FULL APPEARANCE: Safvris has a wide and stocky bone structure, despite not being the tallest and standing at average height. She is not sturdy, however, nor does she look it. No, there is a softness about her form, no matter how hard she works as a rider, one that adds a bit more femininity to her figure. While she is neither strong nor fast, she has careful, steady fingers, the sort that would lend well to a crafter, had her life circumstances been different. Overall, she is pretty, with a square jaw, large lips, and smooth olive skin. Her eyes are so dark they look almost black, and her brown hair is worn at medium length and straight.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: As an intelligent and studious woman, Safvris is quite knowledgeable. Logical and straightforward, she thinks in blacks and whites, leaving her confused in the absence of clear categories. She speaks in a monotone, presenting evidence in what she considers to be a clear way, to support her conclusions, even if she’s speaking about something entirely mundane. Crafts fascinate her, and she collects things that track time, such as hourglasses and candles. She works hard and puts her all into everything she does at the expense of her personal life. As an overachiever, she is thorough, accurate, meticulous, and efficient. She does her job, but resents authority and distrusts most metallics. Ambitious people are disliked, and certainly not trusted. Her cold exterior hides protective loyalty and a strong affection for her loved ones, but she does seek out company often, despite seeming antisocial. Assertive, she advocates both for herself and for others, particularly the oppressed and bullied. Safvris knows who she is, with a quiet confidence that, at times, borders on arrogance. She is who she is, despite her flaws, and won’t change the core of herself. She is comfortable in her own skin with a self-assured nature.
Safvris struggles with expressing affection and emotions, and channels this through sarcasm. She can be insulting, disdainful, and condescending, but she means well. She knows she’s rude and impolite with a sharp tongue, and does make an attempt to rein herself in. Her harsh, scathing sass is indiscriminate, regardless of how she feels about you or what rank you have. While she seems like she is done with your shards, while she tells hard truths, while she is overly blunt and to the point, Safvris is not as unkind as she seems. Her lack of tact is paired with tolerance and even patience. She puts up with a lot, and, despite her words, she will wait for those who may be a bit slower to learn or change. Despite her tolerance, she refuses to let others be hurt, and holds grudges forever.
As she is chilly and detached in demeanor, she can seem a bit unapproachable. Even should she care, she seems distant. Despite sarcasm and dry humor, she is serious, even appearing aloof of disinterested. Low empathy, despite trying, results in a struggle to understand the emotions and reactions of others. She is strong-willed and tough, resilient in the face of adversity.

Born in the deserts of Igen to a pair of traditionalist riders, Safvris was born 11 turns before her little sister. Her father believed in traditional dragon ranks, but due to being raised at a traditional cothold, he also believed in raising his own children. N’sis chose a weyrmate in a lowly greenrider, and despite his cold demeanor, he genuinely loved his oldest. From a young age, Safvris would go with her parents to visit N’sis’ extended family at the cothold, a tradition that would continue until N’sis’s death. After Naviri’s birth, Safvris asserted her gender, and was more or less accepted by both parents. Naviri, on the other hand, would recieve verbal and emotional abuse from her father, resulting in N’sis earning Safvris’s ire.
When she was 14 and Naviri was 3, the family moved to High Reaches. N’sis hoped to make a grab for power in a traditional Weyr, moving to the weyr BECAUSE of Golre, rather than despite her. After moving, Safvris met Enet, a friend, and Amet, a crush. When she was 18, in autumn of 2754, she Impressed to a brown. Despite his ambitions, he was only a chromatic dragon, higher than green, but still constantly in the shadow of bronzes. Amet and Enet Impressed alongside her, and after weyrlinghood, in a new era of peace, Safvris became Amet’s weyrmate. A couple of turns after, threadfall began to fall, and would result in a terrible injury for Amet.
In Autumn of 2761, when Safvris was 25 and Naviri was 14, Golre and her bronzes attacked Fort Weyr. Her father was among the casualties from the attack. He was an awful person, particularly to Naviri, but she found the lack of closure confusing and upsetting. After all, he was still her father, and had been an important part of her life, regardless how negative. After their father died, Naviri was distraught. Safvris could not offer enough support, and suggested that Naviri visit the cothold N’sis had grown up at. Naviri lived there for about a turn, until there was a fire. While no one died, there were several injuries, including for Naviri. Naviri returned in early 2763 as a candidate, and Safvris supported her. She transferred for several clutches, and eventually, Safvris's little sister stood for a clutch at Fort--Nornth's. Safvris had her concerns, given how Nornth's flight had gone, and the lack of a touching, but she was happy nonetheless when Naviri Impressed to a curious green in 2767 at the age of 20, the same turn that High Reaches lost their last gold, with no one to fill their ranks despite heavy threadfall losses. Naviri didn't transfer back immediately, despite visiting her sister often, but when the egg theft occurred in 2770, driving a wedge between Safvris's home and Fort, Naviri returned to her sister's side, albeit unhappily. Safvris regarded her home with disdain, but couldn't bring herself to leave; she'd stayed here through thick and thin, through Golre and beyond, so she wasn't leaving now. Besides, Amet was at High Reaches, as was Aith, Osjeith's mate, and Safvris's mother.
And then...a gold at High Reaches threw them into another uncertain time.
