FULL APPEARANCE: Nellie may fancy herself the most beautiful girl in the world, but she is simply pretty by most standards. With no spectacular build to speak of, she does sport golden blonde hair, often stylized into curls with colorful ribbons, and light blue eyes.
She wears the fanciest clothes she can procure, and is always dressed to the nines, even when an occasion doesn't actually call for it, flaunting her supposed status. Her face is more often in a challenging stare or a haughty sneer than a genuine smile, though one may occasionally be glimpsed.
Her skin is perhaps her most genuinely flawless feature, as of yet unmarred by illness or injury.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
First and foremost, Nellie acts as if she is the most important person in whatever room she happens to be in, and she cannot stand not being the center of attention. She will fib her way to the spotlight or, if she finds it advantageous enough, cry in order to try and sway any in her way, despite any lack of real emotion or tears generated. Despite often being caught in a lie, Nellie will make up any excuse as to why the falsehood was necessary, or be hysterical over why anybody would think she isn't the victim.
People she views as too common are looked down upon, only to be interacted with when they can be of use to her, as servants or lackeys. She is the epitome of entitled, and derisive towards any she views as her lessers, often bragging about her possessions or societal standing, and becoming enraged when her orders are not followed. Though bright enough when motivated, she doesn't like to bow to authority, often thinking she knows better. If she gets caught in disobedience, she will often try to brush the blame off onto another.
Too much of this behavior has had her ostracized from social groupings in the past, though she usually manages to bandy a group together again through bribes and sweet nothings. She has few close friends as a result, and any lucky enough to teach or lead her will have to butt heads with her before she will bend.
She views dragons other than golds and bronzes as inferior, and is certain that she is destined to be the greatest queenrider ever.
There is a side of Nellie that can be genuinely loving, though it is seldom seen through the snark and the haughtiness, reserved only for those with enough patience to withstand for long, or perhaps someone able to forcefully crack the shell over her personality.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Mother: Harriet
Father: Nelson (Nels)
Brother: William (Willie)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: Her own ego
BIRTHPLACE: Keogh
HISTORY: While Nellie will claim that her parents are prominent in the Hold hierarchy, the truth is that they are simply wealthy, and lucky in their prospects. A marriage of Master Weavers of the finest textiles available in their small hold, and some of the few trained crafters in the area, they have doted upon their children since the moment they were born, offering anything they could have ever wanted. Harriet has been especially guilty of spoiling her daughter, despite some effort by her husband to mitigate the damage done.
Nellie has grown with the finest clothes and food as well as the opportunities for tutors. She was well-educated in her parents' craft and literacy especially, though she often found any other subjects too dull to dedicate herself too. History piqued her interest however, and she found herself yearning for the power of some of those she learned about. Golre may have been a monster, but she was a powerful monster, and Nellie soon became determined to find power for herself.
While she avoided being too overtly ambitious, she attempted to endear herself to anybody who might be her next opportunity, selling not only their wares, but her future and what she could bring to the table. Eventually, shortly after she turned 16, she caught the attention of a searchrider pair. She may claim she was snatched up by the dragon almost immediately as a candidate, but even the blue that picked her wasn't all that drawn by her. She has potential, but not nearly as much as she would like to think.
Now, at High Reaches, she awaits her chance for what is sure to be nothing but glory.
