Clothing-wise, she prefers to dress in feminine garments, leisure finding her in skirts or dresses in pale shades of white or beige where possible. Height-wise, she is rather average for a Pernese woman, standing around 5'9", and has an average build.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
M'ari is friendly, boistrous, and forward, not at all shy and unafraid of introducing herself to strangers. She cares deeply for her brother and will go out of her way to help and protect him without hesitation. She is insecure about her own shortcomings, tending to dwell on the issue longer than necessary, until they become a deep-rooted issue. While she doesn't tend to berate herself openly, it is very obvious when something is bothering her. She can also be very moody, but is less than likely to tell someone what a particular issue may be and instead just bottle it up and be rude or snippy, only to act like nothing happened at a later time.
Loud and rambunctious, she's less than inclined to listen to rules when they inconvenience her, especially if they are restrictive of her freedom. Curfew? Well, not anymore. Bedrest after an injury? She feels fine so she's going to go for a walk. This can surely be detrimental to her health and status.
She likes to spend time in quiet areas away from other Weyrfolk, and if happened upon she may sometimes playfully introduce herself as "a ghost."
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Mother, Father - Deceased
B'lak of Garnet Kinnirath - Fraternal Twin Brother - Alive
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: Cothold in Fort Territory
HISTORY:
M'ari was born a handful of minutes after her brother B'lak, technically making her the younger between the two twins. She grew up alongside her brother in the small cothold beholden to Fort, both siblings loved deeply by their parents. Their parents were a pair of the Hold's wherhandlers, caring for a wher which had been held by the family for several generations. She grew up jealous of her brother for said family wher's interest in him over her, not understanding why it would play favourites. Initially, she believed she simply lacked the capacity to bond to anything, Whers included (refusing to believe her parents as a child the well-known fact that Whers could bond to anyone), and as a result tried her hardest to succeed in other areas to make up for what she believed to be a shortcoming.
She picked up Harpercraft, remaining under the tutelage of the local Harper rather than transfer to the Harper Hall proper.
Despite the ripple effect caused, M'ari was less concerned about Golre or the new colours that arose in the same year than most others. Instead, her whole energy was focused on the loss of her parents, which was definitely hard for her. The husband and wife pair were killed in a sinkhole caused by Thread burrows near the Hold, the wher alongside them. She had been slightly resentful of their supportive nature as a child, so their loss was especially painful. With only each other left, M'ari fell under the care of others in the Cothold until she and her brother would be Searched two seasons later.
M'ari Impressed at her first Hatching, a green named Idamadth with whom she was immediately besotted despite her slightly abrasive personality. Weyrling training was a breeze for her, and though she had a near-death experience during her first Threadfall, she is more exhilarated than frightened. She was finally a part of something grand, with a partner all her own. For the most part, M'ari has flown under the radar since becoming a fully-fledged rider, quietly learning the ropes. She tried for wingleader once she came of age only to be passed over, though held no resentment toward those who succeeded. The turmoil between Fort and High Reaches has been cause for worry, especially considering the egg theft and her brother's dragon, but M'ari has no intent to leave Fort. She rather likes Tuckal and Serapheth.
