FULL APPEARANCE: Lou takes great pride in her physical appearance. A first impression is always important, so she never leaves her space until she looks at least slightly presentable.
She has long, wavy hair that she usually keeps in a bun when doing exercise or doing any physical activity. Her chin is fairly pointed, and she has a strong, stern looking jaw. She is decently muscled in both her arms and legs, but does not go out of her way to bulk up. Her face is usually set in a neutral position, and she rarely smiles.
Lou works to keep her face looking as clean and spotless as she can, and the same holds true to all her clothing. It’s also highly unusual to see her without her gloves on, as she prefers to keep her hands as clean as possible. She’s not adverse to getting dirty, nor does it bother her too much when it does inevitably happen. But she will clean up as soon as she’d physically able, and will not let herself be seen again until she is once again presentable.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Lou is a very controlling person.
She works hard due to her upbringing and beliefs, and believes that those who work hard should be rewarded for their efforts. Of course, she knows that luck and other things factor in, and does not let such things as bad timing and being looked over three times by golds deter her. She knows exactly what she wants, and does whatever she can to get her happily ever after.
Lou is a firm believer in never giving up. Tenacious and even bullheaded at times, she works herself to exhaustion to get what she wants in life. But this can lead to her seeming as if she doesn’t care about anyone but herself. Sometimes, this can be the case, as she doesn’t consider the desires of others unless they coincide with what she wants. She does have difficulty with intro-personal relationships, but she does know when to admit when she’s wrong, and apologize. Ultimately, all she wants is for the Wyer to prosper and flourish, so that no child or elder will ever have to suffer if she can help it.
As far as how she feels about the established authority, she’s ashamed of how the administration’s been handled. Everything is so loose to her, and she feels as if she ( or if not her, someone else ) could tighten things up, make the weyr more stable and less of n embarrassment. Despite her strong opinions, she doesn’t have the strongest loyalty to Fort Weyr and would be willing to move if offered better opportunities elsewhere.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Gungir – Harper ( dead )
Velvay – Glasscrafter ( dead )
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: none
BIRTHPLACE: Fort Weyr
HISTORY:
Lou’s history is not the happiest.
As far as she can recall, she has always been on her own. She’s lived at Fort Weyr all her life, and does not have the clearest memory of her parents. But it hardly matters. She had seen a lot of pain. A lot of fighting. A lot of chaos that threatened to tear friends and whole weyrs apart. Inter-weyr fighting. Poisonings. Hubris.
Her greatest ambition was to put a stop to that.
She trained as a Candidate as soon as she was physically allowed to, training and learning and becoming the ideal Rider. Standing soon became a way of life to her, as she knew exactly what she wanted when she stepped on those Sands: a Gold dragon.
She would be willing to shoulder burdens, learn any sort of diplomacy, even fight and kill if it meant she could have some semblance of control over the Weyr she called home. She didn’t want others to suffer, and perhaps if she could command the respect of a Gold, then things would be better for everyone. Every Touching she attended, she would call out to any growing Golds, asking them to put their trust in her. That she was willing to do anything to win their Impression. Luckily, she was passed over by any other dragon, which always relieved her.
But she was denied three times. Three Golds hatched, all of whom skipped over her. For what reason, it’s hard to say. But she was disappointed every single time. Regardless, she wanted to continue training. Perhaps she wasn’t fit for THESE Golds. Perhaps her Gold had yet to be born. It would be ok. She was still young, she’d be able to Stand until she was older.
The biggest slap in the face was when Nornth and Blaze pulled that awful stunt. How irresponsible! What a waste of a Gold!
It was then that she realized that perhaps she should be looking elsewhere. Perhaps Fort Weyr wasn’t worth her time and effort. Perhaps there would be other weyrs looking for a promising young candidate who needed her services?
