Carce serves as a copyist and was previously of the Scribecraft. He left to pursue broader interests and now doubles as a Tailor for the locals when not writing. His copied works are usually to spread less-popular educational writings that simply avoid the Scribercraft's attention and thus never get very well circulated. It also helps for counterfeiting and even the rare original script thrown in. Mostly, though, he keeps records and inventories for the hold in place of a proper harper. His handwriting is stylized tastefully with a unique quality that serves as his signature.

His tailoring is... of average quality. He mostly does repairs and hems and hasn't the skill yet to craft his own clothes. He does do dyes up nicely though.

HEIGHT AND BUILD: 5'8" and slightly on the fuller side of fit.
FULL APPEARANCE:

A pale complexion turned only slightly tan by the sun of Semaca's long days and pitch black hair gives Carcino a contrasting look right from the first glance. Light brown eyes look almost yellow under the light and are suddenly near black in the dark. Up close, the reason is clear; the true color a subtle brownish-gray like sand.

His black hair, thick with loose curls and long as his arm, is kept tied messily out of his face with bits of leather or twine. He keeps a fuzz of a beard most of the time but shaves it clean along the edges from time to time and keeps it short. Bodily, he has highlights of hair, not a full covering but not bare either. He's rarely nude enough to tell, though, as Carcino prefers a modest covering at near all times.

He has a scar from a brawl as a kid with another his age, a jagged rip in the skin of his back, rarely seen but very visible when uncovered.

He prefers to keep himself well covered albeit with loose fitting, light weight materials, loathe to be too long exposed and end up burned or baked. He likes dark colors but uses white and similar light shades to tie to his skin tone and hopefully make him look a little less ill at a glance.

In recent months, Carcino has begun to put on weight. He's curvy around the middle and doesn't seem particular concerned about it. He's enjoyed a much more comfortable life as of late and it suits him.

born holdless, raised as a fosterling in a trading caravan after his parents worked out a deal with a trader to do so? Eventually ends up working at a small fishing village where he learns to sail and some work ethic. it's during his time here that he also manages to impress his gold fire lizard.

During the in between turns of youth and adulthood, his natural skill for writing and fondness of reading moved him yet again to the Scribecraft where he both refined his skills and made a social life for himself. This leads to his getting into trouble though never enough to earn a total eviction.

It's during his final turn there that his poor habits catch up with him. A lover declares him the father of her pregnancy and he chooses to court the reluctant but hopeful lady rather than continue his full time work as a Scribe. He moves in with her. Things are going well enough, though he continues his questionable side jobs to make up for his losses. Too far removed to travel and often busy carrying the extra loads at good for his expectant missus, he began to work himself into exhaustion.

It all fell apart when his lady died in childbirth. His daughter survived but only just, with no one besides her family to turn to.

Family that happened to be of the sailing sort. Cousins and most importantly, an aunt ready to foster the child, made his decision easy. When they offered him a place on the crew in good faith, a familial gesture, he took it without a second glance.

he's let in for his skill on a ship and for his well-trained firelizard queen and the future clutches she could bring to the newly established 'hold'. His daughter is fostered closer to home here, letting him be a dad when he's not working.
