BASICS

NAME: T'kuro
GENDER: Male
PRONOUNS: he/him/his
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual as they come. It would take a lot to change his mind but it's not impossible.

BIRTHDATE: Early Winter 2744
AGE: 30 as of 2774
LOCATION: High Reaches Weyr
OCCUPATION: WingRider
WING: Stormlight Wing

APPEARANCE
EYES: Deep brown
HAIR: Jet black
HEIGHT AND BUILD: T'kuro is fairly large in his stature but not incredibly so. He comes in at about 6'3" and fairly broad. But even a glance would tell you that little of it is fat and he is one accustomed to physical work.
PLAY-BY: Alex Meraz
FULL APPEARANCE: T'kuro stands a bit above average with a strong build. He's got a slightly laid back appearance to him right up until he doesn't. He consistently gives the impression of being at ease, but anyone who knows him at all knows of his constantly vigilant and ready nature. He keeps himself tidy enough but isn't going to make a fuss if his hair is mussed a little or if there's a little dust on his clothes. But overall he wasn't too concerned.

T'kuro's skin gleams a deep tan in color and is marred only by a few old scars gotten over the years of not being at all hesitant to jump into most any fight. But there really wasn't much of consequence.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: T'kuro is a bit like a two sided coin. For the most part he's pretty easy going and good natured. Fairly confident in himself, almost to a detriment. But he's got good reason to be, or at least no real good reason not to be. One wouldn't call him cocky necessarily, but he's got a healthy dose of self assuredness that he's not afraid to portray. T'kuro fancies himself a bit of a protector of those weaker than himself... A knight if you will. He is the first one to jump into the fray if some injustice is being done. That said, he also has a bit of a disregard for the rules if he sees them as interfering with him doing what he feels is right. A slight defiant streak has built in the young man as a result and unless he believes in the authority above him, he's highly likely to balk against it.

Not afraid to speak his mind, T'kuro can be brash and outspoken. But even so there's a silver refinement to his tongue that often keeps him out of trouble, or even simply amuses those around him. Jokes and humorous wit jump to his tongue just as quickly as dissent making his aims and true personality fairly hard to pin down. T'kuro is fairly impulsive as is shown through his own history and can be quite dogged in his beliefs, his mind nigh impossible to sway once he's made it up. This can easily make him both a staunch ally or an incredible thorn in one's side.

HISTORY
FAMILY: T'kuro never did know his family well. He might have met his birth parents a couple of times, but he considers all the Weyrbrats and Candidates that he's grown up with over the years as his family. He was born to a pair of Riders as many of the Weyrbrats were. T'kuro was fathered by a particularly ambitious WingLeader and a fiery young Green Rider, both of strong temper and determination.
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: Not yet!
BIRTHPLACE: Telgar Weyr
HISTORY: Tarakuro's story started like many that have been told in the Weyr. His mother and father met in a rush of Flight induced... Well you get the picture. His life started among the Weyrbrats but as soon as he could walk, his personality began to come on strong. Even as a tiny brat, he didn't suffer bullies or those that thought fit to pick on those smaller than them.

This continued well through Tarakuro's life. He became a bit of a trouble for those who watched over him, as if there was trouble Tarakuro was almost always wrapped up in the middle of it. But those that truly watched and saw through what went on saw where he stood in the altercations. But honestly with all those Weyrbrats around, who had time to get the whole story? Push come to shove, young Tarakuro got very good at kitchen duty. But it served him well as he grew. He was formed by the fire around him and learned quickly how to defend without it becoming an all our brawl. He got smarter as he grew and slowly less punishment seemed to come his way. But that said, he still never would back down from a fight and would often get into altercations defending this or that.

One thing was for sure. Tarakuro always knew he wanted to be a Dragon Rider... He felt it his job to defend those around him, but with a dragon at his side? The pair of them would be unstoppable... He dreamed of bonding to a bold Bronze, or perhaps a noble Brown... They'd have to be big and strong to help him be the shield for Weyr and Hold alike. Surely he was meant for greatness. So it was shortly after his fifteeth turn day, he was allowed to step forward and put himself forth to be a candidate. To head to the sands and try his hand at finding his life partner. His first hatching was a thrilling one. It had been a medium sized clutch but there were two eggs befit a bronze and even still two more that held browns. One of which would surely have chosen Tarakuro as their own. Right? Wrong... Tarakuro was overlooked by the dragonets that emerged. But as he was told, not everyone impressed at their first Hatching. Not everyone impressed their first chance. So he didn't let it get to him. He put his attentions more into the Candidates around him. His aim was to be a friend to those who came in to try to be well liked by those he shared quarters and goals with. Naturally this came with varying results.

But as the Hatchings continued... Season after season... Year after year. Tarakuro stood waiting for his turn. He attended every Touching, every Hatching... But still... No dragon chose him. Him! The son of a Bronze Rider! A proud lineage of two strong riders. And no. He wasn't even worthy of so much as the tiniest Blue. Tarakuro tried to keep the façade that he didn't care. That it didn't bother him... But in reality, it shattered him within. He began to withdraw. He tried to pour more of himself into caring for those around him but it became increasingly hard to watch the Candidates come and go as they found their matches. Five turns passed and still nothing. Thankfully the social climate was fairly stable here in Telgar so all there was to do was wait. But still he'd do his job. He'd be steadfast and sure but time kept marching on. Slowly his actions were becoming automatic as he attended Hatchings. Same old song and dance.

