FULL APPEARANCE: Standing tall and with a bulk to rival plenty of fighters, there, Mahi is far from a dainty figure. Though she's not as heavily muscled as a duelist, there is a definite strength to her form, with broad shoulders and thick arms a testament to the potential for power within. From a distance, it's usually her size or her hair that makes her easy to pick out of a crowd, though she usually keeps her hair braided back for ease of care. Mahi is usually dressed for riding, whether that be a runner or a dragon, often dirty from her most recent task, and is seldom clad in any footwear but boots.


PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Despite her sometimes intimidating size, Mahi is generally a warm, if shy, person. She adores animals of all types, and can more often than not be found in the stables or the kennels if she is not tending to her dragon, and is as at ease on a runner as she is on dragonback.

Around people, anxious might be the kindest way to describe her. Social events, especially large ones, will set a tremor into her hands and a quake in her voice. She tries to avoid them, but sometimes duty brings such gatherings. When forced to attend, she can usually be found in a corner. If there is a canine around, she's likely trying to pet it. Not that she is unfriendly at gatherings, but she doesn't like for the spotlight to be on her. When it is, she tends to get woozy, and this longshanks has a ways to fall if she faints. Asking her to make a speech is tantamount to asking her to visit the moon. She never has and she's really not sure it's possible. If she doesn't faint, she might just puke instead.

The question of romance is a complicated one. Having an anxious tendency in social situations means she would likely never be one to make the first move. If a move is made for her, she'll wonder first if they made a mistake. Was it someone else they were meaning to woo? But maybe she'll find love someday.

HISTORY: The daughter of S'dar, a brownrider who took to sowing his seed like the most dedicated of Farmcrafters, and Mar, a healer in the infirmary of Igen, Mahi was raised by her mother and grew up with the other children of the creche, though she remained close with her father. She always volunteered for tasks around the stables and the paddocks, whether that be moving hay or mucking out stalls, she loved the opportunity to work with the stock.

As she grew taller and bulkier, many thought she would suit to Smithing, or join Beastcraft. She decided not to apprentice but instead worked out of the Weyr, helping to train and care for the beast stock and runners. When she was 25, however, a clutch was laid that would shift her life's direction, and she decided she would stand while she was still eligible. Being older, she figured the hatching would be an experience to remember, but never expected a dragonet would even look at her. She was right, sort of.

Kubith burst from her shell but for a piece that she couldn't quite shake from her head, and the blindfolded dragonet ran right into her would-be rider, the bond made before Mahi even lifted the shell fragment from her eyes.
Mahi and Kubith grew their skills together from that moment, but they both wanted to broaden their horizons. That chance came just a Turn ago, when they requested a transfer to High Reaches. Even for a nervous rider, they could reach very high indeed there to find their place on Pern.

FULL APPEARANCE:

A midsize garnet, Kubith is a muted pink with dark markings almost like gills running down her neck, and extending along her tail. A tail which sets her apart from most dragons. Instead of a fork, it ends in a broad set of what can only be described as fins, not unlike those of a shipfish.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Kubith despises fish. Do not compare her to a fish. Do not feed her fish. If you so much as say the word 'fish' near her, you'll get dragon side-eye.
So long as there are no fish involved, however, she tends to be an outgoing and adventurous dragon. She's always willing to volunteer for a mission (whether or not Mahi agrees as well), and generally wants to help as much as possible.
She's not typically an emotional dragon, only becoming annoyed at worst, and can usually be trusted even in the most tense of situations to keep a level head and provide insight not charged by feelings. She is, however, a bit of an ambitious dragon, always pushing Mahi to greater heights. She knows her rider is nervous, but she also knows she has potential. She just needs the wings of her dragon to reach those heights.
