"Like the shining stars light the path whenever it's dark
You keep on blinking at me
You never turn away from me, in this vast gloomy night sky"

Viola is still very much a child. She's growing more and more by the day, all energy and fire. She has olive skin, and keeps her curly black hair as tamed as possible, usually by forcing it into a braid or a bun. She has wide, bright eyes, and hasn't really learned Gaius' "function over form" style of dress. She still prefers dresses, and knee-high boots, despite knowing that whenever she becomes the biggest and strongest dragonrider, she'll need to wear pants and just deal with it.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
If anyone remembers G'oine, they would say that Viola is very much her father's daughter. She is as stubborn as a wher, very set in her ideas and ways, and she will not hear that she can't just be the biggest, strongest rider without a dragon. She will see her dreams come true, and she has the willpower to put in the work. Getting mud all over her hands and dresses isn't ideal, but she knows she has to be a good, hard worker to get things done. She has to be strong to make both Gaius and the memory of her father proud.
Viola has grown into a strong young woman, with the will of iron and the determination deep in her heart. She has taken the strength and teachings that Gaius has given to her, and she still considers the man her second father. Her endless optimism has been tempered to realism and a more grounded view of the world. She still hopes to ride a dragon, to make her father's memory live and to maybe make Gaius proud, though deep down she knows he is already proud of her.
Reining in her temper has been a challenge she still struggles with to this day. She has better days than others, and she still has a prickly streak that will likely end in arguments and shouting matches. She does try, of course, but she does not always succeed in keeping that under control.
HISTORY
FAMILY: G'oine of White Odeoth (father, deceased), Vellorine (mother, deceased)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: High Reaches Weyr
HISTORY:
Viola was a very loved child. From her birth and her young years, she was a very loved and well-cared for child, even under the heavy pressure of High Reaches. Not that she was very aware of it while she was young. Her mother was there to work in the caverns, and her father rode the best white she had ever known. Not that she was biased.
She was four when her mother grew ill and died, and Viola took it hard. Suddenly half of her family wasn't there. G'oin and Odeoth were suddenly a single pair, to raise a girl on their own. And by Faranth, G'oine did his absolute best to make sure she never wanted for anything. He worked incredibly hard to shield her from the worst of the world, and for the most part it worked. Viola was not a stranger to fighting other children who talked badly about her father, not that he ever really scolded her for it. She was proud, very proud.
It was a bad fall when she was 10 that took G'oine and Odeoth from her.
The sadness was almost crushing, and she was sent to the creche with the rest of the weyrbrats. It only made her more stubborn, and more ready to fight. She wouldn't let people talk badly about her father, or his white. At all. It was a cover, she responded to this grief with needing, and wanting, to be better. The creche was only stressful for her, a place to defend, and be overwhelmed. It wasn't the quiet of a family weyr. It was just loud. There were too many people. She just wanted to be out of it.
And then she met Gaius.
She had known that he had no dragon anymore, but she attached herself to him. He was safe. He was safe and quiet, and he was good. Whether he liked it or not, she was his ward now.
Upon moving in with Gaius, Viola evened out considerably. He was steady and certain, and she needed that stability more than ever. The Weyr was changing, and somewhere along the way she found the spark again. She would become the greatest dragonrider on Pern, no matter what!
The turns pressed on, and she has seen the coming and going of dragons and the harsh threadfalls that the Reaches has endured. She grew more determined than ever to ride, to try to protect those who cannot protect themselves, like Gaius would have wanted. She shouldered these ideals, and yet only when she turned 17 did she truly decide to step on the sands.
