FULL APPEARANCE: H'kaye doesn't put much care into their appearance, and it shows. They keep up with their hygiene, but they usually do the bare minimum. As a pale-skinned individual, H'kaye burns rather easily, and their face tends to flush when exerting themselves or embarrassed. Their messy brown hair is rarely trimmed, allowing it to grow long, down to their waist--which would be fine, if they bothered to brush it regularly. Their visible eye is brown, and the other eye is hidden under a bandage-like wrap. If they take it off, the eye itself is scarred, with minimal vision if any, and threadscores mar that part of their face.
They are relatively short, with a scrawny, gangly build. They never quite grew out of the awkward teenage body shape. They bind their chest and have little in the ways of curves, leaving them appearing largely androgynous in body shape. H'kaye wears soft, comfortable clothing, usually nothing particularly noteworthy. They hate getting dressed up for events, and although they own some gather clothing, they try to avoid wearing it. It collects dust in their closet, as they prefer to attend feasts and gathers in more casual rider wear.

SIGNIFICANT OTHER: (optional)
BIRTHPLACE: Telgar Weyr
HISTORY: Hunikaye, who went by Kaye from a young age, was born to a pair of greenriders. While Mikaye and Ahunei would occasionally visit Kaye, their visits grew less frequent as their child grew. Kaye was raised in the creche of Telgar Weyr, and as a youth, they were blissfully unaware of their world, wandering through it as if in an optimistic daze. They had few friends, and were often enveloped in their own world. An imaginative daydreamer at heart, they rarely took responsibility or chose to play with peers.
At 15, they became a candidate. They often zoned out during their lessons, but they were quite bright, and able to learn information by hearing it once. When they'd been a candidate for long enough, they stopped paying attention entirely, preferring to sleep during classes. They got very good at sleeping unnoticed, and slept lightly enough to wake up should the candidate master draw too close to their seat. They stood for many hatchings, often doing the bare minimum in terms of chores or assignments. When they Impressed at 20, however, things changed. Suddenly, they were expected to do things, and Gliith was quite willing to drive them to work harder. When they graduated, they rewarded themselves with a firelizard.
In their very first threadfall, carelessness was their downfall. Their eye--and Gliith's leg--were badly scored. Their damaged eye had poor vision, if any, following the injury, and Gliith was far slower on the ground than most dragons, tending to limp and favor the leg. Guilt plagued them, so they tried harder...at least in threadfall and drills. They became a hard worker, but neglected any duties unrelated to flying thread, whenever they could. Around this time, they became more bitter, more tired--less of a lazy dreamer, more of a bitter old person who just plain didn't feel like it.
They weren't especially close to any of the others in their weyrling class, but Gliith was fond of Hayutoth, one of the browns. He rarely remembered the brown, of course, but whenever the memories were brought up, he missed his brother. Likewise, while H'kaye wasn't very close to the class, they tolerated some of them better than others. Jexin was one of the few they tolerated. After struggling to make friends at Telgar Weyr, they followed Jexin to Fort, moving around the same time as he did.
Early summer, 2771. Why were they transferring in the midst of an oppressive bronzerider's rule? Well, Jexin seemed to think it would end soon...and he was right. Something something inevitable power vacuum? Either way, they transferred, bored and uninvolved, uninterested in Fort's politics. Eventually, Z'osh was, indeed, ousted, and things returned to an uneasy normal. More clutchsiblings started transferring, and H'kaye found that even still, they made few friends, if any.
