a Green not long after they arrived and disappeared to another Weyr shortly after graduating, though she kept in touch with Yasuki and Tsuba via letter as often as she could. Yasuki was glad for her, but situation hadn't improved much. A bit of fortune finally arrived in the form of Brenlosath. The Blue wasn't valued much by the rest of the Weyr, but to him Brenlosath was the best dragon on all of Pern. They did their best to keep their heads down during Weyrlinghood and graduated without causing any sort of major disturbance despite Brenlosath's mischievous streak.
Things started looking up after Golre's fall, though things were far from perfect. At Brenlosath's insistence, Y'su began the process of trying to forgive his parents now that he knew they hadn't had a choice in letting him go. It will be a process, but there's enough sadness in this world without him adding to it.
