PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Kyros isn't the smartest and, in all honesty, he is kind of oblivious. He is someone who likes to play more than study and he isn't exactly fond of being still. This doesn't mean he isn't an idiot, per say. He learns more from hands on experience. An example of this is working with his hands and taking care of his dragon- while he doesn't learn well with scrolls and lectures, he does learn well when he puts stuff into practice.
However, he is a team player. He often has a wide grin on his face and is often ready to root for people, no matter who they are. He's certainly a good friend and is often incredibly optimistic. However, this upbeat attitude can be irksome to people, as Kyros is almost never upset or sad, often smiling from ear to ear. He just generally doesn't feel that way and will often have a positive outlook on life, no matter what happens.
He does not really take social cues well and, due to this, he can seem obnoxious at times. He doesn't realize that he's saying anything that is upsetting, he's just trying to make conversation, or rather, add to it. He can come off as self absorbed as well, as he likes to brag about how strong he is or about his muscles at times. He doesn't tend to notice when he does that as well.

HISTORY:
Kyros was born in a small hold, while his cousins had been born at sea. Unlike his uncle, his parents were minercrafters, working hard to make a living for their small family of four. However, disaster would happen to the family one day and, suddenly, Kyros found himself living in a small family cothold with his uncles, cousins, parents and brother. He was confused as to why this happened, but his mother told him not to ask about it.
She seemed to have a sorrow filled look in her eyes every time she told him this, as if she wanted to talk about it with someone.
Life was admittedly hard in Triton's hold, though Kyros didn't seem to mind. He enjoyed playing with his cousins while his parents worked and provided their goods to the ship to be traded. He was especially fond of Ariel, often exploring with her and spending time whenever she wanted to be by his side. He was happy to be near his cousins, after all.
He truly enjoyed his life in the cothold and was happy to just take up his parents trade, training under someone. However, this was short lived as, when he turned fifteen, a dragonrider from Fort Weyr would come to the cothold and Kyros would be taken back to Fort Weyr. He was sad to say goodbye to his friends and family, but he was excited about becoming a dragonrider.
In fact, it seemed like his dragon was eager to meet him too. Shortly after he arrived, there was a hatching and a blue dragon had quickly made his way to Kyros. Admittedly, Kyros was nervous at first, as Callioth seemed really dainty. However, the two grew to be a strong group, eventually becoming a dragonriding pair of the weyr.
When his cousin, Ariel, arrived in Fort, Kyros was hopeful that she would impress on the sands, where eggs were already hardening. However, during that hatching, disaster would strike.
A purple garnet had attacked his cousin and Kyros had to be stopped from running onto the sands. While she recovered, he would visit her very often. It did not seem like this would be the only incident, as all of the trailblazers- minus Ariel, would be poisoned. He was thankful Ariel had been spared, but he couldn't believe how horrible some people could be.
Perhaps that was why he would eventually leave Fort Weyr. The final nail in the coffin was, honestly, the revolt against the gold dragon, Serapheth. He would find himself soon leaving Fort Weyr, traveling to Semaca Weyr. After all, Ariel had gone there shortly after she had graduated.
He was happy to be around his family again and he planned on working hard to be a good member of the weyr. He even befriended a wherhandler (though, said wherhandler thinks differently). He didn't even see to mind the pirates at all, welcoming them with a friendly smile on his face. He was even happy for them when they could become candidates and impress dragons and whers.
This was the weyr for all of them, after all.
