Ogami is a decidedly average looking man. He stands at 6'2", long legged and broad shouldered. He has slightly wavy blond hair that falls to his ears and piercing light blue eyes. Years of frowning has given him frown lines around his eyes, mouth, and forehead. This does nothing to stop the frowning. He usually looks displeased with something, though its simply his neutral face.
He can usually be seen in functional work clothes, as is his preference. His hands are rough with callouses and scarred from years of work. Ogami has a nasty scar from Threadfall that curls over his left shoulder and down his back, as well as several smaller ones cross-crossing the backs of his arms.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
To put it simply, Ogami isn't a soft person. Life's hardships has molded him into a bitter, gruff man who's first instinct in many instances is suspicion. His wariness and body language damage his social life, but it's a habit to deeply ingrained for him to abandon completely. He's rather lonely, though he'd never admit as much out loud. The soft part of his heart is protected with tooth and nail, and shown to very few, but it does exist. Ijith is the biggest benefactor of his soft side.
What he lacks in social life Ogami makes up for in his work ethic. He enjoys what he does, enjoys knowing he has a part in protecting people from Threadfall. Often he fights with the protective part of himself and the sensible part that knows he can't go on forever without rest or recourse. Still, he doesn't really know how to relax. He always wants to be doing something of importance.

BIRTHPLACE: Fort Weyr
HISTORY:
Ogami was born to two riders through flight feelings, though he never saw them. He grew up under the Creche's protection, and largely didn't give his parentage more than a passing thought. Life was busy enough, after all. Fort was bustling with activity. Things were relatively quiet as he aged into candidacy in 2752. The most interesting thing that happened was probably the occasional news of odd mutations from other weyrs.
Eight turns after he aged into candidacy, and still dragonless, was when Golre started causing trouble. Ogami knew she was bad news, he just didn't have proof of it until 2761, when she declared war on them. Part of him felt useless. He still hadn't impressed, and he had no way of fighting for Fort like he wanted to. All he could do was what he usually did; candidate chores and worry about the outcome of upcoming fights. Fort surprised him by taking down nearly two full wings of dragons from High Reaches, and he reasoned that maybe they were going to be okay.
The hatching in the winter of 2761 was finally his time. While Serapheth stirred up tension with her violence, a white (the only white, in hindsight) had chosen him. Ijith, who was everything Serapheth wasn't. He was practically a child; joyful and happy in the way only a child could be. He didn't have the heart to be disappointed. Ijith softened a part of him he hadn't thought about in many turns.
As time went on, he was surprised to see that time and life didn't wear at Ijith's personality. He remained as he was when he hatched, and Ogami couldn't help but marvel at him. Trial after trial, turn after turn, he himself became gruff and watchful, while Ijith remained the same. Plague and dragons fighting on the sands made the turn of 2764 stressful. Then there were the Trailblazers and the resulting fall out. He wondered if Serapheth was just cursed to cause mayhem no matter what.
He was only further proven in his theory when her daughter, Nornth, rose. Several dragons died, and Ogami once again asked himself if her entire bloodline was just destined for violence. Then there were Neozeoth's eggs, stolen from the sands, and the resulting collapse of relations with High Reaches. And if that weren't bad enough, Z'osh followed the event with a coup. It smoothed over as well as it could, but Ogami was left wondering if he shouldn't transfer somewhere less stressful, if only for a break from all the chaos.
If one good thing happened in his time at Fort, it was meeting Michiru. She was just another Creche kid, like he had been, but she had spirit. She was curious about him, and determined to find out more. His gruff demeanor did nothing to deter her. He found himself wanting to see her, visiting often, until something like a family bond developed between the two. He saw Michiru as his daughter, and he wanted to help her succeed, whatever she may want to do.
