FULL APPEARANCE:
Ch'trelle is average height for a woman. She has a stocky build, with some muscle under a small layer of fat that remains persistent, even with the physical labor of being a rider. With a round face, she can be mistaken for someone younger than she actually is. Her skin is pale, when it isn't burnt from the hot Semacan sun. Her hair goes to just past her shoulder blades, and is typically kept tied back in some manner. While she could spend the time to straighten and style her hair, Ch'trelle does not have the patience for that, so her hair is often frizzy from the humidity.
In terms of clothing, Ch'trelle does not care about the look of her clothes, only that they are functional. Oftentimes she just grabs something without much thought, even if it is stained or has holes in it. With Benneth's urging, she has at least started to repair or replace the most egregious parts of her wardrobe, but plenty of what she wears is still well-worn.
Her left arm is covered in a large tattoo sleeve of a dragon breathing fire onto large rocks. Or maybe they're supposed to be mountains? It is some kind of rock feature that is blurry and obscured due to age and terrible technique.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Ch'trelle has the tendency to come on like a hot cup of klah to the face. She is loud and opinionated, and if she has an issue with something, she makes it everyone's problem. She does precisely the amount of work that is expected of her, no more, no less, and she will often complain while doing so. She is not lazy per se, as she shows up on time and does what is assigned to her well, she just needs to gripe about it through the whole process. Ch'trelle is not fond of children and has no patience for them.
For all of her flaws, no one can say that Ch'trelle is not self-assured. She knows she's got what it takes to do a good job, and no one can take that from her. Not one to care about what others think, she does what she wants, even if what she wants is to get a garish tattoo or wear old ratty clothes. She's also loyal to a fault, and cares deeply about the people who can get past her rough exterior. When she's not assigned to work, she can be quite friendly and boisterous, assuming those she's socializing with have gotten past her initial abrasiveness.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Mother - Greenrider of Telgar
Father - Brownrider of Telgar
Multiple younger siblings
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: None
BIRTHPLACE: Telgar Weyr
HISTORY:
Chantrelle was born the eldest daughter to a pair of riders in Telgar, and was raised in the creche. Even from a young age, she had a well-formed sense of who she was and what she was going to be. She knew that she would be a rider someday, just like her parents. As a child, she was a bit of a bully, pushing around younger kids who weren't as big or strong as she was. When the creche workers caught wind of it, they put a quick stop to it, but Chantrelle has been a bit bitter about the other kids "ganging up on her" ever since.
As soon as she was old enough for candidacy, she enrolled. Still entirely sure that she would be a rider someday, she did not feel the need to particularly excel in her duties. She did exactly what was assigned to her, though that frequently ended up being extra duties due to her tendency to talk back to the candidatemaster. She never did quite learn to keep her mouth shut, but she never shirked the extra duties, either.
The turns passed as she continually stood and was passed over in hatchings. Even as she grew older and the threat of aging out began to loom, she didn't worry much. The dragon for her would come along, she just needed to be patient. After eight turns, her steadiness was rewarded when she impressed Benneth, a dragon who was just as sure of herself, and vocal, as Chantrelle, now Ch'trelle.
Ch'trelle and Benneth have spent the past five turns learning what it means to be a rider of Telgar. Though they often disagreed on things, especially whether or not Ch'trelle's tattoo was cool or not, they remained loyal to each other and the other members of their class. With Benneth's siblings seeking the warmth of the southern continent, the pair agreed transfer to Semaca as well, just to keep an eye on them.
