PLAY-BY: Abigail Breslin
FULL APPEARANCE:
Short, that is the first thing that is noticed of her. She is short. She is mainly legs though, which means that her torso and body are kind of short, which just adds onto the whole short factor that she carries with herself. But she doesn't care about that, instead, she uses it to her advantage when someone needs to go through a small door or anything of the sorts. Her small stature doesn't seem to stop her from having a bit a meat and weight on her bones though. But besides her body figure, she has long dirty blonde hair.

The roots of her hair are dark brown, but as it grows out, it lightens into a dark shade of blonde. Her hair is usually always pulled back, just because she hates it when he hair touches her face or neck. No one knows why it bugs her, but it does. She has blue eyes that just seem to portray what she is thinking and feeling, but her facial expressions will do that all the same. Though, sometimes, her facial expressions will be a lie, and you just have to be staring at her eyes to get her true emotions.

PERSONALITY
STRENGTHS: Calm, Clever, Enthusiastic, Focused, Inquisitive
WEAKNESSES: Impatient, Snarky, Naive, Self-Confident, Curious

LIKES: Adventures, Relaxation
DISLIKES: Bugs, Having to be Patient

PERSONALITY:
Calm but impatient. She will get mad at you for making her wait, but she will try to keep her anger under control. Her anger can mainly be seen in her eyes more than anything, but even then, that is not always true anger. She just doesn't like being forced to wait, and the longer that she has to wait, the angrier she seems to look by the time you get to her. The only time you know that you have left her calm state, is when you can see the anger in her eyes and on her face, and even then, her voice will probably be shaky with the anger that she is still trying to hold back. But beyond her impatience and slight anger problem, she is a clever and enthusiastic person. She loves to go on new adventures and to find new things, but she also loves to just sit back and relax after a long day of lessons and chores.

Something that will be noticed during her lessons is that she is extremely focused and kind of prepared. She will ask the questions that she feels need to be asked, but, if it is a lesson that she has already been through, she will start getting impatient and complaining about how everyone should already know this stuff. But it is when someone decides that they want to try and get into a verbal fight with her that her true snark and attitude comes out. She will only say things that she knows will hurt your feelings, but she will never say anything that has been told to her in private. Those are things that she will carry with her until her last breath on Pern. But her self-confidence can be a bit of a problem when she sees something that she believes she should be able to do.

She will try to do it, even if she knows that she cannot. This is mainly because she believes in herself a little too much, and has to prove it to herself that she can do whatever she sets her mind to doing. But this can get her harmed in ways if she isn't careful, which she has thankfully avoided so far. But it might be the naive part of her that tends to make her lose her sense of smarts when she wants to do something. She will believe simple little requests, and well, she wants to be able to do something that she has been told that has happened before.

Lekslna: Mother, White Rider, 38
Zensarn: Father, Brown Rider, 40
Keslan: Brother, Candidate, 18
Elsana: Sister, Candidate, 17

SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: Fort Weyr
HISTORY:
The Spring of 2753 held a nice little surprise for Lekslna and Zensarn. They knew that they had been expecting another child, but they didn't expect her to come a season so soon. This little girl, Zesleklan, was to join two older siblings, Keslan and Elsana, in the world of Pern on Fort Weyr. From a young age, Zesleklan showed that she was going to be a handful. She stayed with the other Weyrbrats while her parents were out doing their duties, but she proved that she was not going to stand idly. Instead, she would usually find ways to go on adventures and make friends along the way. She had only been a turn old, but her father told her later, at about five turns, about the mutated wher that was hatched on the Weyr. It was a Polyhalite, if she could remember her father telling her correctly. He also told her about the first ever mutated firelizard that was hatched on the weyr, apparently, it was called Bone.

These mutations intrigued her as she grew up, and she loved to hear the stories, but from more than just her father. But it was when she turned seven turns that everything seemed to take a chaotic turn. She was hung on every word of everything that she heard, and she wanted to know more always. The very first thing that she had heard was that their Weyrwoman, Flauros of Gold Ekkettoth, had been poisoned. No one seemed to have caught scent of the poison though, until she succumbed to it after Ekkettoth had laid her eggs. Zesleklan was curious of how someone didn't know they had been poisoned, or how they even were poisoned for so long without noticing it. These minor details seemed to make her more curious as to what had actually happened, even though she knew that that was the whole story.

