FULL APPEARANCE:
T'rios is of average height, with a trim build, like that of a runner. He has good muscle toning from nearly a decade and a half as a rider, but not is not overly bulky. His legs are slightly longer in proportion to his torso. His skin is tanned from years in the sun, and has hints of wrinkles forming around his eyes.
He tends to have perpetual stubble or a short beard, but doesn't like to let it grow out long. His hair is wavy and about shoulder length, and he keeps it slicked or tied back. He has a few streaks of gray going through his hair, especially around the temples. T'rios suffers from a resting grump face, and perpetually looks unhappy.
For clothing, T'rios tends to wear practical clothes for a rider, preferring his attire to be black or white with red and gold accents. He tends to look put together, and can dress up for a special occasion, he just prefers not to. He often wears gloves, even when not riding.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
T'rios is a very serious man, and is seldom seen smiling. He's a loner, and prefers to do everything by himself, if possible. He doesn't trust others easily, especially when it comes to handling tasks. He'd rather just take a burden on himself than share responsibility with someone else. Making friends does not come easily to him, and if he had say in it, he would spend all his time brooding alone.
Because he puts so much stock in his own ability to handle tasks, he is a bit cocky. He thinks he can tackle any task, even if it is much too big for a single person to take on. He doesn't hesitate to talk down to people he sees as less skilled than he is, or those younger than him. Not that he has much respect for people older than him either. He just generally doesn't like people and will do his best to either brush people off or antagonize them into leaving him alone.
T'rios will not shy away from violence or doing whatever it takes to accomplish his goals. He views rules and laws as suggestions more than requirements, and will break them if they stand in his way. He is stubborn, determined, and never leaves something half-done. He also has a vengeful streak, and will never forgive someone who crosses him, or his loved ones.
All that said, T'rios made a promise long ago to fight for peace and prosperity on Pern, and no matter how antisocial he is, he will always fight to protect as many lives as possible.

HISTORY:
TW: Death Mention
Terios was born to a pair of farmers in a minor hold near Fort. His family was one of many that tended to their fields in thankless, necessary work to keep themselves fed.
Growing up during the Interval War was difficult and taxing for young Terios. Though his family lived in a small enough hold that it wasn't much of a target for enemy Weyrs, there was constant rumors and news spreading of various holds that had been attacked, distant family and friends that had died as collateral damage in the war between weyrs.
Through all of this exposure to war and strife from birth, Terios was a dour and serious child. The only respite from the suffering and hardship of war was a neighbor girl a few turns older than him, Maria, who always saw the good in the world. No matter how tough times were, Terios was able to hold onto hope and a sliver of happiness with Maria around. The two grew up together, spending nearly every moment that they were not working on their family's farms playing and exploring, escaping from the hardship of their lives. Maria dreamed of a world where peace reigned and they didn't have to worry about fighting each other. Terios always thought that was unlikely, but supported her vocally, wishing such a reality could come to pass, as unlikely as it was.
Over the years, Terios developed deep feelings for Maria, but never told her about them. By the time he reached 17 turns of age, he had finally worked up the courage to tell her how he felt. Unfortunately for him, in one of the last attacks of the Interval War, their hold was targeted by riders from Benden. Maria was killed in the attack. As she was dying, she made Terios promise that he would fight to protect the people of Pern, to keep them safe and give them a chance to be happy.
Unsure of how to do such a thing, he continued to work on the family farm, overwhelmed with grief and desiring revenge for his beloved. The war ended though, and there was no more enemy to take revenge on. Soon, riders came to the hold looking for candidates, and Terios was Searched. He went with the rider to Fort Weyr, where he pursued his candidacy.
He served as a candidate for several turns, standing multiple times, but never impressing. Finally, at age 24, he impressed to the last dragon to hatch in a clutch that produced the strange new Garnets. Impressing to Taibabrith, Terios, now T'rios, entered weyrlinghood, unsure of what the appearance of the garnets meant.
Still, a dragon was a dragon, and so long as she could fly and flame, T'rios was pleased to have her. Now he could finally fulfill his promise to Maria, and protect the people of Pern by fighting thread. He was a staunch defender of Taibabrith and the other garnets, even as traditionalists spoke ill of the new color mutation.
The early years for the pair were rough, as Taibabrith was cheery and happy, and a little too familiar personality-wise for serious T'rios. The upbeat dragon reminded him in many ways of Maria, which he has slowly grown to accept, though it was difficult for him to get to that point.
During their early years as a pair, tensions between Benden and Fort continued to grow, as Benden attacked during one of Serapheth's clutches, kidnapping several riders. T'rios wants to join the party that retaliates against Benden, finally having a chance to take revenge on the Weyr. Taibabrith does not agree that they should bring active harm to others, and the pair have a massive fight. In the aftermath, they agreed that it would be best for the pair to relocate, to keep the away from the temptation and potential for T'rios to take revenge against Benden. They transferred to the newly founded southern Weyr, Semaca.
Taibabrith thrived in the southern continent, but T'rios did not enjoy the heat. Still, he held out for over a decade, because Taibabrith liked it so much. Slowly though, he began to resent the decision to go south. Sure, he could fight spotties, but part of him always felt like he was abandoning the promise he made to Maria by not protecting the people of the northern holds.
After some discussion, the pair agreed they would transfer again, now that tensions between Benden and the other northern weyrs had simmered down a bit. Now in 2776, the pair has moved to High Reaches, where they can assist with the holdless crises as well as fight Thread in a greater capacity. Taibabrith is also happy to move to the same weyr as her brother, Hatorth.
