FULL APPEARANCE:
Rhys is, for lack of other words, long. He is long, he is lanky, and he knows it. He's got a strong jaw and nice cheekbones, his skin is a nice beige and he has a small amount of freckles dusting across his face. He always says that his best trait are his eyes, one blue and one brown. Faranth only knows how he got those!
He actually has some solid fashion sense, sort of. He thinks he has horrible, horrible fashion sense. Horrible! Too many layers, not enough layers, too many colors, not enough colors- on the rare occasion that he dresses well enough for himself, the one good he thing he knows he has fashion-wise is his socks! He has a sock collection that he refuses NOT to show off.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
This man is a smug dork, plain and simple. He says nerdy things, he geeks out about things that he's passionate about, he can't flirt for the life of him, and if he sees someone that he idolizes he completely messes it up by trying to act super cool and then blowing it. He's clumsy as all hell and continually falls on his face. He can get quite smarmy (but eventually falls over his own words). Despite all this, he's great at scanning and analyzing things and people and putting together a conclusion. But, he's a bit of a captain obvious at sometimes.
At his core, Rhys really is a good man- but he's not afraid to do horrible things to get him into a good spot. When he befriends someone, he really does think of them as a friend, He'll crack a stupid joke or something to keep the mood goin'. If worst comes to worst, he feels bad when he or they betray each other. He thinks that patience sucks and he has way too much ambition to go around.
HISTORY
FAMILY: Rhiandyr (father, alive), Nys (mother, alive)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: A small farming hold beholden to Fort
HISTORY:
Rhys was the only son of two farmers in a small farming hold and he was content with that for most of his life. Days were spent either running around and playing, as a child would, or helping his parents out in the fields. He was better suited to managing the fields rather than the physical work as, despite his parents' strong farmer physiques, Rhys never seemed to inherit that. He was good for counting, sometimes harvesting, but never the really heavy duty stuff.
He had an affinity for reading, read a lot more because he was often alone. Being lonely was something that he got a little bit accustomed to, most of the other kids his age at the hold thought he was something of a nerd because he read so much. That was alright, he had the characters in his stories to be friends with him, right?
Searchdragons came to his little hold one day, looking for candidates. Rhys had somehow found himself among the small number of teens that they took back with them to Fort. Rhys found himself chumming around with other candidates and left when a better opportunity presented itself at Ista for a dragon, he left, albeit with some suspicions of being so far away for home for so long, especially if he Impressed. Fort Weyr wasn't that far from Fort Hold, Ista on the other hand... definitely farther. He was a little concerned, but a Hatching was a Hatching even if it was small.
Small it may have been, but it provided Rhys with a partner in crime... if being a dork was a crime. Vauth popped out of her egg and who could blame Rhys for absolutely losing his mind over having a dragon? That was so cool! Never in his little farming life did he think he'd be getting a dragon, yet here he was!
Graduation came and went, and the boy had a choice to make. He could stay in Ista, go back to Fort where he'd originally been brought to, or, he could go to the new Weyr that had been created during his weyrlinghood. A new location could bring new things, so he and Vauth transferred over to Semaca as soon as he was allowed to go.
