FULL APPEARANCE: Skinny, a bit shorter than average, with fair complexion and short black hair that always sticks up no matter what is done to it, Harry looks remarkably like his father. The exceptions are his intense green eyes hidden behind his round framed glasses, and an oddly shaped scar on his forhead. Who knows how that got there.
He usually wears a fairly ordinary tunic and trousers of various solid colors, with leg bottoms loose over low dark boots. One of his prize possessions, which he wears on special occasions, is a sweater made for him by Molly Weasley, green with a black dragon on it. He has been seen, on days where it is warm enough to walk around inside without boots, wearing mismatched socks; where he got these is also a mystery.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Harry has a bit of a "saving people" thing. If he hears that someone he knows and cares about is in trouble, he will often go charging right in to try to help, without necessarily thinking things through first. Fortunately this has generally worked out for the best, by sheer dumb luck, and with help from his friends, who are like a second family to him. Family is very important to Harry, both (some of) his blood relations and his close friends that he considers to be like family. He will go to any lengths to protect them, and any lengths to defend them from insults. This gets him into a "punch first and deal with the consequences later" sort of situation often enough.
Harry values loyalty and courage in his friends, and he repays them in kind. He might get furious at them, with or without good cause, but he will always come around in the end.
Having grown up in an abusive household, Harry does not like to admit weakness or vulnerability; if asked if something is wrong, he has trouble admitting it even to his closest friends. He is sometimes that emotionally clueless guy who doesn't understand the feelings of others, even when they are explained to him by someone with many clues. Over time, however, he can absorb their information and work with it.
When Harry gets an idea in his head about a dangerous situation, it's hard for him to admit he might be wrong about the conclusions he draws, and even harder for him to recover if someone is hurt as a consequence.
HISTORY
TW: Death, abuse
FAMILY: mother: Lily (deceased), father: James (deceased), aunt and uncle: don't ask, godfather: Sirius
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: We-ell... he has a thing for Ginny.
BIRTHPLACE: Ista Weyr
HISTORY: Harry was born to loving parents, dragonriders both, who were murdered when he was but a babe in arms. Their murderer, a bronze rider rumoured to be the leader of a band of renegades, was seriously injured at the time and no one heard from him since. However, for Harry's safety, he was placed at a well-to-do though remote Hold with his aunt and uncle, who wanted no reminder of Harry's parents. He lived an unhappy life with them, completely isolated from all weyrfolk, learning to run fast and stay out of the way of physical blows when possible, until his 11th year, when his uncle reluctantly gave permission for him to foster at Ista Weyr. Some folks said there was blackmail involved; whatever the reason, Harry was overjoyed to be at a weyr far away from them.
Harry soon fell in with Ron, a tall gangly redhead his own age, and shortly made up for lost time in picking up knowledge of dragons and the ways of weyrfolk. Ron didn't seem to mind that Harry knew nothing about weyr life, or even his own family history. Harry soon came to think of Ron like a brother, sometimes annoying and dense, but there through thick and thin. They got into and out of various scrapes together, including one escapade with a feline deep in the weyr caves that they somehow managed to knock out, without either of them getting a single scratch.
With no siblings and little memory of his parents, Harry grew obsessed with the idea of finding the person responsible for their deaths. This meant he would have to become a dragonrider himself, he was certain. He did okay, though not great, at most lessons, excelling however at anything dragon-related. At fifteen, he and Ron stood as candidates, but neither impressed. Turns went by, and Harry continued to present himself, as did Ron, for various clutches. No luck. And he was no closer to tracking down his parents' murderer either. Despite several run-ins with members of a network he believe to be connected to the rider in question, Harry neither managed to locate the responsible party, nor was he ever permanently injured. Stalemate.
With no new leads and no hatchlings choosing him, Harry decided he could do worse than go to Semaca with Ron. Maybe his fortune would change there. Besides, if home was where the heart is, then Semaca, where Ginny was, had to be home.
