FULL APPEARANCE: R'thezi is extremely pale, tending to burn easily under the hot sun of Semaca. Their face and body are splattered with dark freckles, their eyes a pale blue. A scar runs from their scalp to their eyelid, vertically on their right side. Another along their left cheek, diagonally (leaning horizontal) towards their lips. A third, smaller scar, closer to vertical but still with a slight slope, is to the left of their eye, just a little too low and a little too far to the side to have hid their eye directly. Their hair is long and straight, a red-orange in color, with the bangs pushed to the side. It goes down to their waist, which is saying something.
Long. Slender. Delicate. These terms can all describe R'thezi's build. They are tall, standing at 6'7", but with a fragile-looking form. Agile, sure, with controlled maneuverability; quick, sure, and able to move faster than many; sneaky, sure, with a natural ability to move around quietly; but not strong, not at all.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: They talk a lot, tending to seem dismissive and overly casual in general conversation. Between their cussing and informal language, they certainly seem crude, and they enjoy teasing others in a way that is (usually) well meaning. Despite their jabs and flippant nature, they have a heart of gold, and would do anything for others, even if it means sacrificing their needs. They will protect others, and they will do what they can to help others. Surprisingly, they have a bit of a martyr complex, though this isn't evident when someone first meets them. In word, they seem selfish and uncaring, a jokester, a prankster, but in deed...they're certainly more dutiful than their words would have you seem. They work hard in their drills and will go out of their way to help others out. Still, when they speak, nothing seems off-limits to talk about, and they seemingly have no sense of tact...though this is by choice. It's more fun that way, after all, keeps them from growing bored. It also helps to hide their insecurities, their fears of failure, their worries they won't be good enough--the possibility of someone needing them desperately, and them letting them down. They can be extremely blunt as well, often saying things that end up pushing others away.
Although they can be goofy, their joking smirk tends to hide their insecurities and more serious hurts. They're insecure, deep down, hurting and missing their sister, feeling useless and helpless about their threadfall injuries, and so on...but they do their damnedest not to let anyone realize this. When they're being professional--such as when doing drills--they act entirely differently, as well. They know how to manipulate others, know how to lie, but most of their bluffing and half-truths relate to protecting themselves. It's harder to get hurt when people don't have leverage against you, and that's a fact. They're very good at tricking others, but prefer not to, unless it's for some sort of prank. They have a mischievous streak, after all.

HISTORY: death/fire mention
Raithezi's birth hold was small, a cothold under Fort's territory. Cousins and family members--including those who weren't technically related--populated the cothold, and among those, Raithezi lived with their mother, father, and four siblings. As a middle child, they never really stood out. They were very close to their youngest sibling, caring deeply for her and making sure she was protected. Araithe was Raithezi's everything; and even when Raithezi couldn't be with her, they wrote constantly. Together, Araithe and Raithezi got into all kinds of mischief. Their mother was a smith, and with a small, austere forge at their cothold, she was able to fulfill many of the hold's needs. Raithezi wanted to be like her...but they were always too frail. Despite this, they remained close to their family, and enjoyed spending time in the forge.
In Spring 2759, just before turning 16, they were searched, along with one of their brothers. Luck had them at Fort Hold during a search, getting supplies for home. The peacekeeper's age had just begun; and unlike High Reaches, Fort Weyr was a safe, even exciting, place to be, especially in Raithezi's eyes. At a hatching in 2762, a dutiful green had come over, pushing them towards the food, and they couldn't be happier. In 2765, R'thezi was among the first to join the newly-recognized Semaca weyr. In 2767, two turns after their transfer, wildfires near Fort Hold destroyed the family cothold. The hold was empty, abandoned, and the forge left in scorched ruins.
Even worse, Araithe had died in the fire, devastating R'thezi. There was nothing to do, and they'd never felt so helpless. For a while, they threw themselves into their duties with newfound vigor, hoping for distraction...but this eagerness, this earnest determination, it led to recklessness. And recklessness? That led to injury. In 2768, the pair flew out of formation to flame some thread at R'thezi's command. A few strands scored R'thezi's arms, chest, and face, and as Justicath turned to try and protect her rider, the green's wings were scored as well. Justicath practically had to force R'thezi to rest. The rider hated the idea of doing nothing, sitting around, especially while their dragon, too, was injured. They healed, and R'thezi took it as a wakeup call. Caution suited them better, even if they didn't change how they acted. They wouldn't risk Justicath's life again.
In Spring 2770, R'thezi adopted two canine puppies. They'd always liked canines--and there had been canines at their hold, that they had loved--so it seemed logical to get a few of their own. They could have just started with one, but they'd fallen in love with the brother and sister. They raised the canines with love and affection above all else and enjoy their companionship.