But when her mother came home one day and started to talk about a Gold Ghost that seemed to be haunting the Hold, Zesleklan just seemed to shrug that off. It didn't seem to intrigue her as much as the talk about dragons, and that was when any talk of whers kind of just stopped around her, because she would get impatient with the conversation and demand that it be changed to dragons. Of course, she was scolded for that, but she never seemed to learn that lesson, she just wanted to listen to stories of dragons and what they can do. So, that winter, when some bronzes were hatched, she was told how they impressed to woman, instead of the normal men that they impressed to. But that news seemed to get pushed to the side quickly, because apparently High Reaches had sent an ambassador to Fort Weyr, but that Ambassador started a brawl in their weyrbowl.

Zesleklan was glad when she heard that he had been imprisoned, for that was something that she didn't like hearing. Nor the fact that that action didn't seem fitting of someone who is supposed to be an Ambassador for another Weyr. But this brawl seemed to up the tension between Fort Weyr and High Reaches. Then, Iirla and Gold Izanycorth disappear. No one knows where they went, and Zesleklan had to listen day and night about how irresponsible it was and how reckless it was. Zesleklan just wanted to know the reasoning for the pair to think that they had to disappear. Was someone after them? Had they done something wrong? This all was what Zesleklan wanted to know, and she was determined to try and find the answers.

Sadly though, her investigations always ended up with her getting told to go home. That summer though seemed to stray her mind away from the fact that a Gold had disappeared with its rider. Instead, now she was focusing on the brand new color that had hatched, Garnets. They were pretty, and she was excited to know that even the dragons are gaining new mutations and colors, though, she was never sure if Garnets were considered a mutation or not, and she didn't want to ask. But then it happened, High reaches came and attacked them. She had heard that the tension between Fort Weyr and High Reaches had not calmed down, but she didn't think that High Reaches would be brave enough to come ad attack Fort Weyr.

She was told to stay in her home with her brother and sister, while her parents had to go and fight. She will never admit to it, but she did huddle with her brother and sister in fear. She was scared of losing her parents, and she was scared of what could happen in High Reaches actually won the battle. But it didn't seem to last very long, for before the summer season even ended, the High Reaches greenriders and blueriders surrendered. From what her father said, it was because Fort Weyr had sent maybe two full wings from High Reaches running for their infirmary. The way that he said it, in an attempt to make Zesleklan laugh, worked, and she did chuckle slightly. But she was still worried, for she has heard the rumors of High Reaches "Mad Gold" pair.

She was right to stay worried, for once autumn hit, High Reaches was back, but this time their attack was led by Golre and Gold Vizeth themselves. Apparently the "Mad Gold" pair even brought along their bronzeriders as back up, but that didn't help them. Fort Weyr was ready for a counter attack it seemed, because they killed not only the bronzes, but the "Mad Gold" pair themselves. In response to Fort Weyr killing the Weyrwoman of High Reaches, they sent riders and handlers over to take charge of rebuilding High Reaches. But her father had also been sent over to help rebuild the other Weyr. This little seperation from her father made her want to become a dragon candidate more and more, but she still wasn't able to. She wanted to be able to go where her father went, and she wanted to be able to fly with a dragon who was bonded to her.

The winter time came, and her father was back home along with it. She heard of a new hatching which actually contained a mutated dragon, Kyanite Felisanth. But that wasn't the only cool thing that Zesleklan found part of the season. A new Gold dragon had been hatched, Gold Serapheth, but the part that worried her a bit was the fact that the Gold had killed a candidate after the hatching had been completed. Did that candidate do something to the Gold hatchling? Or did that Gold just feel like killing that candidate? New questions popped in her head daily, but she was still determined to be like her parents and be a dragonrider.

But the spring of 2762 seemed to bring back old painful memories for the Weyr. Kallia of Gold Imorith had been poisoned, just like Flauros of Gold Ekkettoth had been so many turns ago. This seemed to over shadow the fact that a clutching green had laid some eggs, and from them hatched a new mutation, Vivianite Asmiath. Zesleklan was curious as to where all the new mutations were coming from, and she wanted to know how they were different from the normal dragons. Was it just their coloration? Or did they have different builds? She had also heard that Fort Hold had been attacked by that "Gold Ghost" that they had complained about before, but she was still more curious about the dragons and how they work with the new mutations.

Then summer came along and Fort hold started to hold their tithes and refused to send them. On top of that, they also had to deal with a Wingleader's murder. Things seemed to have started to turn into a mystery, and it was making Zesleklan start to ask more questions and become more curious of things. But once winter came, she knew why Fort Hold was withholding their tithes, they had rebelled against the Weyr, but it went bad for them. Their Lord Holder was killed by a Wher while the Lady went missing. Things didn't add up to Zesleklan, but there was nothing that she could do, but ask questions and get told to hush up and go back home. That seemed to be the common answer when a Weyrbrat went asking questions, and this hurt her feelings a little bit.

