FULL APPEARANCE: Gred looks just like Forge. That would be because they are identical twins, funny how that works. He's got flaming ginger hair of a somewhat fine texture, fair complexion as most redheads do, and surprisingly, light brown eyes rather than the blue you might expect. He gets his hair cut once in a while, as folks do, and it usually is a bit shaggy. Naturally he and Forge go to get their hair cut at the same time, because it wouldn't do for people to be able to tell them apart.
Gred is happy to say that he does have both ears, thank you very much, and they are both a bit on the large side. He has a straight nose in a longish face, with lips often curled in a smirk.
Most of the time Gred wears sturdy but fashionable outfits. For example, a wherhide jacket that doesn't have a lot of embellishment but its fine make shows in its cut, the texturing and the careful stitchwork, it just speaks "class".
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Gred has a generally sunny disposition. He is not too keen on authority for authority's sake, and loves to share a laugh. He also uses humour to deal with bad situations.
A born troublemaker, he usually knows where the line is between prank and humiliation, and won't step over that line without good cause. Gred is usually able to moderate Forge's more cutting sense of humour when their plans for trouble are put into action.
Gred is fiercely protective of all things family. He might grouse about one brother or another, but woe be it to the outsider who makes even the slightest disparaging remark.
Gred does not suffer fools gladly and is always ready to bring bullies and jerks down a peg or two, including getting into the occasional scrap if warranted.
HISTORY
FAMILY: Large families are the best! Parents: Arthur and Molly. Siblings: Bill, Charlie, Percy, Forge, Ron, Ginny.
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: Ista Weyr
HISTORY: Fourth or fifth (he would claim fourth) of seven children, his parents had high expectations for him after his elder brothers excelled in their craft studies. Gred could not see the point of spending all those hours applying oneself to dull lessons when there was so much else to be learned by other means.
He and Forge spent many childhood hours investigating all of the trails and tunnels on Ista. They learned several ways to sneak into and out of the Weyr and get onto the Hatching Grounds without being seen, but to their dismay they also learned that dragons don't need to see you to know you're there. This led them to refine their infiltration technique, and they were rumoured to have even offered secret tours (completely unauthorized of course, hence the need for secrecy) to new candidates for a small fee, a rumour which they both steadfastly denied to anyone that brought it up.
Gred could not conceive of a life without Forge in it. The two often finished each other's sentences when conversing with third parties, both because they could, sharing in large part their understanding of the world, and because it's forsking funny.
Naturally they both became candidates together. Clutch after clutch hatched with no result for the lads. His mother finally reconciled herself to their life choices after witnessing the hatching at which they both impressed, Gred becoming the lifemate of a fine blue, Lyuuth. "At last they'll get some sense and settle down!" she was heard to remark to her husband from the stands. Instead, their dragons reinforced their rabble-rousing tendencies.
When Emma offered them the chance to be spies at Semaca, Gred's first thought was "Don't we have Harpers for that?" His second thought was "Shards, we'd be way better at this than any Harper. Let's do it!" And so they did.