Before he could really even blink, five more turns had passed heralding his twenty fifth turn. This was painful to Tarakuro... Twenty five and still being left standing on the sands. His last chance was rapidly approaching... And he was growing more desperate. He wanted a dragon, he needed to join their ranks, did they not understand? But where was his? Now in his twenty fifth year, it seemed a tentative hope flared within him. Was this his year? Would he make it before he aged out?

Fate wasn't done with Tarakuro yet. He attended a fairly small clutch. There were more candidates than he'd liked so he didn't think himself all that likely to find his own. This clutch felt different... Tarakuro couldn't put his finger on why but there was a strange hope that lifted his spirits that of which had been absent in so many Hatchings in his experience. He still had a little time... Perhaps this time would be different.

And sure enough, fate was funny in how it moved and despite the pain and uncertainty, something moved through like a soothing balm. A voice... Sort of. It was in his head. He knew of this from the calls of the other dragons around the Weyr. But this was different... So different. A voice so warm, so sweet... And so his... Mine... My T'kuro... I've found you... I see your heart and your desire to protect those around you. I need you. Immediately T'kuro looked up, his eyes searching for the being who belonged to the voice. There... His warm brown eyes met whirling rainbows and his breath hitched. Here standing before him was not a brave Bronze, a noble Brown... Not even an eager Blue... But a... Garnet? "Merakath..." And for once, the newly paired Candidate was at a loss for words. But it was abundantly clear that the former Candidate needed her too...

Suddenly none of the rest of the Hatching mattered much to T'kuro. He had found his Dragon and she had found him. Together they were quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. The gentle spirit of Merakath was not what T'kuro had envisioned for his bonded. But he found a fierce love for the more timid dragoness all the same. They worked quickly and furthered their bond through their Weyrling training. T'kuro still got into fights. It would often come to blows if a single negative thing was said about his beauty. She was his world and not anyone would say a thing about her.

After Weyrling training, T'kuro quickly joined one of the Wings of Telgar, beginning the fulfillment of his dream of flying the skies and together the pair of them worked and trained hard. They spent a few turns flying in the Wings of Telgar fulfilling their dream of protecting those they cared so deeply about. Life went well for the pair although they were consistently at odds as to how to spend their time. T'kuro wanted to fly and train all the waking hours while Merakath would often much prefer to spend time with the Weyrbrats or even the Flitters... But the two are slowly coming to terms with each other and as many a dragon pair, becoming stronger for it. Recently T'kuro and Merakath have made the decision to transfer Weyrs, moving to High Reaches Weyr. Reasoning? It was as of yet unknown, but perhaps it was simply because T'kuro needed a new horizon to explore. Who knows what fate had in store next?

BASICS

NAME: Merakath
BIRTHDATE Late Summer 2769
AGE: 5 as of 2774

CLUTCHING
[Whers/Dragons only]

CLUTCHING: YES
RUNS/FLIGHTS: 1

APPEARANCE
LENGTH: 40'
HEIGHT: 9'
WINGSPAN: 64'
COLOR: Garnet
HEX CODE: #660000
FULL APPEARANCE: Merakath is a lovely little thing to behold. She's not the biggest of her breed but she's nothing to scoff at either. Built fairly like a small tank she's no petite fairy dragon. Somewhere around the middle of her breed in length, a little short but with a wingspan to make up for it. She's certainly an interesting one to behold. Typically with her more quiet, nervous nature, she makes herself as small and non-imposing as possible even at five turns old. Her markings are slight and delicate in the form of a lovely little armlet tattoo mark on her foreleg and light feather-like frills along her jawline and up toward her headknobs. A large pair of deep gray teardrop shaped markings adorn her shoulders, but the most prominent feature that sets this little lady apart is the impressive flair of a cobra hood along the sides of her head and down her neck. This has been a source of discomfort for the fairly demure young Garnet as it has drawn far more attention than she would like. Most of her body and wings are clad in a warm varying dark cherry red and crimson subtle circular pattern while her hood, face, headknobs, and lone sock on her left foreleg are a brighter more vibrant apple red.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Merakath has an incredibly sweet and gentle temperament. Very understated, she'd much rather work in the background and remain unnoticed as often as is remotely possible. She's a hard worker, determined and steadfast but she becomes very uncomfortable when she or her works are brought into the lime light. She has a very strong gentle motherly sort of demeanor to her which comes out mainly when she's dealing with her bonded or small beings of almost any sort. There's a certain protective tendency that is constantly at war with her shy nature that creates quite a bit of tension within this young dragon.

She has a very warm, soft voice that if it is not paid close attention to can sometimes go unnoticed. But even so, Merakath has been learning ways to make herself heard as she grows and matures.
