A stranger in holder's clothes has arrived at Fort Weyr, claiming to be the sibling of the candidate killed in the recent wher attack. They demand a place in Fort's candidate barracks and the right to take their sibling's place, since their family lost its chance at honor due to the weyr's negligence.

Plemeth's eyes were whirling a soft blue, hazy and gray with mourning and sorrow, sympathy. I don't think there would be any opposition to that, given the events ...

"Yea but ... " E'lis scratched his head, mulling it over a little bit. "Obviously this ain't really our decision so uh ... lemme get you a cup of k'lah, huh? And we'll let the candidatemasters know o they can uh ... direct you better." E'lis dismounted his dragon, quickly making for the kitchens as he called back to the green. "Darlin', wouldja mind hollerin' for 'em? Let 'em know we got a guest and potential candidate?"

Plemeth waited a moment to watch her rider retreat into the caverns. Chuffing lightly, the green rose her head to the sky. Anderoth, Jaehaeryth, could you please let your bondeds know we have an individual here who'd like to stand as a candidate? They claim to be siblings of the one who was murdered by Ieyak's pack, so please tread lightly okay? she added privately to them.

If they wish for a place as a candidate, then they must take their bothersome cringing to a Searchdragon. If they wanted the ease to just stroll onto the sands, then that is their fault for not being Weyrborn. They should complain to their sires, and not waste anymore of our time!

Silksoth let out an impatient snort, her thin eyes narrowing almost to slits. She couldn’t stand time-wasting, especially from obnoxious little whelps that had yet to learn their place in things. To be silent and do what they were told.

Kami was atleast a touch more sympathetic, or rather, more indifferent. She knew a lot of the sharp hostility from her bonded was mostly because Silksoth had no patience for those in the younger crowd. The Garnet still made a fair point, however.

“I highly doubt Fort would turn away a potential candidate now, especially with a space abruptly made vacant in the barracks. The key word being: ‘potential’.”

Kami would silently give the stranger some points for ‘boldness’ on their part. Arrogant and probably stupid, but bold mixed in there all the same. Everyone knew that being a candidate was no guarantee, for honor or for survival. Afterall, how many wishful dragonrider hopefuls had been mauled to their end before the could even take flight?
