FULL APPEARANCE:Faith is somewhat small and unassuming, but she works very hard to keep muscle on her body. After all one never knows when they need to help move a patient, and if they are anything non-human then it can be even more difficult.
Even with her best efforts there always seems to be some sort of mess on her clothing from her work, as she will gladly help any sort of beast should the situation call for it. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty, or to assist, and often wears a curious expression as she tries to learn as much as she can to improve her craft.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Though determined when it comes to healing and helping both man and beast alike when it comes to interpersonal conflict that is not related to her work she is what many may call a pushover. Shying away from conflict and doing her best to please everyone her voice does not often carry much weight, not until it comes time for her to do her work.
The moment someone is injured however she takes charge of the situation as best she can, with the sort of stubbornness that few would expect her to show. Faith is not one to take no for an answer when it comes to helping people, and will rarely leave until after she has done at least something to assist.
She's definitely what one could consider a people person, though not in the way most would expect. While not liking parties or emotionally-charged venues where things could go violent she loves meeting people and learning about their lives, especially if there are children involved. Faith tries her best to make sure everyone feels comfortable around her, and will spend hours building trust with shy children should she feel she need to.
Though she does not really discuss it with anyone in order to avoid arguments she does believe that the lack of a gold is more detrimental than many people would like to believe. While Faith respects the people's hesitance and the effect that past experiences have had on the population she is certain that without dragons to protect them from threadfall there isn't much people can do to keep themselves safe and that a lot of people will end up getting hurt if they can't get the numbers up.
That being said she is also convinced that it would be better if they kept politics out of things just a little better. It is a matter of protecting people and keeping them safe, and to her that has always been the priority, and while she would rather keep away from the arguments and work on healing at a certain point a healer must know when to stop simply treating symptoms and move to treating the root of the issue.
HISTORY
FAMILY:Unknown
SIGNIFICANT OTHER:None
BIRTHPLACE:Fort Hold
HISTORY:
Faith wasn't really sure of who her parents were, or of much of anything about her family, but that never really bothered her. Instead she decided she wanted to make her own family, by making people feel safe and comfortable and doing her best to help.
Spending her childhood asking the healers questions and clumsily attempting to help her fellow children with any little scrapes and bruises they might have it seemed only logical for her to take an apprenticeship with the healers as soon as possible. While she may have only been fetching items and learning how to keep things clean Faith didn't complain, and spent all of her time listening and absorbing any information she could.
One could certainly tell which of the other children spent time around her, as they would often end up with makeshift bandages covering their wounds, and wrappings protecting little bruises. This was most evident with the younger children, as in exchange for being able to play with one of the "big kids" many would let her fix imaginary wounds, and would come to her to have their little scrapes fussed over and cleaned out.
It was not just the other children she would be trying to help, anything injured and staying still would get to experience her hands gently wrapping it in something and bringing it for help, or at least offering it a safe place to sit and rest until it was feeling better.
It was this which lead to her imprinting a green firelizard that she named Leaf, who she taught to run minor errands such as fetching bandages and certain implements and tools. While Leaf is a silly little thing she does get it right most of the time, and has gotten better as time went on.
As the years progressed she moved past simple first aid and into the more complex activities, eventually moving to healer's hall and continuing her education, eventually reaching journeyman status in the summer of 2767. Soon after she was stationed in High Reaches, the heavy threadfall necessitating additional healers to help deal with the injured.
Any time there was any sort of heavy interpersonal conflict going on she did her best to avoid getting involved, especially if it involved politics or assassinations. She focused on her work instead and treating any injured parties, preferring to keep her hands full with work and doing her best to keep any patients she may have calm.
Soon enough though she realized that there would be so much need for more riders she decided to become a candidate, figuring she would be unlikely to ever make an impression but thinking it was worth a shot. After all if she could protect people she would, and perhaps if there were more riders with proper training then there would be fewer casualties in the future.
While becoming a rider would take her from her duties she decided that it would be more effective to act in a more preventative manner, to help stop people from getting injured instead of simply treating their wounds once they had been hurt. While it may be an odd way of going about things to her it seemed the only way to actually do more than just slapping a bandage on the wound and declaring the problem solved.
