FULL APPEARANCE:
If not for the sense of purpose to his walk and the way he holds himself, Theseus' youthful, freckle covered face could be mistaken for someone much younger than he truly is. His hair is styled, rarely, if ever, is a lock out of place. Good cheekbones, good jawline no distinct signs of ageing, he looks as if he was mid-twenties. While it is nice to be thought of as younger, the whole point of the look and air of confidence he tries to present is the counteract to that.
Suits and long coats happen to be amongst his favorite clothes as they also make him look less like a baby. In the summer, he sheds his blazers and coats for dress shirts with the sleeves rolled up in order to beat the heat. Other months? He bundles up, scarves and all. He seems to like wearing lots of blues and greys, they just compliment him nicely.
Also, his ears stick out a little and tend to get red when he's embarrassed. Cute facts.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Theseus has a powerful, brave and commanding personality. Sometimes, because of this, he can come off as bossy when he is really trying to get things done efficiently. He is highly intelligent, as he shows himself to be gifted in both the theoretical aspects of his lessons and their practical applications. While not a chatterbox by any great means, Theseus is rather confident and social and has no complications whatsoever with handling a conversation. He's not afraid to show signs of physical affection.
As well as all this, Theseus is a kind, noble, and responsible man, who doesn't allow the fact that he is a goldhandler to make him arrogant or conceited, he just wants to act as a good role model to those around him. The man has an incorruptable moral code that he lives by. He attempts to give others useful advice to keep them out of trouble, and he's always willing to listen to the advice those of a higher position or of higher intelligence than he.
Unlike his brother and parents, Theseus doesn't see the study of beasts as a practical career and more as a way of passing the time. While, yes, dragons and whers and all sorts of other beasts are essential to life on Pern, studying and breeding them takes up time that would be better used fighting against thread or protecting the Weyr. His mind works in practicalities, concrete facts and theoreticals, not quick pastimes that aren't of incredibly great use.
HISTORY
FAMILY: Rolaran (father, alive), Satheyra (mother, alive), Newt of Titanium Newsk (younger brother, alive?)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER:
BIRTHPLACE: Lemos Hold
HISTORY:
As the eldest of two brothers, Theseus always had to look out for his little brother Newt. He cared for him dearly and tried to show him nothing but kindness. He thrived under the attention of his parents and tried to learn anything that he could around the hold, proving his academic ability was something that he was greatly interested in as he didn't want to get sucked into the beast studies of his parents. He wanted something a little more.
He made friends with the other Holdbrats easily, unlike his brother. Playing around the hold outside of his studies kept the boy well engaged and well connected, as he wanted to be. Making friends even with Newt's friend Leta who came around often to look at their runners, he tried to let Newt be at the forefront of that friendship, it was one of the few he had and Theseus didn't want to ruin it for him.
One day, Newt and Leta let loose all of their mother's runners into the Hold, While Newt was punished alone for letting the runners loose, Theseus made it his goal to help out and return them all to their pen. While he didn't do it alone, the boy was still in his mid-teens, nothing that great a goal could be accomplished then, he did get a few back. The ones that he had begrudgingly helped his mother with when he was younger were easy to get back into the pen. His reputation as a hard-worker only increased then, and he was proud of it.
While he knew Leta aided Newt in the release, and he should be mad at her for that alone, he was madder that she had abandoned him. Newt had protected her from the same punishment that he had undergone, and she didn't even care to say thanks? Rude. He confronted her, but only found himself continuing to be friends with her due to her personality being something of a fun mystery to him.
As Newt joined his parents in the beast-based fields of study, Theseus attempted to benefit the Hold in more stable ways. At the age of seventeen, using the money that he saved up over the years, he bought a large wher egg and waited for the thing to hatch. Becoming a wherhandler, in his mind, was the best way to protect and aid the Hold. After a while, the egg hatched, and out sprawled a shiny, yellowy-orangey wher. A gold wher, and it bonded to him. He and Thesk, as she promptly named herself, made a vow to become a duo that had nothing if not a spotless reputation.
Time passed for the duo, Theseus became the adored protector that he dreamed of being, Newt moved away with his new career, and Theseus and Leta only grew closer. There were talks of marriage between the two, but while Leta wished to remain at the Hold, and Theseus thought that, if he was good at protecting a Hold, he'd have a fair chance at being good at protecting a Weyr as well. Arguments between the couple weren't often or of any great magnitude, but Theseus' commanding nature got the hand of him and their relationship burned up into ash.
After debating to which Weyr would be the best to travel to, they settled on Fort Weyr, after hearing about the previous two flights being no less than violent, as the Weyr that they would potentially excel the best at benefiting. Saying goodbye to his ex and to his parents, Theseus and Thesk made their way to Fort, joining up with the Dawn Squad the second after settling in.
