FULL APPEARANCE: K'zal has medium brown skin, looking very healthy - and an athletic, yet petite, body. She is not overtly muscular, but toned; she looks as though she gets plenty of exercise. Her hair is very long, a chestnut brown, her eyes the same colour. Her facial features are very narrow, and her expression and pose is often very formal and distinguished, always standing up straight with her hands close to her body. She appears to lack confidence in her stance, yet manages to stay calm and poised. Her choice in clothes is often rather extravagant, opting mostly for black dresses, often adorned with feathers or ribbons.

PERSONALITY:
K'zal, at her core, is very quiet. Not because she is shy or afraid of social interaction; but because she is very modest and reserved, and does not often speak out. If something is bothering her, she would rather whisper to people she trusts than confront the person head-on. She is proper, distinguished, and polite with good manners - and very organised, but sometimes bordering on being a neat freak; however, she is prone to breaking easily when things go wrong. Her empathy is strong, but sometimes it can lead to her being sensitive, or overemotional. She is a very loyal friend, but can sometimes be selfish, sly or inconsiderate to people she doesn't quite trust yet. Unfortunately, it takes a lot to get her to fully trust someone. An issue she has is that she often runs away from or flat out ignores her interpersonal problems instead of facing them head-on - alas her dragon is not too good at helping her with this, either.
Sometimes, K'zal can be self-centred. She often does what's best for her rather than what is best for other people, and despite her genuinely caring a lot about her friends, she often just doesn't think about how things could impact other people. The way she solves problems is always down to feelings over logic, but the feelings considered are mostly only either hers, her dragon's, or those of her close friends. However, she firmly believes in justice, and that people should take responsibility for their actions; yet she has an odd relationship with forgiveness. If somebody hurt her or one of her friends, she would never be able to look them in the eye again, however if it is someone she does not know very well, she can brush it off fairly easily. Despite this she is very sure of herself, very comfortable in her own views, and would never break her own moral code.

HISTORY:
K'zal was born to two dragonriders of Telgar Weyr; E'len of Blue Leyneth, and K'ra of Green Feiruuth. Her parents held extremely traditional values; they didn't believe much in cross-gender Impression, and weren't fond of mutations or new colours such as garnets. As she grew up on the Weyr, she was introduced to dragons from a very young age - however, her parents, especially her father, who was holdbred and thus held some outdated views of gender, was very strict in thinking that girls ride greens, boys ride blues, et cetera. They taught her that it was important to be polite, and act 'ladylike' and 'proper'; in fact, they essentially taught her these values from a very young age, and still has some of these viewpoints interwoven within her personality, as much as she tries to be aware of it.
At age 16 she became a candidate; her parents highly hoped that she would bring home a green or a gold to add to the family. They didn't want her to bring back a dragon that was traditionally assigned to boys, or a mutation or garnet. While they knew that she couldn't help what she impressed, and couldn't really stop her either way, they would be disappointed if she rode a dragon that conflicted with their values. It took her a long time to impress; and her parents constantly questioned why exactly she hadn't impressed yet. Mostly, they were concerned that she would age out, but fortunately - she had impressed at age 23... to a blue. Tenebrith was a sweetheart, and K'zal tried to explain this to her parents; but they simply grew more and more distant from her throughout her weyrlinghood. After graduation, Tenebrith wanted to see new sights; after all, he was a curious dragon who loved to learn new things! They took a risk, and moved to Semaca - a relatively new weyr on the Southern Continent, because the dragon in particular was super intrigued in this mysterious, tropical place.
