FULL APPEARANCE: E'syne is not particularly stocky or muscular; he is not chubby or scrawny; his build is not athletic, but still on the leaner side. In build, he is rather average, even if he's a bit short by Pernese standards. Not terribly so, of course, but enough that it's a point of bitterness. It isn't helped by the fact that he has a slight slouch, with a casual, laid-back kind of posture. His clothing style is bright and colorful, but practical enough for his dragonrider lifestyle. He wears his hair relatively short, but a bit shaggy and certainly not neat. With its curly volume, he is able to comb it back, preferring not to have bangs in his face. His eyes are a slate-like grayish blue, but the true shade depends on the lighting. He has thick eyebrows and a square facial shape, and usually has a little bit of facial hair. Not a beard, or anything that would bother him, but he also can't be bothered to shave ALL the time!
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: E'syne is awesome. He seems to think he's great, and that he can do anything, but in some ways, it is an act. While praise and complements go right to his head, making him feel confident and sure of himself, he's also sensitive to criticism and insults, and may take them too personally. Deep down, he wonders if he is good enough, but he covers this up with a false sense of bravado. He tries very hard to be "cool," going so far as to avoid "nerdy" things and act aloof, but he's not very good at it. Although he is a casual person, he often forgets that he's trying to act like he doesn't care too much. He cares. A lot. For example, he gets way too invested in any kind of relationship, especially romantic ones. He's a hopeless romantic, and tends to idolize any crushes. That said, he's a bit of a flirt, but...he's bad at it.
E'syne is charismatic, and incredibly smooth. Or so he thinks. In reality, he's a little goofy, and very dramatic. His emotions, reactions, and responses are often theatrical and over-the-top, especially if he feels offended--such as for comments on his height. Between his sweeping gestures and loud voice, he can be a bit much to deal with. Certainly not the persona he's trying for, but it's him, either way.
Although E'syne thrives on praise and hates criticism, he's still rather difficult, in some ways. For one thing, he tends to be a bit scatterbrained and forgetful. He's a bit confused in terms of how to function as an adult, and is a bit of a disaster, just sort of pretending that he knows what he's doing--even when it blows up in his face. What he lacks in these areas, he makes up for in energy, bringing his best to everything--unless he's not fully invested, in which case he's rather lazy.

HISTORY: The oldest child of two fishermen, Eresynet was born in the fishercraft hall. He was loved and cared for as he grew up. His parents often left on sailor trips, while he was young, but he was still well cared for. When he was about 4, his younger sister, Iyesra, was born; two turns later, it was Keriyet; and two turns after that, Hiyesnae. Eresynet loved his siblings, and helped take care of them as well as he could. He was overprotective of them, especially Keriyet. Keriyet was often teased for being feminine and bookish, so Eresynet stood up for him, usually verbally, but one time he broke a particularly rude boy's nose.
Despite being destined to be a sailor and fisherman, and despite enjoying the sea, he dreamed of dragons from a young age. A dragon came on search when he was around ten, and he marveled at the creature, rambling about the green for ages, so entranced was he by her. That said, he dutifully became a Sailor apprentice at the age of ten, and worked as one until he was 16. While he was travelling to Fort Sea Hold, a dragon came on search, and this time, he was old enough. The dragon selected him as one of the future candidates, despite him not being from the area. He wrote to his parents, telling them that he wouldn't be coming home--a somewhat impulsive decision, of course. About a turn or two after being searched, he Impressed, with the insecure Himikoth choosing him decisively.
His parents occasionally wrote to him, leaving tempting and somewhat dramatic lines about "the sea calling to you" or "the waves miss your careful touch." Sometimes it was his sisters and brother, who missed him, but he couldn't return, not now that he had Himikoth. He loved her dearly, even if he still loved the water. After Himikoth matured, the pair moved to High Reaches, growing bored with the mundane life and memories they'd made for themselves at Fort. They wanted to start over, find somewhere that people would like them. With Blaze's poisoning, they had little reason to stick around. It made them a bit nervous.
