FULL APPEARANCE: It is easy to underestimate Honerva on first glance. She's short and slight, barely standing at 5' 1". She's pretty, with angular features and a bright smile. Her fine brown hair is usually tied back in a bun, though a few strands always seem to escape no matter what she does. One can get hints of her personality through the intensity in her brown eyes and the utilitarian clothing she wears. She avoids dresses and skirts solely because they get in her way, preferring simple pants and shirts.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Honerva is intensely focused on her work. She's always looking for ways to improve existing technologies, to see farther into the universe, to predict Thread more accurately. Her eyes are to the future, to the potential her work may bring. She has a habit of driving herself to the point of exhaustion, seeing her work as more important than anything else - her own safety, that of others, basic common sense. She is stubborn and intense, extremely determined to perform her work without restrictions and not afraid to fight authority to get what she wants. She believes firmly that she's helping others with her work, and that anyone who gets in her way is getting in the way of progress for Pern.
There is a side to Honerva that isn't centered around her work, though unless one is very close to her it's hard to see this. The same devotion she shows to her work, she shows to her loved ones. She is fiercely loyal to Z'kon as well as being deeply in love with him. She and Alfor butt heads a lot, mostly because he has more common sense than she does, but she does love him too. When put in charge of others, she gives them a surprising degree of autonomy, convinced that if they're working for her they'll be working for her goals anyway.

BIRTHPLACE: Altea Hold - beholden to Telgar
HISTORY: Honerva and her older brother Alfor were born to the lord and lady of a middling but prosperous Hold near Telgar, known as Altea. The pair had a normal childhood, their youth letting them escape most of the upheaval of the tail end of the war, and both of them took an interest in starcrafting. Alfor apprenticed formally at the Smithcraft Hall when he was around twelve, and Honerva joined him a couple of Turns later. Both of the siblings were brilliant, Honerva more so than Alfor. After their respective promotions to journeyman, they were both posted to Telgar Weyr.
To his surprise, Alfor was Searched shortly after his arrival to the Weyr. He became a candidate and found a good friend in his fellow candidate Zarkon. Much to Alfor's chagrin, when he introduced his new best friend to his sister, Zarkon was instantly smitten with Honerva. Honerva was intrigued by the tall candidate, but before they could formally begin a relationship, Zarkon and Alfor Impressed at the same Hatching. Zarkon to a bronze, and Alfor to a particularly reddish brown.
While her brother and future weyrmate were weyrlings, Honerva continued her work as a journeyman starcrafter. She particularly loved the work involved in crafting lenses and worked closely with glasscrafters to improve telescopes as much as she could. As soon as Zarkon - now Z'kon - graduated, she officially became weyrmates with him.
Z'kon was transferred to High Reaches Weyr to help them rebuild, and Honerva went with him. Alfor stayed at Telgar, but the trio keep in contact through firelizard. To her surprise, Honerva was Searched about a sevenday after her arrival at High Reaches. None of the Telgar dragons had singled her out as candidate material, but she went along with it. She'd been fascinated by the dragons and whers she'd seen in her tenure at Telgar and relished the chance to bond one.
