Pelekai is your average little girl, standing at an ever-growing height of 3' 5," her build round and soft, lacking what definition and strength that adulthood would yield. For her features, she sports long inky black hair, and warm brown eyes, large and set deep above a round nose. At her age, Pelekai has no sense of what's fashionable, deciding to wear what suits her current engagement, most often climbing trees or running about alongside Tarva. Otherwise, she wears a flower-patterned pink dress and toeless sandals every reasonable chance she gets, so long as she faces no danger in doing so.

Pelekai seems a touch different from her fellow creche-mates, but what child isn't unique in her own way? Pelekai enjoys exploring in Semaca's jungles, sewing and repairing her dolls, asking a million questions on whatever topic comes to mind, among others. But she's not all sunshine and rainbows. Pelekai is incredibly stubborn and hardheaded, resulting in her demonstrating flagrant disobedience and disrespect, especially to those who try to tell her to do something and not offer a reason why they get to tell her what's what.

Pelekai was one of relatively few children born in Semaca Weyr, daughter to dragonrider parents. As her parents were near overwhelmed by expectations and duties as dragonriders, they turned Pelekai to Semaca's creche, though they still drop in on occasion to see her. Growing no strong attachment to her birth parents, Pelekai seemed perfectly comfortable as she was, and sought some friends once she had a mind to do so. It was a simple enough matter to find playmates to spend her days, but ones who shared in her unique interests were a rare thing indeed. Pelekai liked to sit and listen to stories told by creche workers and watch dragons go by and dream about riding such a majestic beast as much as every other weyrbrat, but after learning to sew even a single stitch, she delved passionately into crafting dolls. Granted, while her heart had good intentions, she didn't possess a sense for proportions or dimensions, resulting in her dolls looking rather unnerving. Regardless, she loved them and loved her hobbies, even though it got her some strange looks from her fellow creche children.
