Gr'ell cuts an imposing figure; he is tall and well-built, with a handsome face often accentuated by an intelligent and piercing gaze. He favors fashionable clothes that complement his physique and has a meticulous nature that extends to every aspect of his appearance. He is rarely, if ever, dirty, and if he does get messy, no matter the circumstance, he will clean himself as soon as he can, ensuring he always looks presentable and refined.

Gr'ell is a man marked by his birth as a ranking Holder, a destiny he resents profoundly and carries like a heavy burden throughout his life. This resentment fuels a jaded, often cynical view of love and relationships, shaped by past betrayals and disappointments that left lasting scars on his heart and soul. Though strong-willed and fiercely independent, Gr'ell harbors a quiet rebellious streak. One that manifests less in overt defiance and more in subtle, calculated acts of resistance that often go unnoticed by those around him. His distrust of women, and indeed of anyone showing romantic interest, stems not from mere bitterness but from a protective fear of vulnerability, a defense mechanism forged through years of emotional pain and fear of being hurt again.

Paradoxically, despite his disdain for imposed change and external pressures, Gr'ell is remarkably stubborn and hidebound, clinging tenaciously to familiar patterns and routines unless he himself initiates changes on his own terms. Beneath his guarded exterior lies a man struggling with intense internal conflict, one who is yearning for genuine connection yet simultaneously terrified of losing control and exposing his true self. He is someone driven by a deep desire for freedom and autonomy, yet shackled by his own fears and insecurities, caught in a perpetual battle between his need for independence and his longing for intimacy.

HISTORY:
Born Gravell, he was the second son of his Holder line. Gravell was not destined to inherit his family's lands or title. Despite this, he received the traditional training in the ways of Lordship, a path that initially appealed to his youthful understanding of power.

However, this early enjoyment soon soured as he was increasingly compelled to socialize with women, the explicit goal being to secure a favorable marriage alliance.
Gravell's frustration mounted with each forced encounter; he found himself unable to forge genuine connections. It became painfully clear that the women presented to him were less interested in him as an individual and more in the prestige and property his family name represented.

At the age of twenty-four, his life took an unexpected turn when he was Searched by a dragon. Seizing the opportunity, Gravell decisively abandoned his Hold and journeyed to Telgar Weyr. There, he stood at the next clutch, and in a moment that would forever alter his destiny, he Impressed a magnificent bronze dragon named Fabith.

Weyrling training came easy to the pair. Gravell, now Gr'ell, excelled. Fabith had his quirks, but the pair forged a strong bond over the Weyrling years.

He visited his home Hold for the first time since he left shortly after graduation. Despite his trepidation, his parents and siblings marveled at his accomplishments and fawned over Fabith (which only inflated his ego of course) his youngest brother had recently had his Gold firelizard clutch so gave his brother an egg as both an apology and a gift. It soon hatched into a Blue Gr'ell named Veritas.

The next couple of turns passed without much interesting happening. Gr'ell never fully reconciled with his family so when his classmates suggested a mass transfer to Semeca, he decided it would be good for them too.

So to Semeca he went.

Veritas is a handsome blue split almost perfectly in halves of two shades of blue. His wings and most of his tail are a solid light blue while his underside is a rich navy. Accenting the split in colors is a stripe of sky blue. There are also swirls of sky along his side and launches. He's average sized for a blue, but serpentine in shape.

Veritas is a calm little dude who just wants to be left to his own devices. He is well trained by Gr'ell to sit still and go home to their weyr when needed. He won't turn down a friendly scratch or a treat, but he also doesn't go out of his way to beg for them.

If one could picture the ideal Bronze dragon, something like Fabith would probably come to mind. A beast of a Bronze, he is large and muscular and proportionate to his size. His coloring is a rich caramel color unbroken by any markings. He tends to shimmer as he is almost always freshly oiled.

Fabith is a "unique" individual, embodying a blend of misplaced chivalry and charming vanity. He genuinely believes he is Faranth's gift to dragonkind, and that his dramatic posing is the key to attracting them to flock to him

Fabith is very much A Knight in Shining Hide. Fabith is utterly convinced he's meant to rescue damsels in distress, though his understanding of what constitutes a "damsel" is, shall we say, fluid. This leads to many comical misunderstandings, as his heart is in the right place, but his brain is...less so. He's not the brighest glow, making his attempts at heroism more endearing than effective. You'll often find him swooping in to "save" someone from a tangled fishing net or a stubborn knot, completely oblivious to the fact that they were never in distress to begin with. He can be a bit dramatic about his failures and needs his wounded pride salved more than Gr'ell likes to admit

When he's not busy (mis)interpreting damsels, Fabith's favorite pastime is listening to the Harper's tales. He has a particular fondness for the romantic ones, especially those featuring a very dashing hero. He imagines himself in these roles, completely missing the nuances of true bravery and often envisioning himself simply looking heroic while someone else does the actual work. Mostly Gr'ell. Once they save the day, they will fly off into the sunset in triumph.

Perhaps his most defining trait is his somewhat obsessive nature about his appearance. Fabith demands extremely frequent oiling from his rider, not just for the health of his hide, but because he believes he must be the absolute shiniest dragon on Pern. He preens and poses after every oiling, convinced that his gleaming bronze hide will further enhance his appeal to… well, everyone, but especially the "damsels" he's so keen to impress. His vanity, combined with his limited intellect, creates a dragon who is both frustratingly dense and undeniably lovable.

To his rider he is mostly tolerated, though he is firm in his belief that Gr'ell needs to find his True Love and his happiness will forever be assured. He adores his rider though and simply wants him to be happy, often showing subtle signs of affection and loyalty in his own unique way. His persistent hope that Gr'ell will one day embrace love is unshaken, and he continues to encourage him gently, believing that this is the key to a fulfilled life. Even when met with resistance, he remains patient, holding onto the hope that the right moment will come for his rider to open his heart.
