Voting - Amaata of
Blue Kuroth,
Spring 2776Voting was a hard concept for Amaata, not because she didn't get it - because she did - but because she didn't know anybody yet. Still, she felt like it was her duty to participate in the Weyr's democracy if she was going to be a part of the fabric of High Reaches. Now all she had to do was home that she didn't forsk up too badly and that she would be able to actually be a productive part of her new Weyr. At least she hadn't been expected to run for a position! That would have been overwhelming.

An Ending - Cyan of
Blue Cyask,
Summer 2777Honestly, things between Cyan and Kesan had been strained since Cyask had hatched. Perhaps it should have been expected. Perhaps it was even inevitable. Perhaps it was a miracle they'd lasted a full turn after Cyask's hatching.
The fact of the matter was, with wherlinghood tempering their relationship, things just didn't work between the two men. Cyan hated to think that things between them had been so dependent on the physical, but maybe it was better to know.
At the moment, Cyan felt more than a little numb. He was settled on his bed when Cyask shoved his way in, laying his heavy head on his handler's lap. For a moment they were silent, and then Cyask grumbled softly. I'm sorry.
It's not your fault, Cyan sighed. It's no one's fault, really. These things happen. Still, it was a little awkward; Cyan had given up the sea and settled in Semaca for Kesan. Now they were no longer together, but they were both ... here. It was going to take some adjustment.
Well, there was nothing for it except to keep moving forward. "It's not like we're going to let a little heartbreak stop us, eh Cyask?"
If whers could grin, Cyask surely would be. Nothing is ever going to stop us. Certainly not Kesan.