But then, Benden Weyr sent one of their Golds to Fort Weyr, Danse of Gold Macath had transferred to Fort Weyr, and Zesleklan was wondering if it was because of all of the poisonings that kept happening to their own Golds hatched here at the Weyr. No matter what, Zesleklan kept listening for more mutations or more news on new dragon colors, and she was far from surprised when she heard that summer that a new mutation had been hatched, Opal Doukajth. Zesleklan was starting to really want to go and see all of these new mutations, the names that they were given for their colors were all so pretty, and she just wanted to see if their coloring was as pretty as the name that they were given.

It didn't take long for Gold Macath to get into a fight with the Fort Weyr hatched Gold, Serapheth. Zesleklan had heard that Golds usually fought to try and prove that they are the one who should be in charge, so she wasn't really surprised when she heard this news. But did surprise her was the new mutation that was hatched, from a mutations clutching. Garnet Georsath had successfully laid her eggs and from them hatched a Chimeric dragon, Blue Venturith, who had garnet markings. Even when winter came around and another mutation was hatched, Carnelian Tianth, it didn't seem to get rid of the curiosity that Zesleklan held for that chimera of a dragon. She was curious as to how a dragon gets that coloring, and she knew that that had to be super rare, which made her upset, because she would have loved to have impressed to such a rare beauty.

Her excitement for all of the new mutations soon ended, and quickly. The spring of 2764 came with a bang, or more like, some severe threadfall. Like with any Threadfall, she was locked in her Weyr, alone now though since her brother and sister became candidates. She had to listen to the keening of hurt dragons alone, and she really started to hate the sound. She had to endure this alone, and it made her impatient just waiting for the horror to end. It wasn't until it calmed down that she had heard that Danse of Gold Macath had been killed by the Threadfall. But that wasn't the end of it, just because the Threadfall had calmed a bit, didn't meant that everything was going to get better. Instead, a plague hit them as well as the Threadfall, which just seemed to make things worse. This made it harder for Riders and Dragons to be healed from not only Threadfall now, but the plague as well.

That was when Lain of Gold Otohith had died. But even the Fort Hold wasn't safe, because Lady Holder Daegarethe had died from the Plague as well. It wasn't long until Lord Vellaren took over the Hold. But because of the Plague and Threadfall, many riders were left dragonless that season, and it hurt Zesleklan's heart to hear this. During that autumn though, Gold Serapheth still rose for her flight, but she had to ground Brown Vaugnairth when he attacked Bronze Keramerth after the flight. Zesleklan wondered what made dragons so primal during that time, but she figured it was probably a conversation that she was not going to want to have with anybody. But the rivalry between the Bronze and the Brown didn't end there, for once the eggs were on the hatching sands, they fought once more. But this time, the fight ended up with a Gold egg getting cracked, which made the Gold Clutchmother banish the Brown from the Weyr.

These were all things that she was hearing from her parents, and her siblings when they came to visit. She grew ready more and more each day as she waited to become a dragon candidate. She wanted nothing more in the world than to become a rider at this point, and she was determined to stand for every hatching that came up until her day came. But that day still had to wait. But when the eggs started to hatch, more drama happened, for Benden riders came and they themselves attacked Gold Serapheth, this ended with two riders being kidnapped and a blue mutated dragon to hatch, Blue Seieith, who had golden eyes. But when the weather proved to be mean that winter, more Threadfall fell, and severely once more. It slayed many dragons, including the Senior Weyrleader's dragon.

Fort Weyr retaliated again Benden Weyr though, Tuckal of Gold Serapheth and several others went to go and rescue the Weyrs kidnapped riders. Zesleklan felt so much pride to be born on Fort Weyr at the moment for she knew how much it meant not only to those who couldn't go and help, but to the families of those taken how much it hurt to have missing people. So the attack to get them back felt justified to her, and she cheered for them the entire time that they were gone. But when the Trailblazers hatching happened, it seemed to be so violent, or so she heard. She heard that a Gold, a Green, and two twin Browns were hatched who were far larger than most of the others in those color brackets. But it wasn't long before someone decided to punish the hatchlings for their violent hatching.

Pellay of Blue Qth poisoned the Trailblazers class and it killed a green dragon and she heard that many others are more than likely going to be permanently disabled. Zesleklan was furious, how could a rider go and poison a new class of weyrlings? What right was it of that rider to do so? Zesleklan wanted that rider to come to justice, but they had disappeared before they could be caught, which just made the girl even more mad. She was slowly getting closer to her goal of being a dragon candidate, but with how dangerous things were going, she was scared that her family was going to tell her no and that she had to find a craft. She didn't want to do that, she wanted to become a candidate. She wanted to show that she had the strength to still deal with the turmoil that was going on. But when her parents said nothing of the sorts, her argument just seemed to disappear into thin air.

