FULL APPEARANCE:
A young man with lightly tanned skin, brown hair, and brown eyes, he doesn't consider himself particularly outstanding in any one way or another. He's fairly average height for a Pernese man, with a bit of a bulky build. His brown hair is kept a bit longer, to his shoulders and typically pulled back in a low tail. He bears several scars on his frame, though the one that stands out the most is a long gash over his right eye. Luckily, the eye itself isn't otherwise damaged. Clothing-wise, he prefers simple garments in pale colours. He keeps his face clean-shaven, as his facial hair grows in patchy.

E'las is typically a rather carefree and jovial individual, with a serene way of looking at life as a whole. He dislikes formalities, not caring much about social status or recognition. His expressions and gestures are lively and expressive, and he has a habit of talking with his hands. E'las can be very talkative, sometimes even going so far as to have one-sided conversations with himself or with anyone who would listen to him. He's also hard-working and typically good under pressure and stressful situations. Overall, he's typically optimistic about things as a whole, looking at things from a glass half full perspective.
On the other hand, E'las can actually be rather cynical, though most of all in regards to people in positions of power. This likely stems from his heritage, though it's hard to say exactly. Although he will talk to just about anyone about anything with or without knowing them well, he doesn't typically consider someone a friend unless he has known them for some time. Thanks to his lack of care for social status or recognition, he can be rather imprudent, acting without care for what the consequences may be. He's not necessarily impulsive, but definitely is a rash man.

HISTORY:
E'las, born Erralas, is the third son of a Beastherder family in High Reaches territory. He grew up with several siblings both older and younger, though had no issue with his large family. Unfortunately, one of his older siblings was taken by Golre's followers, souring his parents' relationship with the Weyr and their riders. Said sibling, they learned through crudely-drawn letters via firelizard (as none of the family was literate) managed to Impress and was stuck at the Weyr. Thus, Erralas grew up with little hope of being permitted to be Searched and potentially fly the skies, until Golre was dethroned and High Reaches freed from her tyranny. It was only at this point that their sibling was able to visit safely, and Erralas learned of the beauty of dragons up-close, having always seen them flying high above and being fascinated with them despite their parents' disapproval.
Although he was extended the offer of Search at fifteen, he declined, knowing his parents would refuse and not wanting them to think that another child had been spirited away like their sibling before them. Life continued for him without much of note, other than obtaining the scar on his face thanks to a fence collapsing and a stray nail catching him as the beams collided.
At eighteen, he was given the chance to be Searched again and this time he chose to accept without telling his parents until he had already packed his things. His sibling had spent time trying to undo some of the opinion-based damage done by Golre's regime and the couple were at least slightly accepting of the idea. Erralas himself merely wished to have the opportunity to Stand and the honor of potentially being a Dragonrider in a new High Reaches, someone his parents could be proud of.
Luckily for him, he Impressed at his first Hatching, the first and last of Gold Aldoeith's clutches at High Reaches Weyr--becoming E'las of Brown Khaliith.
