FULL APPEARANCE: Depending on the day, Emaran can be found in dresses or pants. All xir outfits are finely cut and made of good material, if a little on the plain side of fashionable. Xe keeps xir hair at shoulder length and usually ties it back, though for special occasions xe will let it down. Xe isn't done growing yet but will always be on the shorter side of average. In most other ways, xe fits the Pernese average, with brown skin and dark eyes. Though skinny for now, xe will broaden a bit as xe finishes puberty, though xe will never be considered burly.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Emaran feels obligated to fit a series of roles. Older sibling, younger sibling, backup heir, child, full wherhandler...Xe's still largely discovering who xe is apart from social expectations, but xe's generally quiet and observant, preferring to think before xe speaks. Xe hates witnessing confrontation between others and tries to act as a mediator in almost every situation. Xe will defend xirself when the need arises, though. By default, xe's the kind to take harm for a stranger, preferring to see the good in people, though xe's surprisingly vicious toward anyone who's harmed xir.

Emaran has a strong need for adventure, though xe's duties have largely kept xir Holdbound until recently. Xe hopes that the Weyr and wherhandling duties will give xir a chance to see new sights and explore. It remains to be seen whether xe will continue having this adventurous spirit, or whether xir thirst for novelty will be quenched with time. For now, xe loves change and looks at everything at the Weyr with wide-eyed curiosity.

Interestingly enough, xe isn't very creative. Xe's intelligent, for sure, easily able to pick up new skills and information and apply them to the appropriate situations, but creating anything novel of xir very own is something that xe struggles with. Deep down, xe's glad that xe wasn't left to run the Hold, because true leadership is something that requires that spark that xe lacks.

Born as the second child to the leaders of an ancient if relatively unimportant hold near Telgar, Emaran lacked for nothing, though xe didn't live in any true luxury. Xe was a quiet, observant child, with only a few close friends among the other children of the Hold. Though xir family was very supportive of xir nonstandard gender, the other Holders were not so welcoming, and Emaran took to the quieter, lesser-known places of the Hold as a refuge during the day when xir parents were busy with running the Hold.

Emaran grew up in proximity to Telgar, and xir older sibling was awed by its comparative luxury, hoping to someday transform the Hold to become more powerful and prestigious. Emaran was wary, though xe understood where xir sibling was coming from. Xe understood that power came at a price.

As Emaran's life continued, xe found xir way to the Telgar wherhandlers. Xe was fascinated by whers, and xe had always preferred the night anyway, even more so as xe began to hit puberty. In one tragic night, xir entire life changed when one of the senior wherhandlers suffered a fatal stroke. Xe panicked and cut xirself on the knife xe had been using to help cut up meat for the wherlings, and it was only later that xe noticed that the wherhandler's brown had licked his wound clean. The brown was saying something about being Almarask, and it hit Emaran that xe was now a wherhandler. Though xe had wanted this, xe hadn't wanted it this way, and xe took a lot of cajoling to go through wherlinghood.

Needing a change of scenery, Emaran said xir farewells to xir family right after graduation and applied for a transfer to Fort Weyr.

UPDATES

• Fall 2764 - Liyanel is Searched and joins Emaran at Fort.
• Spring 2765 - Almarask gets scored on his left forefoot stepping in a Thread burrow. He will make a full recovery.
• Summer 2765 - Liyanel nopes out to High Reaches after Serapheth's Trailblazers hatching. Emaran joins aer because xe thinks ae kind of has a point.
• Fall 2765 - Liyanel transfers to Semaca and Impresses to gold Nebulaeth. The siblings agree that they'll stay separated, at least for the duration of Liyanel's weyrlinghood. Emaran is learning to adjust to life without xir sibling.
• Summer 2767 - Almarask steps wrong, badly twisting his left foreleg, damaging several ligaments (Major).

FULL APPEARANCE: Almarask is at the very upper limit of the brown size range, and has the build to go with it, rivaling some bronzes in sheer body mass. He's sturdy, with thick limbs and a powerful chest. He'll never be speedy, but he will endure. He's well-proportioned, with no body part being built out of the ordinary. His hide is a medium-light, soft brown, and he has rings of a much darker, almost black shade of brown around each leg near the knee. Two more of these rings adorn his tail, and the thickest one of all encircles his neck.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Over the Turns, Almarask has become a guiding figure, patient and willing to offer advice. To his former handler, he was a companion and best friend, and he still retains this role with Emaran, only with an added component of protectiveness. He's a brotherly figure to Emaran, teasing his handler while willing to tell xir where xe's going wrong. He doesn't easily extend this fondness to strangers and is sometimes overprotective of Emaran, not wanting his handler to be hurt but not acknowledging that Emaran needs to do things for xirself. He shares his surprisingly vicious sense of self-preservation with Emaran, and the only times he's ever come close to violence are when he or his handler are threatened.

While he doesn't regret bonding with Emaran, he wishes it could have been when Emaran was older, not when xe was barely of age for wher candidacy. Almarask feels it's his duty to do the best he can by Emaran, and will often run himself into the ground looking after his handler's well-being. He takes guilt to an extreme sometimes, and can be maudlin and sulky. On a daily basis, though, he's friendly to others, if a little distant, and can be flirty if there's a wher that catches his eye. He doesn't particularly like wherlets, though he'll tolerate them as part of his duties, and won't ever be a particularly devoted father, in contrast to his devotion to his human.

FULL APPEARANCE: Emarsk is brown, there's no hesitation there. Brown, brown, and like browns, he is a hardy, sturdy wher. Strong legs, strong chest, strong everything. He is a mottled brown all over, that looks almost like he's made of grains of sand. It's a peculiar hide pattern, but it makes him look equally handsome. It's a caramelly sort of sweet-colored brown, but he definitely tastes like a wher, not candy.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Emarsk is a wher with a sense of distinguishing flair to him. He stands out - smooth and suave are words that come to mind! He's thoughtful in his actions and word choice, wanting to impress and delight those he comes across. He does not lack in etiquette and elegance, and overall is a very polite and friendly creature. He's flirty, there's no denying that, but not in an unpleasant way; he'll go out of his way to find reasons to compliment fellow whers - and even dragons- just to draw cheer or amusement from them. His whole goal with others is to find a way to connect and get to know them better.

With his rider, he is a determined and hard working partner. He believes in finding ways to work together to improve together. As a whole, he wants to make the world a better place. He believes the best way to do that is to get to see someone's strengths, and to find complimentary ways of supporting them, knowing they will support him back. He's a passionate creature, willing to fight for what he believes in and to face any challenge for the sake of friendship and love. It's obvious he'll make an excellent parent and whermate to someday - but for now, he's just a lover and a fighter, going for the gusto.

FULL APPEARANCE: Numa is a flit of average size for her color. She's thin, but still within the normal build range. Really, the only unusual thing about her is her color, which is a lovely shade of turquoise. She's sometimes mistaken for a small blue. Her wings are more green-tinted than the rest of her body, clearing up the confusion a little bit, and her eyes are usually a content blue or green, complementing her hide perfectly.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Numa is determined and brave. She forms bonds easily and is very affectionate, though she won't hesitate to defend herself or her bonded. For a flit, she's on the intelligent side, able to remember faces and locations with just a little more clarity and for a slightly longer time than normal. She enjoys delivering messages and eating.
