Tough Talks [Ageno]

The most recent threadfall had been relatively successful, despite the...strange appearance of the thread. Apart from one bad injury, there weren't too many injuries that were worth talking about. The general behavior during threadfall, however, was a completely different story. G'las and Kreta had had a talk with the wing about it, but he'd pointed out to her wingleader that some people heard criticism more clearly in one-on-one conversations. So they were splitting up talking to the wing. They were talking to everyone, even if there wasn't anything to discuss, simply because that way it wouldn't feel like anyone was being singled out.

Tess was next on G'las's list. She'd called the greenrider in to speak to her and was waiting on her. G'las was working on paperwork while he waited, and there was klah and pastries because these sorts of talks often went better with food involved too, she'd found.

G'las and his summons weren't well received by Tess, who would much rather stay in her weyr and nurse her injured ear in her weyrmate's company than see what business her wingsecond had of her. As she made her way to where G'las had instructed for them to meet, she had a most foul expression on her face, mirrored in how Kazeroth groused and fretted in her mind. Though she tried to wordlessly soothe her green, it was pretty much a pointless effort while she herself was so touchy too. Once she'd arrived at G'las' door, Tess knocked to herald her approach, waiting long enough to be within what was considered polite before walking in. By her body language, she was on edge and uncertain as she stiffly regarded G'las, still standing, but her expression mellowing from hostility to something that seemed to better fit finding something rotten than greeting your wingsecond. A new transfer to a new wing, she was expecting...something. What that something was, she wasn't sure. G'las had been kind enough to set up klah and pastries, she noticed, though she had no interest in partaking. "So you sent summons," she said by way of greeting, her voice low, but still respectful enough of G'las' position as wingsecond of her wing, though she'd had little experience regarding G'las personally. "What is it?"

"Enter," G'las called when she heard a knock, only glancing up once he heard the door open. She raised an eyebrow at Tess's stiff posture and expression. She glanced at his notes to remind herself of what Tess had done, and then frowned. What was with her expression? She hasn't done anything truly worth being reprimanded over, and here she was looking like G'las was going to feed her to Quenith.

"Yes, I 'sent summons'," G'las said, a little dryly. "Please sit," he said. "I doubt this will take long, but it'll go more pleasantly if you aren't looming over me looking like you wish death on me."

G'las got up and topped off her mug of klah quickly then sat back down. "Kreta and I are speaking to everyone in the wing, my dear. There were a number of incidents that did not reflect well on us, as I'm sure you noticed as well. As a newly formed wing, it's important for us to put our best feet forward. Your behavior was not particularly note-worthy, so there's nothing you need to concern yourself with, except perhaps remembering to look up every once in a while? It wouldn't go amiss, considering we're fighting thread, after all, which does come from above."

She took a long drink. She'd started with her more difficult conversations, and as a result was a bit tired. "Did you have any questions or concerns you wanted to bring up? This is as much about seeing how we can improve as it is about your own performance."
