FULL APPEARANCE: Kazuyuki is someone who looks as though he doesn’t take himself seriously. Rarely sporting any expression other than a goofy grin or a smirk of some sorts, Kazuyuki appears to be a bit of a joker, if you take expression into account. However, when calm, he seems relatively peaceful, and almost gentle. This is accented by long, soft hair and soft grey eyes. When sitting still, he’s the picture of poise, any movements calculated and graceful. While he isn’t quite androgynous, he’s not the epitome of manliness either, pretty and slender the best words to describe him.
He prefers soft greens and whites in his clothing, which is always relatively simple and elegant in looks. He keeps himself clean and tidy despite his mischief, never a strand of hair out of place nor loose threads in his clothing to speak of. To him, looks are important, and everything from his hair to his feet is well-maintained and neat.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: If one were to miss the smirk that often adorns his face, Kazuyuki would seem to be a calm, intelligent individual. This initial impression is often ruined mere seconds after he speaks, due to his much more chaotic nature. He jokes and laughs and makes inappropriate remarks like it’s the most hilarious thing in the world, and has very little respect for authority. Pranks and trickery are par for the course with Kazu, who enjoys getting a rise out of people for his sometimes-mean jokes. While he is intelligent, this intelligence is often put towards plotting, with hardly any brainpower left to spare for basic social interactions.
While he isn’t always trying to be mean, he can be very blunt at times, and has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth when it comes to talking to strangers. This, combined with his blatant disregard for authority and affinity for mostly-harmless pranks, is enough to have him labelled a troublemaker. He doesn’t really mind the label, knowing full well he is the cause of many problems, though Kazu often finds himself wishing that he had more friends than just the one.
He’s very protective of his one friend, both as the person closest to him and the person he’s been in love with for years. He hoards his friend’s attention jealously, and is prone to lashing out with not so nice tricks when others get too close. Anybody who hurts his friend in any way is also immediately thrown onto his list, to be pranked into oblivion by the jealous greenrider.
Kazuyuki is a very active person, and loves to dance and spar. However, he has a few quieter hobbies for the rare occasions when he’s not in the mood for mischief, reading and writing poems common hobbies.

HISTORY: Born to holder parents in a minor hold, Kazuyuki has been a designated troublemaker almost as long as he could walk. Causing chaos and getting into things he shouldn’t were seen as normal Kazuyuki behaviour by the time he’d turned 6, and people learned to eventually ignore his pranks and occasional rudeness. While he wasn’t mistreated, growing up, he wasn’t exactly loved either, and would resort to all kinds of shenanigans to make his parents look at him and acknowledge that he existed beyond vague disappointment in his actions.
This attention-seeking behaviour drove most of the other kids off, though there was one brave boy who ended up befriending him regardless. The calm to Kazu’s storm, the compassion to his childish cruelty, his friend stuck by him no matter how much trouble he caused. Kazu was extremely grateful for him, and in return for that sweet loyalty he was given, he did his best to protect his friend. He would pick fights with kids who bullied him, and shout down any adults who tried to call him troublemaker like Kazu himself was.
This continued on into their teen years, where, to both of their surprise, they had been searched for candidacy at the same time, 16 years old. At first Kazu had refused, not wanting to leave his friend behind, but when he heard the other had been searched as well the pair lept at the chance to leave their home behind and venture into candidacy. Both ended up at Igen Weyr, and during Kazu’s rather short candidacy, they regularly got into trouble for minor pranks. Neither slacked in class, though, and to their surprise Kazuyuki impressed a green the same turn he became 17.
Kazu’s weyrling years were much the same as his brief time as a candidate. Pranks and trickery and minor infractions galore, though he never did anything serious enough to result in heavy punishment. He wore any dislike borne of his attitude proudly, though he and Kazoth always stayed close to one another in case someone decided to aim for revenge. They worked hard to graduate, prancing streak aside, and managed to successfully do so, though some believed them incompetent. They spent a couple of years under scrutiny, but decided they didn’t really like their place in the Weyr.
Their transferring was heralded by one prank that had gone a bit too far. Their weyrleader had torn into them both for such a prank, and as a result they decided to flee the Weyr with their friend after some discussion. Transferring was a pain, but one they were willing to take for more comfort. The other boy had promised to meet him at their new Weyr, and eventually they decided on Semaca, where he was immediately placed onto the Lamentoso squad. Kazuyuki was quickly slapped with the label of troublemaker, but he didn’t mind- his friend was coming with him, and that’s all he cared about.
