FULL APPEARANCE:
Lori looks sweet, which is good, because she is. Her shoulder length blonde hair bounces when she walks and she usually, if always, has a smile on her face. Her features are soft and she walks around with a cheery disposition, no wonder her hair bounces around when she does the exact same thing.
Pastel colors are a favorite, more in the pink, red and purple variety. Lighter colors suit her best, and so do dresses. Shorter or longer, whatever kind, but dresses are much better than pants. She fears the day she’ll have to trade dresses for pants, if it ever happens, because she doesn’t own many pairs.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Lori is an angel. She’s that sweet girl from your local school who was nothing but nice to you and to everyone, and she didn’t even have a secret dirty streak. She’s not overly excitable, generally calm and level headed, but if you can start to get her going on something, it’s usually hard to get her to stop. She’s trusting to a fault and it’s her fatal flaw. She puts too much faith into people who just need someone to fill space for them.
She believes herself to be quite ladylike, and for the most part, she is. She talks in an appropriate manner, she doesn’t seek to hurt or discourage anyone, she’s somewhat elegant. However, if a fight was to break out and she got drawn into it, by god she’d finish that fight. That whole ‘ladies don’t start fights, they finish them’ is very much in her head.
She has a very minor fear of abandonment, mostly brought on from her father leaving her and her mother behind. While she understands that not everyone sticks around, especially on Pern, it left somewhat of an impact on her. This doesn’t present itself in any way outwardly, but she has an inward fear of being left behind that she deals with.
HISTORY
FAMILY: Londres of Blue Reinith (father, alive), Rianna (mother, alive)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: Fort Weyr
HISTORY:
Lori grew up like every other Weyrbrat did, in the creche. Her mother was much more involved in her upbringing than her father was, thanks to her being a creche worker. Her dad, however, was a blue rider, and often he was doing drills or, when it came around, fighting thread or doing whatever was needed to protect the Weyr, just like all riders do. Sure, he came and saw her occasionally, but never as much as her mother did. So, when her father transferred away to Ista without saying goodbye to her at the age of 12, there was a small hole left in Lori's heart where his less-than-frequent presence was.
She got over it, or, she thought she did. But, for a good part of her life, she moved on. Sure, she was always internally petrified that her mother would leave her behind too, but she could move past that. She did move past that. And then she ended up moving in a literal sense. Both her mother and herself found themselves being ferried over by one of their father's old rider friends to the new Weyr, Semaca, to live there.
Days passed by and Lori was joining her mother in doing weyrfolk jobs since there wasn't many kids around Semaca, thanks to its newness. Boring, boring, boring. Lori would never say so to her mother, but she found the whole ordeal incredibly boring. The most not-boring thing was finding a blue firelizard egg and getting a little cheery, skip-y baby flit of her own. But, it was because of that genera boringness that she decided to join up as a candidate. It would spice things up, she would be welcome to having a dragon around, if she could handle Skip-It, she could handle anything, right?