The spring of 2766 seemed to bring back old dragons who had been gone for turns. Fort's dragonless Angelo and bronzerider A'lin had gone to Benden weyr and rescued Alayna of Gold Wyzeth. She had apparently been being kept as a captive and drugged for some turns, and this is something that surprised Zesleklan. Why was Benden so bent on trying to destroy Fort? Why was Benden being so mean? The thirteen turn old's mind was reeling with the new questions as she listens to all the news that she is told from her family. But just a turn later during the spring, Fort Weyr's Weyrwoman, Tuckal, falls victim to an attempted kidnapping. Why was everyone so bent on kidnapping or killing all of Fort Weyr's Weyrwomen? Zesleklan was starting to think that being bonded to a gold was more of a curse on the weyr than a good thing, but of course, she couldn't say any of this out loud.

But when the Blue weyrling Hinokath rises, early no less, and is caught, it was found out that the blue was actually a female. Zesleklan was curious as to if this was going to keep happening, or was this just a freak accident that happened because of the clutch that she was apart of? So many new things were happening, and the blue even laid an egg that hatched with no problems. Was Pern starting to see new changes that were going to drastically change what everyone thought they knew? But when Gold Nornth rose for her maiden flight and killed a Benden bronze dragon, then ordered other dragons to be killed, it was no real surprise to Zesleklan when Blaze and Gold Nornth were forced to step down as Junior Weyrwoman. Zesleklan thought this was only a suitable punishment, since there was no true reason to have so many dragons killed during a flight, was there?

Then that winter held more surprises, like the first black white dragon, Varelsith, hatching. The coloring sounded like it fit the winter, since the dragon was a black white, but then came that event that was starting to sound really familiar to Zesleklan. Blaze of Gold Nornth was poisoned and died from the poisoning. Zesleklan now really thinks that being a Goldrider on Fort Weyr is a curse, but she is excited, because she is now a dragon candidate, and that means that she has her own opportunity now to become a dragonrider just like her parents. Of course, the fact that her brother and sister still being candidates is worrisome, but she is not going to let that stop her.

ZAYLITH
Image
Hey there, good lookin'.

BASICS

NAME: Zaylith
BIRTHDATE Early Fall of 2768
AGE: 0 as of Early Fall of 2768

APPEARANCE
Final Size-
LENGTH: 40ft
HEIGHT: 10ft
WINGSPAN: 60ft
COLOR: Brown
HEX CODE: #5a432b
FULL APPEARANCE:
On the small end of browns but no less stunning, Zaylith is a fairly well-rounded creature. His proportions are average, he has no strangeness to his wings or legs, and he seems fairly content with just what he is. He is a good brown for sure. He is a light, stony sort of brown all over. The backs of his wingsails are a light, sandy brown. His markings over his face are a darker, wood-colored brown that looks like he has a curly mop on his head. The same darker color is in a band around his neck, with paler circles lining it as if it is a very elaborate collar. There are tier-like markings on his forelegs, and large v-shaped boot markings on his hind legs lined with the pale sandy brown color.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Zaylith is not quite the laziest brown on Pern but he sure acts like it. He'd prefer to lounge in the sun all day instead of do actual work, usually delegating almost anything he can to Joheith - usually because Joheith will do it. In actuality, he is a very clever and very observant brown, one who is startlingly vicious in a fight. It is strange seeing him go from zero to fighting, it doesn't really happen that often, no one really suspects him of that sort of reaction. He is overall a friendly dragon, with a real kindness in him. He is observant, intelligent, but definitely lazy and hard to motivate.

To his rider, Zaylith may be that kind of friend who you can rely on even if they always seem like they're a complete disaster. He's there to lend an ear and give whatever advice he can, even if it's not what they want to hear. He doesn't sugarcoat anything, and his criticism can be scathing if someone is unprepared. He doesn't look like he should be as strong as he is. He really likes having a nice, lazy day and if he was in charge, it would be every day. He and Asakurth bicker fairly frequently, but it's all friendly.

Voice: Jovial and light, Zaylith has a weird slang to his language. If 1920s' slang existed on Pern, Zaylith would be right at home.

Why me?: I hope Zesleklan likes a challenge. Zaylith is going to make her patient by sheer force of 'how to get a lazy brown to move'
