FULL APPEARANCE: Mite is a small, youthful thing. She is not done growing, and in fact, has not hit her growth spurt yet. She may never be a tall person, even as she ages. She will always have a slight, narrow form. She often looks like she is metaphorically swimming in her clothing, which is by far too large and baggy for her. Her face is youthful and cute, but despite how endearing she looks, her voice is a bit grating, as it is high-pitched and quick-paced, often going a mile a minute. Not to mention how much she talks! Her eyes are hazel, with an olive hue to them. Large and wide, they give her a doe-like appearance, as if she is always gazing at the world in a state of wonder and awe. Her hair, worn down (and messy), is a mousy brown. She is pale-skinned, burning easily in too much sunlight.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Although Mite is sweet, she can also be described as "trash goblin." She has no qualms about getting dirty, or even digging through garbage, and is generally obnoxious and silly. She is impressionable and gullible, believing that her loved ones have the best ideals, and has no morals of her own, yet. She tends to absorb whatever people tell her, unquestioning it as fact. Mite is young at heart, perhaps even younger than 15 in her innocent naivete. Energetic--overwhelmingly so--and impulsive, without much critical or abstract thinking skills, she often comes across as more youthful than she actually is. That said, she's surprisingly sharp. While her intelligence is mostly geared towards concrete, simple concepts and things, she has a great memory and is a quick learner in general. She tends to be good with her hands, and can understand why certain crafting techniques work/find the best solution just by looking. Creativity is a strong suit, perhaps because she's so odd. She doesn't just think out of the box--she IS out of the box. She's a silly youth who likes goofing around.
Mite tries very hard to be a good girl and please her loved ones. She craves approval more than anything, and in many ways, her self-image is based on what others think of her. Despite this, she seems a bit oblivious to feedback, criticism, or insult, not taking it seriously or thinking it's a joke. As a result, as long as she is getting SOME kind of attention, she feels loved and happy. Generally, she is positive and well-adjusted, if not a bit much. She barely understands boundaries and can be quite clingy and needy. After all, she loves and adores her people! She radiates love and will go above and beyond to support those she cares for.
Focus is a hard thing, and Mite is very bad at it. She's often distracted, especially from dull tasks, and has a lot of excess energy. Part of the reason is that she's very curious. She wants to know what this is, but doesn't have time to listen because she's gotta also know what that is! She has trouble sitting still, especially because she already KNOWS this from the first time you explained it! Still, even in the most tedious of studies, she is enthusiastic and earnest. Her heart is in the right place, and she really does try, but once the novelty wears off, she finds herself focusing on something new. She wants to help and is bad at lying, but has a tendency to be more of a hindrance, annoyance, or liability than a help. She has trouble cooking, she's messy, and she's clumsy. What's that saying about haste and waste?

HISTORY: Parelyi was a greenrider, one without a weyrmate. Twice, daughters were born from flightlust, both with different fathers. Lyirenn was younger than Paro by 6 turns, and Paro often looked down on her sister, who clung to Paro and loved to be around her. Their mother visited the children rarely, about once a turn to give them a gift on their namedays. She told Paro to watch after Lyirenn, and encouraged them to be close to each other. That said, both were creche-children. Their mother was not very involved, but the youngest daughter still loved her mother. She cherished every moment she could spend with Parelyi, and wanted to be a dragonrider. Maybe if she was a dragonrider, her mom would spend more time with her!
At the age of 6, Paro made the mistake of disdainfully referring to her sister as a "little mite." Lyirenn scorned her old name, demanding to be called Mite, and considering it a compliment. Raised in the creche, even without a father or an involved mother, Mite was resilient enough not to mind. Fort Weyr was a great place to live, as far as she was concerned. During her life, there was little hardship. Golre's reign on Pern was a thing of the past, and there was nothing notable enough to catch the youth's interest.
When Mite was 10, her mother died in threadfall. She was devastated, and clung even more to Paro. She absorbed Paro's traditionalist ideals, believing Paro's word to be truth. Despite being a bit annoying, young Mite made many close friends in the creche, and she continued to love them, even when she became a candidate. Anyone she grew attached to was referred to with familial terms. After 10, she grew more keen on these "familial" bonds, even if they weren't actually blood related.
At 14, she Impressed a firelizard, naming him Bubbs. A turn later, she became a candidate. Now, she was an "adult," as far as she was concerned. Adults had parents, so it was time for her to find a parent, she figured. Maybe she just wanted an older figure in her life, but she began seeking out someone to latch onto, whether they want the annoying youth around or not. She just wants a family...

- Spring 2772: Mite stands for Anheruth's Hatching and Impresses to a wonderful blue, Egaliath! She takes an elided version of her birth name, L'renn, but still enjoys her nickname.
