FULL APPEARANCE:
Pomegranate is a tall girl, standing 6'1". She has her fair share of muscles from working out, the most impressive of which can be found in her arms. She's the type of muscular where you don't really think she's as fit as she is until she wears a shorter-sleeved shirt. She has pale skin that can get sunburnt easily if she doesn't get too careful, lest her skin turn as red as her hair. Her hair is long, easily down to her waist, but she keeps it tied in a low ponytail for convenience's sake.
She has always favorite practical clothes over fashionable ones, and would much rather wear a pair of pants over a skirt any day. Pomy doesn't wear anything too flashy, or too colorful in general, which makes it easier in her opinion to match clothes together. That being said, if a fancy occasion were to occur, she cleans up very nicely.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Pomy is a practical woman, all she wants to do is her part for the success of the Weyr and to live as peacefully as possible. She knows that in order to be useful around the Weyr you need to work hard, so she does! She has an innovative and idealistic mindset and is always willing to wait for however long she needs to see her ideas through to their completion as she wants them to be done as well as possible. She is very charismatic and a great conversationalist, but as comfortable with talking as she is, she isn't really the type to talk your ear off. Pomy is lacking in tact, but not in the typical oblivious way. She understands that there are certain sensitivities that one should be aware of in conversation, but will put the pursuit of truth and knowledge over both her and others' emotions every time. Because of this, she may come off as insensitive.
Pomy has opinions, and isn't afraid to speak them if given the chance to. She thinks that war is a huge waste of time, resources, and life, and that most problems could genuinely be solved through sitting down and having actual conversations and debates about them. She enjoys a more democratic leadership format like the one at High Reaches and thinks that the typical weyrwoman/weyrleader format can lead to favoritism and people who are ill-equipped to lead being thrust into leadership roles. In her opinion, because one has a dragon higher up in the hierarchy doesn't mean that they deserve to be in charge. The chance to lead and the respect of the people must be earned over time, not given out freely. She isn't the type to actively seek out a position of power, however, if a spot opened up and no one was taking it, she would gladly fill the need. It would be her duty to, after all, as a good citizen of the Weyr. She's very stubborn in her beliefs and ideas, combine that with her insensitivity in conversation, her willingness to talk, and her mild perfectionist complex which she projects not only on herself but also others, and you get someone who can be incredibly disagreeable and pushy.
As the Assistant Candidatemaster, Pomy likes to make detailed lesson plans and stick to them. She's not the type to go off on a tangent about what her flit ate for breakfast that morning- unless her students show up early to the lessons, then they might get that or any other friendly small talk she can think of. During the time designated to lessons, she teaches aims to teach what needs to be learned. If there is time left over, she will teach them other things she thinks they might need to know for the future. She's not rude to her students, but isn't one for nonsense, and will try to shut it down if it shows up. She knows that her students are capable of great things, so of course, she has no problems pushing them a little. She tries to work alongside what the Candidatemaster is teaching, but has no problems working around them to get their work done.

SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: High Reaches
HISTORY:
Pomegranate was born and then promptly given to the creche workers to deal with. Her mother transferred to another Weyr not too long after her birth and her father didn't want much to do with her. She was a child of a casual fling after all. Her childhood was pretty much the same as every other creche kid, average. Over time, she found that more and more kids of her father's started popping up in the creche. Little Poms abounding.
She stood for candidacy at 15 because she felt like being able to serve her Weyr would be the job best suited for her. What better way to do that than to protect it from the return of Thread? She spent 4 years in candidacy waiting for the dragon of her dreams to come and choose her as their rider- of course, any sort of dragon was the dragon of her dreams to Pomy. The best part of the whole situation to her was that if she ever aged out, she would go and buy a wher egg and become a wherhandler.
She got lonely as the years in candidacy went on, and found herself buying a firelizard egg. It hatched and revealed a big bronze flit, which she promptly fed and named Arils. He was quite the troublemaker... but she could always settle him down for cuddles. And if he ever sat on her lap unprompted? She couldn't move. It was just too precious. After watching as all sorts of events just happen around her, Pomy was grateful that the Hatching of her dragon, a loud green named Lyth, was nothing short of peaceful.
As time went on, she watched as Golre declared High Reaches the Peacekeepers, and watched as Golre was later killed in battle. The rest of her life was just as remarkable as her childhood, so, not very. She spent it all getting by, working hard, and trying her best not to die. So, in short, she lived the average dragonrider lifestyle. She just recently took up the position of Assistant Candidatemaster. The position was vacant! If she wanted to aid in helping the Weyr, then she needed to perform her duty, and help out wherever help was needed. She'd spent enough years in candidacy to understand the process on a high enough level, and she'd be more than willing to help the candidates out in whatever way they needed. It would be easy, or, easy enough, in her mind.
She is still quite mad about the egg thievery and thinks that High Reaches and Fort should sit down and talk about what happened to try and better their relations. But... maybe not right now in the middle of the coup at Fort. After, when everything is stable.
While originally part of Starfall wing, Pomy has since moved to the new Raindance wing and has fairly high hopes for its success. As long as everyone works together like a well-oiled machine, there should be no problems... right?
