Wherling Lessons

[Jabberwoky]

The wherling lessons are broken down into information and hands-on training, homework, and a social activity in downtime. Lessons will be posted by staff so that any may participate if they so wish. Lectures happen weekly and cycle through subject; wherlings are expected to attend them all by the end of their 12th month. All lessons are considered IC mandatory; we understand if you do not make it to them OOC!

Lesson 1
Immediately after Hatching/Month One
Wherlet Basics

• Proper Feeding/Butchering, including a feeding schedule
• Proper cleaning and oiling of a wherlet
• Basic First Aid for immediate and small injuries
• Socialization with Handler and Others

Homework: 24/7 Practice of Skills. Pick a mentor.
Social: Meet with 3 other riders/handlers to socialize your wher.

Communication and Exercise

• Stretching and movement
• Proper exercise and sleep schedule
• Blocking/Sharing communication skills
• Communication with others (dragons, weyrfolk, etc.)

Homework: Wher-led communication; stretching and exercise.
Social: Practice talking with at least 3 others.

Social: Leather dye/thread class for custom graduation harness! Scent hunting people/items in Weyr.
